Files system for Widows XP won't copy
I am trying to install a xp full version of a desk top which was removed operating system. He begins to copy get 82% to the msiexec.exe file after no file copy. Help
I guess that you install by using a Windows XP installation CD and follow the normal installation procedure. It is likely that the source file cannot be read from the CD or the file cannot be written to the hard disk. If she is unable to read a file from the CD, then try to remove the CD and clean gently. When you are installing, it asks to format the hard drive and gives you the possibility of a quick format or regular format. When you get that choice, do not choose quick format. Instead, leave completely reformatted the hard drive. It takes more time but cards of bad sectors out of use that may be on the hard disk.

File system for FRA and external backups
Oracle 11g R2.
The FRA drive is formatted using Linux x 83 put on Diskgroup + FRA system.
Backups are stored outside on an ext3 file system.
Suppose now the database gets completely crashed and I need to recover by continuing external backups. I will copy the external backups to the + FRA disk and then perform the recovery from there.
My question is, given that external backups are on ext3 file system, while the FRA is the Oracle ASM filesystem, there will be a problem for the use of the file systems of the two difference?
Thank you
Scott

To summarize the issue:
In my system, the database will be on ASM disk group + DATA (disk1 disk2).
I will use another disk, disk3 (ext3 file system) for FRA, to organize data files backups and multiplexed logs (archive logs, online newspapers and control files).
Earlier you said "I'll use the + FRA (ASM disk group) for the fast recovery area that holds that archiving multiplexed logs, recovery online logs, and control files.» Nothing else. »
Now, I need one more place to hold the copy of the multiplexed logs.
Wouldn't not on the same + (ABOVE)? Alternatively, use a disk full-fledged, disk4 (ext3 file system)?
Thank you
Scott
First of all, the reason for multiplexing online redo logs and control files is not the same as that of multiplexing archivelogs. Do it online and the control file are actually a part of the database. The database will not work without them. This is why it is so important to have multiplex. Archivelogs, on the other hand, are part of your backup strategy. The database itself really doesn't care if you have any archivelogs at all. The archivelogs multiplexing is much less common. I have never multiplexed mine, but I do not have a task that runs every hour to copy any newly created on a server off-site.
If your database is on ASM, at least a control file and a member of each group of redo log must be in ASM. Technically, is not having to be, but it's really foolish not to do so. Where to put the second copy? Probably several schools of thought on this. If your FRA is on ext3, so it seems a simple decision... a FRA copy, a copy in its default location in ASM.

File system for data Essbase = >; NFS or other?
Hello!
We strive to put our Essbase cubes on a NFS file system shared for our Essbase cluster
Performance is weaker than expected (2 x slower than our current configuration)
I saw on internet that NFS is not recommended for Essbase 9 but nothing for Essbase 11.1.2.3.x on the doc of the EMP.
-Are you using NFS for your Essbase data? What version of v3, v4?
-What type of FS do you recommend (for linux)
Thank you!
Take a look at the setting guide - https://blogs.oracle.com/pa/entry/epm_infrastructure_tuning_guide_v11

What is the path of file system for javascript files?
We want to keep our javascripts under version control using SVN. SVN has features to do this, but they are all accessible from the file system location where the files are stored. So where is it? When the external editor is used, the file is copied to the Temp directory under the logged in user, but as soon as you close the editor, the file is deleted, so this isn't really an appropriate place for SVN connection.
Thank you!
You can get this path as well using the same method, by replacing "javascript".
with "sequences".

Type of file system for Windows 7
Separated from this thread.
Buth that I take for windows 7 ultimate fat 32 or ntfs
NTFS is the file system recommended for Windows and hard disks be used with Windows. It is more stable and more secure than FAT32. In addition, FAT32 has some limitations like maximum file size should be 4 GB only, not supported (EFS) encryption, etc..

Hi Michael,
Serscan.sys (serial Imaging Device Driver) is located in the folder C:\Windows\System32\drivers.
Similar to the operating system XP in the following article, you can refer to it.

using DBFS file system for request shell scripts
Guy
We use DBFS application shell scripts using Korn shell scripts. The default shell for use is/bin/ksh
Exadata = X 2-2
version = 11.2.2.2.1 BP4
Version Oracle = 11.2.0.2
WARNING: incorrect syntax, perhaps a fake '-'? See /usr/share/doc/procps-3.2.7/FAQ
-ksh: xxx.ksh: xxx.ksh: cannot run [bad address]
When you run as
ksh xxx.ksh it works fine
Thank youMOS 1054431.1 also discusses this:
"DBFS filesystems can always hold files of shell script or binary file, but if it is mounted with the direct_io option, files on DBFS is not executable. In this case, a second file DBFS system may be used because it can be mounted without the option direct_io to support executable files or scripts. »

Access to the file system for Extraction and load testing
Hello
I did a study with me the different techniques of Extraction and load using Oracle database as a source for the extractions and targets for loads.
I would like to run the same tests on my test service to compare the run times.
To do this, I need my schema to be able to write files and read them as external tables.
I didn't need to download files, I can create using the UTL_FILE utility that comes with the Oracle database.
My test service will include limited access to a directory read / write flat files?
Thanks in advance,
Stew of AshtonStew,
The cloud of Oracle does not support external tables, nor access to the OS files (utl_file etc.). Only, you have sftp and download access via Apex or SQL Developer to load or import data. Someday, there may be a place to store files in the cloud, but I don't know the details of this.

What is FAT, FAT32 & NTFS maximum file size of file systems supported? File system of all the methods of the passage of FAT & FAT32 to NTFS without formatting is appreciated. (IE without deleting the files from a particular disk).
Difference between material FAT & FAT32?
I have a disk full of files, and it is in the FAT32 file system. As I can't copy large files (5 GB +) in this player, I intend to fix this by changing the file systems. Apparently, it is not possible to do it without formatting. I am curious about a way to do this without destroying the drive.
Thanks in advance.

Difference between material FAT & FAT32?
First, note that there are three varieties of FAT: FAT12, FAT16, and
FAT32. Many people call just FAT16 FAT, because before that FAT32 is out.
FAT16 is the only variety used for hard drives, so just
The FAT was not enough.FAT12 (hardly any more used) had a maximum volume size of 12 MB.
It has been used almost exclusively for floppy disks.FAT16 was used on hard disks (or partitions) up to 4 GB and had a
cluster size which varied from 2 KB to 64 KB, depending on the size of
the partition. It serves almost never again, because almost nobody does
a as small as 4 GB partitions.FAT32 FAT16 succeeded and has a maximum drive size of 2 TB. His
maximum file size is 4 GB, which explains why you can't copy a file of 5 GB to
it. its cluster size is 4 KB up to an 8 GB partition. Beyond 8 GB the
cluster size develops up to 32 KB.
NTFS, that's what almost everyone should use on their hard drives
today. Its maximum volume size is 2 ^ ^ 64-1 and its maximum file size
16 × 1024 is ^ ^ 6 bytes (much more than the bigger hard drive available
today). Cluster size is 4 KB, regardless of the size of the volume.I have a disk full of files, and it is in the FAT32 file system. As I can't copy large files (5 GB +) in this player, I intend to fix this by changing the file systems.
Good! You should.
Apparently, it is not possible to do it without formatting.
It's not correct. To convert to NTFS, use you the CONVERT
command. But first read http://www.aumha.org/a/ntfscvt.htm , because
There is an important question about the size of cluster that is not obvious. Also note that conversion is an important step, touching everything on your
drive. When you take a big step, no matter how unlikely it is
always possible that something can go wrong. For this reason, there

Drop database connectable to including the file system data sheets files
I did experiments with the connectable Oracle12c to database functionality and have noticed that when I "drop database connectable to pdb1 including datafiles', I get the message that the database snap-in has been dropped." I also see that all files in the tablespace for the PDB except the SYSTEM data file have been deleted.
I want to remove the folder that has been used for the pluggable database after that the PDB fell, but cannot because the file SYSTEM data is left behind. Is it possible to delete the data file SYSTEM for a pluggable database once he fell? Or this part forever from the database of the container?
Thank you

Oracle WebCenter content allows you to export all content database on the file system?
un) I read through the links to understand the properties of table FileCache:
(i) management of a system of storage of files - 11 g Release 1 (11.1.1)
(II) 3.5 Configuration of a system of Bank
I need to clear all user content (refunds) stored in the database (assuming that the storage Type is defined as JDBC) on the file system for a period of time, but don't know how to do step by step. Only fragments of information are present in the links above.
b) I also understand that the content uploaded by the user on the content of WebCenter when the storage Type is defined as JDBC are stored down LOBs format. But is there a way to encrypt content before storing them in the database. I read this link:
https://blogs.Oracle.com/fusionecm/entry/ucm_and_11g_db_securefiles
But simply make the filestorage table as being encrypted, it will encrypt all content that the user downloads?
Hey there,
You can export your file system content using utility to archive it.
not sure the second part but I think that all the documents would get encrypted.
see you soon,
