filter anonymous internet requests

I use a linksys wrt600N with version of easylink advisor 1.6.0042. I am trying to install a video camera and the manual says under "known issues": LinkSys routers have a default setting in the menu called firewall "filter requests anonymous Internet". If you want to access your camera on the internet you have to uncheck this option. »

I see this option in the WRT600N manual, but it refers to a selection of software that I did not.

I went to the site and downloaded the latest version of the software, and I don't always have the choice to uncheck this option.

What do you recommend?

Throw the Easy Link Advisor in the trash.  Just go to your router at 192.168.1.1 empty password, username "admin" (or whatever it is you did).  Now access your router manually as all.

Why is - this happens when I open documents using Mac advertising agency and I'm on PC?

    Hi Mikael,

files have been archived in archive zip-file when transferred via the ftp protocol? I guess, not.

If the files were already placed in a document, InDesign on the agency side the following workflow might be the solution:

    Office on Mac OSX:

1 package the InDesign document, as well as placed images and fonts of the necessary document with InDesign packing device.

    2. the folder packed in a zip zip file.

    3. download the zip file to an ftp server

    You on Windows:

    1. download the zipfile to your own workload.

2 unzip the zip on your workload. Do not delete the zip file.

    3. rename the folder of the package to fit your scheme of naming of jobs (option)

4 rename the InDesign document to adapt to your schema naming of jobs (option)

    5. open the InDesign file in the packed file.

Do not move or save somewhere else.

    Alternative:

Work with Dropbox to share documents on a shared volume of Dropbox, if documents must move forward and backward between you and the Agency.

  • Degradation of internet WRT110

I have a PC and a laptop (the two valleys on Vista).  The PC is connected to to the WRT110 and the laptop is wireless.  Provider is Time Warner (Kansas City).  When I do a speed test on computers (through the router), it is generally between 3.5 and 5.0.  I called Time Warner and at the suggestion of the technology on the phone, I unplugged the connection of the cable to the router and directly to the PC.  When I ran the same test of speed, she came significantly closer to the announced 7 MB.  He did not go with the laptop, but guess I would get the same results.

    http://www.Speedtest.net/result/626291619.PNG

It's my first router wireless, so my question is... is this normal for a router to degrade an internet connection so significantly?  I expect that the mobile wireless can be a bit slow, but I was stunned (and frankly, quite irritated) that the PC wired directly to the router is affected.  Any ideas?  Thank you!  Jason

You won't get the same exact speed of the router... that you are getting the modem because the router is somehow a firewall.

Although try the following settings on the router...

    -Change the MTU to 1300.

-Change the band Radio of Standard - 20 MHz and the Standard 11 - 2, 462 GHz channel.

-Uncheck the box filter anonymous Internet requests on the Security tab.

-The tab settings of Advance Wireless... Change the interval of tag to 75.

Keep updated on the router firmware. You can download the latest firmware from www.linksys.com/downloads.On configuration page, click on the Administration tab, update the firmware.

  • Internet high speed falls 85% when it is routed via WRT160NL

I have a WRT160NL, and it decreases my internet speed of 3700 Kbps up to 550 Kbps when I walk by it.

My ADSL modem is connected via an ethernet cable to the WRT160NL, then I have an ethernet cable from port the WRT160NL #1 to my desktop. With this connection, I get a download of about 550 kbit/s.

When I route directly from my ADSL modem to my office (bypassing the WRT160NL) my download speed is 3700 Kbps. I checked all the cables and connections. What is the origin down to 85% of the speed?

    Thank you

When you face the problem on your wired computer, you change the settings of your router... Once you log in to the router configuration page... The installation program you will find the MTU size that will be set to AUTOMATIC if you need to change it to manual and change the size of 1500 in 1365 and click on save settings... Click on the Security tab and disable "SPI Firewall" and uncheck "Filter anonymous Internet requests" and click on save settings...

Now, you must power cycle your network... Disconnect the power from the router and Modem, wait 30 seconds, then reconnect the power to the Modem, once all the lights are the cover on the Modem, then connect the power supply to the Linksys router...

Now, you can check the speed, the speed you get it on your computer...

If you are still having the same problem then I think that you need to update the firmware on your router... Go to the Web site template linksysbycisco.com/downloads...insert in your serach tab... select the correct version of your router router... Download the firmware file... save this file on the desktop...

Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware of the device: -.
Open a page in Internet Explorer browser on a computer hard wired to the router... In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1... Leave name empty username & password admin lowercase usage...
Click the 'Administration' tab - then click on the 'Upgrade Firmware' under the tab-here, click on 'Browse' and navigate the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait a few seconds until it shows that "the update is successful," after the upgrade of the firmware, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned to the same page OR it will say 'cannot display the Page.

    Now reset your router:
Press and hold the button of reset for 30 seconds... Release the reset button... Unplug the power cable from your router, wait 30 seconds and reconnect the power cable... Now re - configure your router...

  • WUMC710 lost connection

    Hello

I had two WUMC710 bridges, associated with an EA6500.  One is mainly used for a desktop pc to a place where I did not have a planned RJ45 plug. The other bridge is used for my Media Center Dune & blue ray player.

If 1 is mainly used for the file transfer & surf.  The other is used to get information (images) of the SIN and display through the Dune Media Player.

Both are configured the exactly the same thing.  No problem with the 1st bridge.  2 loses connection from time to time and must be launched regularly.

Is anyone have an idea to avoid this?

problem has been resolved by Cisco technical support Alex leaving me to uncheck the internet filters in "the" security section of the EA6500 router.  "Filter anonymous internet requests" and "Filter ident (port 113)" have been unchecked.

After you change these settings on the router, I have largely transferred files in both directions on the bridge at the same time, by downloading from the internet.  Before it was not yet possible in one direction.

  • Packet ICMP of Linksys outside x 3000

    Dear people,

At this moment we have a Linksys x 3000 configured as a modem on a connection ADSL (PPPoA)
Since our monitoring server, we send ICMP packets to see if the connection is active (or not).
The problem is when we turn off the SP1 ipV4 firewall and do not check the: "Filter anonymous Internet requests," we are still getting timeout of external guests don't. Is this a bug? And if not; How can we enable the ping from outside networks?
We really want to allow Ping because the monitoring software.

The firmware is the latest version: 1.0.0.1

  • E1000 - two routers come... 1 network leaves...

Yes, he stole from Thunderdome, but he's not going to my question. I have 2 e1000s and bring them all to two internet are relatively simple. What is not so simple, for me, is to see these two places (each router & computers) as a major network, I can do the little file sharing. Two routers are connected via a CAT5 cable long enough. However, I will use different operating systems with them (Liunx, Windows, OS x, Android, XBox360, etc.) and I need them all see each other at both ends. I want them to leave with a nice, clean for the first router 192.168.1.1 and ask the second associated as 192.168.1.2 (using MAC address... reservations IF possible). I guess that the installer on the second router will have to be done manually and the DHCP should 'probably' be disabled so the first router can assign all IP # s. problem is, I'm not on my period on the manual configuration of the second router. I have tried setting up and had this message on the IP address of the router in router subnet 1 s 2. The last time I did any 'real' network has more than ten years and I'm rusty on all this. Basically I have not sat down and read the books involving all this because that, even if I am amazing on learning by example, I have a bit of a learning issue with books... she sucks and I am one of those who simply cannot get certain techno-jargon to stay in my brain, unless someone it simplifies a bit. Can someone point me in the right direction to sorta? PS - until I get all these answers to 'use the search engine', I already did. But a search engine can be one of two things, useful or useless depending on the person knowing the right words to use (and I obviously didn't). Again, it is a problem for me in some cases. If someone knows the answer, I'll be very grateful and I'll be more than happy to say 'thank you '. If you don't know the answer, just be an adult and leave that would be.

  • Port forwarding does not work on EA6900

Please help me to know what is the reason for this port forwarding does not work on my Linksys router:

    Model: EA6900 v1.1
    Firmware version: 1.1.42.161129

I've set up two ports: TCP 22 and 8070 TCP to 192.168.1.10. (192.168.1.10 is up and running, I can reach the LAN ports).

Yesterday, I had a live chat with Linksys support we tried to re - download the firmware even, but that did not help. Then factory reset and reconfigure the router did not help either.

Unchecking "Filter anonymous Internet requests" and disable uPNP didn't help either (they have been suggested in similar topics).

However, the IP displayed tab troubleshooting/Diagnostics reflect my external IP address (the IP displayed by http://whatismyip.com), which is weird, because I never have IP from my ISP from 100, that is displayed on the Diagnostics tab. So I guess it's a fake display or it relates to access to my router via www.linksyssamrtwifi.com ?

Anyway I tried the two IPs from the outside, but the transfer simply doesn't work. (It works fine when I use my old router TP-Link).

    Please advise!

Sorry guys, it seems indeed a double NAT problem. My ISP can detected MAC address change when I started using EA6900 (thinking that I couldn't not need public IP?) and since then he sends me IPs for NAT - ed. It is strange that the same day, he was working with my old router, but now it is even not working with my old router and not even working when I connect directly to my windows PC to my ISP (via PPPoE). I called their support line and they said that they will solve this problem within 72 hours. In any case, thanks for your help!

  • E3200 and Buffalo NAS drive connection

I recently upgraded to the E3200 of an older linksys router linksys wireless router.  I have a Buffalo NAS drive connected to one of the ethernet ports.  When I access the NAS from my computer (wireless connection), it is extremely slow to load the icons of directories and files not to mention to recover a file.  I mainly photos/music etc on the NAS.   Internet connection is fine and I don't have this problem with older router.

Not sure if I need to tweak the settings of the wireless router or if it is something with Windows 7 (although my computer has not changed, only the router).

    Suggestions?  Thanks in advance.

    Try these troubleshooting steps:

[A] with the help of the Cisco Connect software (if at all, you have installed the router using this software)

1] open the software and go to the option that says "settings of the router.

[2] then click on the option that says 'Advanced settings', which will take you to the router configuration page.

[3] on the same set up page reduce the MTU size to 1400 auto.

[4] then click on disable SPI Firewall Protection Security tab, uncheck the box filter anonymous Internet requests...

[B] If you have not installed Cisco connect then you can connect to the router's user interface using its default IP address in the browser which is 192.168.1.1 and enter "admin" as password empty username field. This will take to the web interface of the router and then follow the steps as indicated above to make the changes.

Then check the status of speed...

  • Impossible to access remotely to Zoneminder on port 80

I have a Cisco Linksys E2500 modem and I can't access Zoneminder which is basically a Linux video security DVR software package.  It runs on a Ubuntu Linux server.

I have HTTP port 80 forwarded to the address static IP of the server Ubuntu but I repeatedly get an error indicating that the connection has expired whenever I try to access Zoneminder remotely as in access it remotely from a coffee shop.

I have absolutely no problem to access the Zoneminder when I on my home LAN.

I can access other software from remote sites on the parameters of the port 4369 with a favorite TCP protocol.  In other words, 4369 port is forwarded to an another Windows workstation with a static IP address assigned. Absolutely no problem with 4369 port forwarding.

Also, I tried port 80 on the site, YouGetSignal, which is used to test port forwarding.  The Web site indicates that port 80 is closed.  But when I test port 4369, the site indicates that the port is open.  Zoneminder that uses port 80 is fully operational when I test port 80 via YouGetsignal.

My ISP told me that they do not block the ports including port 80.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thanx
