Fingerprint reader can be attached on my T400?
Hello world
Before I bought my T400 (without a fingerprint reader), I tried one but I forgot it.
Once, I opened my laptop and I thought that I can ask for the part which includes the fingerprint reader and throw my existing touchpad...
Is someone can you please tell me if this is possible?
Thank you
Chris
Yes, you can attach a palmrest with fingerprints on your T400, as a direct replacement for the palm-rest of your current T400.

X 1 carbon Touch Fingerprint reader 'can not find the fingerprint sensor device' e7210005
Hi all
I have spent far too long trying to solve this problem by myself and need to reach out to someone who may have solved this problem. I read tons of questions similar online and restarted from dozens of times after trying many different things.
I have a carbon 3444-GCU Touch who can not see his fingerprint reader. It used to work when it is brand new, but after many updates from lenovo and windows, it now does not work:
I'm on Windows 8.1, with all updates.
No problem in Device Manager.
Coprocessor (WBF advanced mode) Fingerprint TouchChip installed under thin biometric devices.
_Not_ power management value disable device to save power.
The bios is 2.61.
I suspect that the problem is very low, because even the BIOS can not find the device trying to implement.
If I have the lates BIOS, but it can't see the camera - what can I do?
Thank you all...
you have a faulty drive.

If anyone can help?

Hello
For 2170p, this should be a part of this replacement kit, 693349-001, SPS-FINGERPRINT READER with CABLE.
You can contact the local call center to buy this replacement kit.
It will be useful.
Thank you for choosing HP laptop.
You can buy it directly from HP here: http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?SearchText=693349-001

Fingerprint reader not working not not after sleep
So, I've mentioned this problem in a previous post and was directed here http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-67245 which is a patch that could solve this. This patch did not work. What happens when my laptop back to sleep or the fingerprint reader does not, it says "waiting...". "the top of the screen instead of the normal scan message and don't answer not, or in some cases when I click on other identifying information, it shows a third account (first is my account, second is the account of the player, and the third is a thing stop sign that says that the fingerprint reader is not attached). When I connect with my normal password and try to go to the fingerprint software, it appears a bit is window that is labeled Digital Footprints Lenovo 2.0 and the message "Please wait...". ».
Other then returning to sleep the fingerprint reader has been working well. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, thank you.
Edited to add link patch.
Well, I was still functioning, but I'm not exactly sure how. I'm going on what I've been through so that you guys can get an idea and fix if necessary. To start I spoke to Ms support and I worked with them for a very long period. They tried different drivers installation (other AuthenTec then) and every time we did it he would say "Fingerprint reader is not available" at the opening of the session. They have tried to change the power settings and devices that could wake up from my computer and that had no effect either. I called Lenovo and they basically just told me to download the software that was already on the computer and change the option to have it wake up the computer, which does not exist. They were very helpful.
What eventualy get it working (and it's been working so far), is to uninstall the driver and software. Then reinstall everything and install the patch link above. The first time I install it, I just double clicked on it and went through the installation process. But you must go to the folder, he settled in (C:\DRIVERS\VISTA\FPIRPON\) and double click on FPIRPOn.reg which will add the fix in the registry. In addition to this I also went into the Device Manager and unchecked the box that allows the computer turn on of the fingerprint reader under properties-> the power management of the device. The last thing I did was make an edition of registry to force reset USB every time that wake from sleep. I found the registry change here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928631/en-us.
So I'm sure it's the patch that fixed when I installed correctly it because I tried both the thing of power management to prevent of turns off AND editing the registry and it did not work. I also thing that Vista SP1 solves what the registry edit did, but I tried anyway because I was desperate haha. I'll cancel the registry change and thing of management one of power at a time and see if it still works. If it does not continue to work I guess it's a hardware problem and want to call Lenovo to get it repaired.
Anyone who has this problem I would say that they are trying the patch in the link I posted (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-67245) and follow the installation instructions carefully. Good luck!

Can I put the Satellite P100-240 with internal fingerprint reader
I have a Satellite P100-240.
Although he did not come equipped with material to print finger scanning, it has clogged the hole in the box where he would go.
So I wonder, can I get the hardware scanning separately and adapt it to the laptop?I don't see any option for the material to be sold separately on the Tosh site and I'm not even sure who makes the hardware for them so I can source it independently.
Can we offer here advice or information on this operation?
Hello
You are right. Some P100 units support the fingerprint, and some units have been delivered without this feature.
As I m not wrong not these fingerprints can be upgradedBut to be 100% sure you should ask the local ASP (authorized service provider) for details.
But in my opinion you can not put the laptop with fingerprint reader.Good bye

Save the changes.
To remove the biometrics data for all users, click the option button (round) "off biometrics.

Compaq nc6400 upgraded xp to win 7 can not get the fingerprint reader to work
I have upgraded xp to win 7, as we will have to do, but can't get the fingerprint reader to work. It appears in the devices that there is one on the machine. I downloaded the drivers for Vista, but they got nowhere. Read in many places as Vista drivers will work but I seem to need more than that. Any clue? Thank you!!!
Hello:
Yes, for Vista fingerprint reader driver is the only one available, but you must install the software HP protect Manager security tools for Windows 7 from the model which succeeded the nc6400, who was the 6910p.
You must also use the W7 driver quick launch buttons.
If your computer laptop bluetooth, you need the W7 bluetooth software and driver...
And you can use the version of W7 HP wireless assistant software.
You can also read the manual tools security protect manager, so you can understand how to use the fingerprint reader.

Windows 7 can not get the fingerprint reader to show
I have a T500 I removed Vista and installed Windows 7. But now I can't the fingerprint reader will be displayed at sign in. I think that I have installed the driver, but it does not appear. I went into Device Manager and it seems to be responsible. Any ideas?
You need not fingerprint software from Lenovo. It's just another program that is running in the background.
Windows 7 has all the functions that the software Lenovo offers. Whether you use it or not, it's up to you.
in any case, to get the fingerprint logon to work, you must go into control panel > biometrics. Then you need to check "Allow connections to fingerprints" (or something of the sort). It will ask you to register to use fingers.
The next time you start your computer/log, you will be asked to use your fingerprint to log. It works exactly as it would if the Lenovo program was there (with the sole exception of the sliding-finger-to-boot-computer functionality).

Where can I use the fingerprint reader?
Hello.
Is it possible to use the Thinkpad T61 fingerprint reader, is to remind the user password in windows XP applications.
As Mozilla Firefox saved passwords Manager or some other programs "who need password"?
You can use Lenovo Thinkvantage Password manager to remember your passwords and then use fingerprints to log.
Password Manager can support HTML based Windows Internet Explorer, Firefox, Windows standard applications. It can not support Java-based Web pages.

I have a Microsoft (model 1033) fingerprint reader that works on XP but Win7 compatibility issue there. How I can install now, is there a solution? Please help me. Thank you.
Fingerprint reader, DigitalPersona model 1033
I can't install the driver and so unable to use "DigitalPersona Password Manager 2.0.Hi Ze,
Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.
I am sorry to say that Microsoft Fingerprint Reader is not compatible with the Windows 7 operating system from the link:
http://www.Microsoft.com/hardware/en-in/d/fingerprint-reader
You can install the drivers in compatibility mode and verification.
Most programs written for Windows Vista also work in this version of Windows, but some older programs might run poorly or not at all. If a program written for an earlier version of Windows does not work, you can try changing the compatibility of the program settings, either manually or by using the program compatibility problems.
Make older programs run in this version of Windows:

T400s model without fingerprint reader?
I want to ask questions about a particular model of line T400s - 2801-AHG. According to the information on the product (Support-> information) Lenovo Web site, it should have a fingerprint reader, but as I saw him, in one of the stores it is sold without it. Where I live (Russia) this model is called NSCAHRT, but in the back of the laptop TYPE remains 2801-AHG.
NSCAHRT means the type of specific model or group of models, or is it just an equivalent of 2801-AHG? Should have a fingerprint reader?
"Product: ThinkPad T400s 2801-AHG .
Operating system: Windows Vista

The model I bought was named T400s 'NSCAHRT' in the shop. I want to know, are there laptops with NSCAHRT part number that are not 2801-AHG? Or NSCAHRT == 2801-AHG?
Yes, NSCHRT is simply retail part number for the type of machine 2801-AHG / model number. These two numbers being different would result in a different configuration.

Can I still a (t420) fingerprint reader?
I recently bought a t420 and did install a windows cleaning 8.1. Everything works well except the fingerprint reader. I went through all that have the post about people of questions, but I'm starting to wonder if I have another one. Nothing is displayed in the Device Manager and trying to erase the fingerprint data in the bios it is not found either.
Is the Center middle button directly and especially the touchpad fingerprint reader (it has 7 white dots on it)?
N ° it is the middle button of the mouse on the trackpoint. If you have a fingerprint reader, what it would look like a visible location under the arrow key down
