Find a character

I recently had to reinstall Firefox, and I'll try to find the character I've had on this subject (I don't remember the name unfortunately). It looks like the character of Dark Light, but he also changed the colors of the menu to be too dark. Does anyone know this character?

There are thousands of persona, not sure you you're meaning, but you can search on https://www.getpersonas.com

  • How to find the character / change size?

Customer request goes like this.  Change all trademarks and balls to pt 7.

The document is huge and will take forever.  Is it possible to do this with an advanced find/replace script?

Maybe something I'm on fast application?

Help ~ I really don't want to have to finger through this whole doc.

Use the tab of GREP Find/Change.IN find it what field enter 8 ~ | ~ r (it's the tilde-eight-vertical bar-tilde-r). Let the change to blank or enter $0 and in changing the formatting Click on basic character Formats and set the size. Define the scope of the search and all of the changes.

  • Find/replace character tags

Hi, I have a long document that uses a lot of bold text, but not always with the character's "BOLD" tag applied. A large part of the formatting was made "on the fly" purchase hit Ctrl-B. I would like to find all occurrences of the "BOLD" text with no character labels apply and modify them so that the bold tag is applied to all. I tried to copy each example and conclusion/change, but it doesn't seem to work. Is this possible? Any tips? Thank you, Simon

    It's not too bad.

First, apply the tag word character. Place the cursor in the word, but do not select it. Make a special copy > character Format to put your "BOLD" tag on the Clipboard.

Place the cursor somewhere in a string that has been implemented with the substitution of command-B. Do a find > character (NO tag) Format. A dialog box appears showing the attributes of the text.

Set replace them from the Clipboard.

Do a find and replace test manual to make sure it's doing what you want. Then turn it loose. He will probably find and replace all existing channels of the tag of character as well as replacements, but no harm done.

  • How do you find your character of Microsoft Windows XP 25 # license?

I just bought a mac and I need Microsoft license # out of my old dell computer. Where do you find the license 25 characters # (which I need to complete the installation of the VMware software that allows you to run windows on a mac.

You need a license to run XP on/in any computer/software.

If XP is preinstalled on your Dell computer, it is classified as an OEM license and is not transferable.

The license of XP OEM is related to the original computer it is installed on and dies with the computer.
You cannot transfer it to another computer/laptop

  • How can I find character applied to a particular paragraph styles

I have to loop through the paragraphs in my InDesign document and for each of them, to see what character styles are applied in the paragraph. For a given paragraph, how can I find the character applied to the paragraph styles? Thank you very much.

    Rick Quatro

    Hmmm, not-so-easy. Thinking out loud:

All objects of 'Text' generally have a "appliedCharacterStyle" property, but curious to this (and all other properties) when there is a multiple applied to the element that you are curious - in your case, according to paragraph - will lead to is a (null) or just pop up an error message.

Try a loop on his TextStyleRanges. It has a few drawbacks: first, you will visit each kind of substitution, regardless of how it is applied. and secondly, I believe that this property in its current incarnation is suffering from a bug tiny weeny, eeny, where the final text style range will be happily 'leave' the current paragraph and continue in the following, if formatting is unchanged.

I have to try to be sure, but I think that even a completely empty character style will be reported as a separate 'Beach'. But note that the reverse is not true: not all distinct ranges is a style of its own character. any manual formatting within a text character style will appear to "split" the character style range in two or more parts.

  • What is the sort order used Finder?

I did a little research on this issue and found that (unless I'm missing something), the sort order of the Finder is not what it is supposed to be.

The only requirement that I found is this note archived tech how Finder lists items that are sorted by name (Mac OS X) from 2012.

In fact, almost everything what he described how Finder behaves, with the exception of the note at the bottom:

Technically speaking, the Finder sort is based on the Unicode snack Algorithm, defined by the Unicode Consortium. This standard provides an order for all characters in Unicode sorting complete and unambiguous

And that complicates matters, since (for example) the underscore character (officially called "bass line"), which sorts upwards and so before all alphanumeric value Unicode of U005F, which lies between the uppercase and lowercase Latin letters: 'Z' is U005A and 'a' corresponds to U0061.

The reason I ask is because I would like to find a character that sorts after all Latin characters.  Many sort to before, including < space >, stress / < low line > and (my favorite for folders) < pointing right angle double quote > (i.e. "'").

If it was really sort by Unicode, then it would be simple to use the selector of characters to insert a Unicode character value, such as U25B9, which is "▹.  "But we sort after space <>, < low line >, and" ' ", but before all Latin characters.

I found an abstract character who works here for this, but I am helpless about the why.  U1400 is the Unicode section called "Unified Canadian Aboriginal syllable", and U1433, the "Canadian syllable Po", is a character who appears in the Finder as a very big plus of symbol: "ᐳ." (More than the symbol is ' > ' for comparison.)

    Yes WHY?

Why think the Finder that's good (partial) order:

    U0020 "" (space)

    U005F '_' (bass line) < underscore >

"U00BB '" ' (pointing to the right angle double quote)

    U005C "------" (Reverse Solidus) < backslash >

U25B7 "▷" (white triangle pointing to the right)

    U0041 "A".

    U007A 'z '.

    U1433 "ᐳ" (Canadian syllable Po)

Note: I see that note technical I linked to refers to the "Unicode snack Algorithm", which could indicate the answer somewhere in its depths.  If this is the case, then I guess this raises the question of why the Unicode coalition choose such an unexpected algorithm.

Your "Note" has the answer.  Sorting of Unicode is not determined by the values of code as such point, it is determined by the algorithm.  This can be quite complex, but I think an easy way of having things to sort after Latin is to use a Greek character as µ (m option).

  • Problem with search and find

    Hello

When I do a search on the character of p. grep

    InDesign find the character

    PA

instead. And it won't. What is the problem and how can I solve this problem?

    Would appreciate your help.

    With regard to Camille

If you are looking for a letter p followed by a period (per), then the search should be

    p\.

the period without the escape character in Grep will find [character]

  • The different paragraph of distinct character style formatting

    Hello

In my paper, I have bunch of paragraphs and each begins with the name (two or three words). Character style is applied to each name. Now, I want to add the paragraph after each name of each mark is so in its own paragraph. Of course, I can do it manually, hitting enter after each name, but I was wondering if there is a more efficient way through search/replace or perhaps GREP.

    Thank you!

    m

Try this on a copy to be sure, but I think finding ^. + and set the format to find the character style, and then change to $0, you can also set the change of any character Style Format and a new paragraph Style that is applied by the character style formatting.

This will probably leave you with a space at the end of the paragraph, or the beginning of the next. The location will depend on if the style is applied to the space. If this is the end of the paragraph, you can use find find ^(.+) (\s) and change to $1

If it's at the beginning of the next paragraph, in my opinion, you need a second query, Find ^ /s (leave find it empty format or the value initially attributed the paragraph style) and do not fill the field exchange.
