Find my friends type app

Does anyone know a find my friends similar app that can be installed on the iphone 3gs ios 6.1.6 or more? I know there are similar apps out there, but I like the way that find my friends functions. I don't have to open a browser window and then download the map etc etc. Find my friends shows you in real time where your friends or family members. I need this app for my elderly father of 81.

Thanks in advance!

I can't answer your question directly, but I can give you another idea.  "Find my iPhone" work with the iPhone?  If so, it's a better (closer in real time and usually more accurate) than to find friends.

No, I don't understand why two seemingly identical functions give different results.

So yesterday, there was an update pushed to find my friends and Podcasts. So when I try to update it says "my friends is available on IOS." To get to find my friends, get on the App Store on your iOS device. "(it's on my iTunes on my mac).

I would like to know where to find a friend app has been installed on my phone and who else is listed on it? I would love the history of this app on my phone for today's date, please. I changed my phone a couple of times, because the application was initially installed, but I can't work when it has been installed or that has first been listed on it... where I'd get that information from? I do my back ups on my laptop that uses OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.4 on iTunes. Thank you.

Locate the app in iTunes > window Apps, select it, and press Cmd + I to get info. The file tab should show which account it was acquired on and when. Another I don't think that there is no history, that you can get. All you can see is a current list of those you follow and you allowed to follow you.

My first question is several iPhones family connect using the same identifier Apple to iCloud services could use the 'find My Friends' to track each position of Member of the family?  We use the same Apple ID in my family and the "share my location of" selection or the check box automatically changes when one of the other iPhones is chosen to the different "origin."

Are we not supposed to sign in using the same Apple ID so that 'Find My Friends' at work?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello antoniofromrichmond,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support. I see you are trying to use find friends with an Apple ID, that you share with the family. This is a great app and I want to help make it work as expected.

For this app to work effectively, it is best that you use separate Apple ID. Here is some information on the application to find my friends:

A number of applications that are now built into iOS (find friends, Podcasts, etc.) are not currently available on the App Store on iTunes from the computer - simply ignore the update of the application (you can remove the application from my Apps, but not delete the actual Mac .ipa file, so that it does not appear, you can always drag the .ipa later if you have a device with an older version of iOS on; if your devices) iOS are on a sufficient iOS version you cannot update this app anyway without updating the iOS device version)
