  There are three things you can do.

  * Stick with WMP11, re - download the file and re-install on top of himself. Who can fix whatever your problem.

  2 are you facing this problem only with a particular video file?

  3. have you made changes to your computer recently?

  To fix it, simply remove your old library files. Then have Windows Media Player find your new files. It will not destroy your music files.

  How to get WMP to re - index your music:

  1. close Microsoft Media Player.
  2. click on Start and then run
  3. in the box, type the following:
  [list] %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player

  4. click on OK and a folder containing your library files will be displayed
  5. delete all files ending with .wmdb
  6. open Microsoft Media Player
  7. press F3
  8. Select the addresses of your music files
  9 WMP will re-index your music.

• Windows Media Player 12 has stopped working.

  Windows Media Player 12 has stopped working. When I select an audio track and click on the play button, a red X appears next to the title in the playlist. I uninstalled and reinstalled the player, but also update the drivers. Checking the properties through the device manager says that the device is working properly, but this clearly isn't.   Step 2: Rebuild the Media player library

  a. exit Windows Media Player.

  b. Click Start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player and then click OK.

  c. Select all files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.

  d. Note you don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

  e. restart Windows Media Player.

  Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

  Step 3: If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

  a. exit Windows Media Player.

  b. Click Start, click Run, type % LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft and then click OK.

  c. Select the Media Player folder, and then click on Delete on the file menu.

  d. restart Windows Media Player.

  It is a minor - but annoying problem (for me!). A few days ago the visualization of Media Player has stopped working when the player throws. This only applies to reading CD - with music files, viewing seems to work OK.   EDITED RESPONSE: Thanks for your reply. I cracked the problem, I think. It seems that the visualization problem occurs when you use the Media Player in the Program Files (x 86) folder but does not when using Media Player in Program Files.

  So I changed the entry in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AudioCD\shell\play\command

  of ' %ProgramFiles% (x 86) %\Windows Media Player \wmplayer.exe ' /prefetch:3 /device:AudioCD '% '.

  for '%ProgramFiles%\Windows Media Player \wmplayer.exe' /prefetch:3 /device:AudioCD '% '.

  In addition, the AutoPlay options list Media Player twice, and one of them is probably the version in Program Files and the other in Program Files (x 86). Choose one that suits (by trial and error) Gets the visualizations to work when the disc starts to play.

  I have no idea why this should be. In all other respects Media Player from two locations works very well.

  NEW EDIT: I discovered since ProgramFiles (x 86) content Media Player version 12.0.9100.16578 and ProgramFiles listed 12.0.9100.16579. So I put the latest version of the program in both files and the problem disappeared. There is now that one option in the list of automatic game options and registry changes are not needed. Of course, I had the pleasure of dealing with flipping permission settings before that Windows would allow me to make changes on MY OWN computer, which I bought and paid for.

  or create a new folder on the desktop right click on empty office create new folder give name - find all music-sending it all to new folder. - then WMP add to lib - this new folder.

  Once you have a library of wmp for music - click on burn select that you want to insert a cd burner not a re-writer - and burn.
