Find Word documents hidden in Windows 7
My Word documents are appearing in recent Documents, but they are not in the document library. Also, when I try to search all files on computer .docx, nothing comes back. However, if I open Word, I can see the documents in my list of shortcuts. How can I recover my Word documents? Note: I recently had to restore to an earlier point. I read that this would not affect my documents, however.
Using McAfee? Maybe that's your problem.
There were many posts that seem to say that McAfee or one of its updates caused files become hidden
See this from McAfee

Go to the control panel and select Folder Options.
Select show.
Select the files, folders and drives.
Documents should now be visible.
You can permanently display by accessing the properties of each documents

Word document open in Windows Mail - recorded while the work can't return
I opened a Word document, use the Save button all working. Finish, but could not find him. I never saved the document in 'My Documents'. Must have registered somewhere, but where should I find it.
It is somewhere between quite unlikely and very little probable that you will find anywhere. When you open a document from the email that you open a temporary copy of the file, and unless you use "Save as" to save to a network drive or a location on your hard drive, this temporary copy is the one that is being updated. In general, as soon as you close the e-mail message or e-mail program, the temporary copy went forever.
You could try a search on your hard drive, including indexed and hidden locations and the files system and records, but it is not likely that you will find.
writing in the new message: * e-mail address is removed from the privacy... * I opened a Word document, use the Save button all working. Finish, but could not find him. I never saved the document in 'My Documents'. Must have registered somewhere, but where should I find it.

Adobe Reader DC working if I open MS Word document after installing Windows 10
Hello
I have MS office 2007. Pdf files do not open if I have MS Word open. Similarly, the pdf files automatically closes if I open a Word file and then move the cursor over the open pdf file. I tried to install the two adobe reader 11 and DC. Interestingly, the pdf file opened (with simultaneous MS Word file) if I use adobe reader 8. This problem showed up today. I use windows 7 and put to level to windows 10 last week. No idea why this is happening.
Thanks in advance.
SID
Hey Sid,.
Could you run the cleanup tool Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat cleaning - Adobe Labs tool first remove any versions of Reader installed on your computer, and then reinstall CD player.
After installation, launch Reader and try to disable the Protected Mode under ' Edit > preferences > (protection) "and see if that helps.
Let me know.
Kind regards

where can I find my document saved that I worked from an e-mail, and then saved using backup on the Word icon?
Here are two things to try:The file is saved in the Temporary Internet Files folder. To locate the path, open the attachment to new then, and now Alt, press F, and to open the Save as window. In the save window slot, right-click on another file in the list, and then click Properties. On the general tab, copy the full path to the location. Then, open a Windows Explorer window and paste the path copied into the address field. This is where the edited file was saved.Since ChristmasCopy this line:
Search-MS:DisplayName=temp%20Files&crumb=ext%3AZZZ*&crumb=location:shell:cache%5CContent.IE5
Now press Windows-E, Ctrl-Alt-D-V
ZZZ change to the extension of the file you edited, and then press enter.
This should show all the recently saved files in temporary Internet files with this extension. Good luck!
PS Si the file is, please copy in your documents folder before anything else. Open the copy to work.

LEARNING OF BATCH FILES AND WINDOWS CANNOT FIND ' C:\DOCUMENTS'__
Technical info: Windows XP Pro SP 2. Microsft Office home and Student 2007. AVG Free 9.0.
Hello
I am trying to learn the basics of Batch files and am confused right now. I can get a. BAT file to produce a BACK screen and play with some commands, but when I try to get a. BAT file to open a MS Word 07 Doc I get the following message
Windows cannot find 'C:\Documents '. It stops at Documents. When infact the entire address would include Documents\testdoc or something else. I use Notepad to write the. BAT files.
If I go into the file target itself and copy and paste the address in XP search utility, it locates the file (with a full name), instantly. But if I do the same copy and paste, paste the address directly in. BAT file for example: C:\windows, DEPARTURE etc etc... It is just straight up with the above mentioned error message.
All advice forge kindly appreciated. My ultimate goal is to learn how to create a Batch file that will erase the files in different directories about five or six on the click of a button.
Thanks Mick.
I'm not an expert in writing .bat files. If no one else is here, you should post on the MSDN forums or there may be a group of newsgroups for .bat file writing.

If you use Norton, disable it before using the system restore.
If it is impossible to enter the Normal Mode, do a Safe Mode system restore:

System restore steps according to the info above.
Also:
2. click on start > right click on computer > properties > Windows updates down the lower left corner > updates installed in the lower left corner in the next window
> then click the one that you don't want > uninstall will appear at the top > uninstall it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In addition, on the page where you clicked "Installed updates", click on change settings at the top left corner it
How to search for a Word document in Windows 8?
I'm stumbling around Windows 8 that came pre-loaded on my new laptop. I ordered Windows and Excel to be included in the package. I saved a number of documents in Word, and now I need to get these documents for a particular. I looked on the Internet and found a lot of no-help, that is to say, 'go in search of a file'. Excuse me, but if I could find searching a file, I could probably find out how to search for the file, Huh? Thus,.
Could someone please help me with: how to find a Word document (1) and (2) where is the infamous "search"?
I did the thing 'sweep to the right side of the screen"to get those things shadow to appear, and click on the magnifying glass (which I think the engineers forgot to change when they changed everything!) and if I wanted to search for apps, I'd be in great shape. But his files I'm looking for, Word documents. The designers of this 'new' version improved - well, new, in all cases seem to have forgotten those of use who use computers for productive work and not socialize or play games.
Sorry for the hike and whining, but I'm very frustrated that the tasks that were once very simple are now extremely difficult to fill.
It's pretty easy, at the beginning screen just type the name of your document and right it will bring the search screen and you select files (files, settings, Apps). Take a look at:
Half of my Word document disappeared while I was working on it. I tried to use the back arrow to recover, but Word is closed. How can I find the history of the document so I can revert to a saved version the earlier?
I hope that you have a Time Machine backup that you can use to revert to a previous version. If it is then maybe you shared the document with someone else by e-mail and get get an old copy of your sent e-mail.
Number of words in document displayed in Windows Explorer does not.
When I had Vista, I really liked the fact that Windows Explorer displays the number of words in a Word document using the «Détails» Until I realized that, without apparent reason, it displays the number of words sometimes change to one that is totally wrong - without the actual document being altered (i.e. number displayed in the Explorer of words = 2544, true account of the words document = 3655).
The only way to solve this problem is by opening the document, undertake a different number of words, and then save the file again.
Anyone has an idea why this could happen and, more important still, how I can stop what is happening in the future?
It's function is useful is that I've noticed since the evolution of XP and I bought Word 2007 specifically so that I could use this feature (replacing the, apparently perfectly good and free Open Office software).
Please respost your question in the Discussion of the Office group at: http://www.microsoft.com/office/community/en-us/default.mspx?dg=microsoft.public.word.docmanagement&lang=en&cr=US where people who specialize in Microsoft Word and its issues (and this seems to be one of them) will be more than happy to help you with your problem.
I can't paste clip art into windows mail. (do not give me the option.) I copied the clipart in Word document. I use IE8, IE9, but unnstalled have in the hope of resolving the problem. Thank you, Pam
You cannot copy and paste images (especially the cliparts) of the word. You need to refer to a disk image. So use Insert | Picture to insert the image. The image must also be a format that IE can display, as it is used to show messages in WinMail.
IE9 is not a problem for that. See here for IE9 questions: www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#15
Windows Explorer preview pane function hangs Word when trying to preview Word documents.
I have a problem with the Windows Explorer and the preview pane. When I activate the pane at the bottom and try to view a Word Document it blocks Word even if Word is not open. What happens on Windows 7 x 64 systems, we have many systems with the same question. Does anyone have a solution?
I tried the SFC/scannow, start in safe mode, disabling startup items and Services, and it happens again every time I try to get a glimpse of a Word document.
Thank you
Joe
