Fingerprinting is on Satellite Pro U400-160 - specified database not found

Hello

Well, I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite Pro U400. The first day, I took my fingerprints, and all went well.
The next day, the software reinstalled himself for some reason any... and lost of my fingerprints.
So I went back to the software TrueSuite Access manager, but this time I had a problem!

' *' Error: specified database could not be found ' n ' exact error message no, something similar.*

I got this message, so I looked in this forum. I discovered that I could reinstall the software, so I did and got the last update, but it's the same thing.

I don't know what to do, I just installed Office 2007 since I was the computer, nothing else.

Help, please!
Thank you very much

You take the recovery disc and reinstall the OS using the Toshiba disc.
The laptop must be set to the factory settings/configuration and then you should check if the same error message again.

    I have a Satellite Pro U400-160.

I need to replace the battery and the charger of my Toshiba, but I am wary about compatibility issues.

Any battery for Satellite Pro U400 is suitable for mine?
As I can't find which batteries are specifically suitable for my computer.

(For example: is this a: http://www.amazon.es/Bater%C3%ADa-Toshiba-Satellite-U400-11V-7800mAh/dp/B0051A9Y88/ref=sr_1_cc_2?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1366885340&sr=1-2-catcorr&keywords=satellite+pro+u400?)

Is there a quick way to check if a battery / charger are compatible?

Each battery and adapter you get from Toshiba has specific part number. All you have to do is use this same part number and order. You should be able to find on the internet.
You can also get compatible parts you are ordering by the Toshiba authorized service provider in your country.

By the way: all U400 models have the same construction and the similar specifications then all the batteries specified for U400 can be used on your U400-160.

  • Re: Satellite Pro U400-160 - freezes when copying larger files or videos

    Hello:

I have a Satellite Pro U400-160 and a VERBATIM external hard drive USB eSATA combo.

If I turn on AHCI mode recognizes the drive, but when copying the video files or large file size, the system is frozen. However if I remove the mode AHCI works correctly. I have the version 9.8.9.1023 Intel (r) Matrix Storage Manager and my laptop BIOS v4.0 and Windows Vista Business.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Normally the AHCI mode has nothing to do with an external HARD drive. It is only important for the internal HARD disk if you install Windows.

Anyway, you have installed all the updates of Windows for Vista?
In addition, you should test another external HARD disk or with another cable.

  • Satellite Pro U400 - audio quality is not good

OK this problem has been plaging me for years. I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro U400 windows 8.1.

    The sound quality is terrible.
I can remember it's bad in windows 7.

Contextant driver is bad, and so is the generic driver windows 8.1.

    Help, please

To be honest, I have no idea what you mean exactly by the quality is terrible.
I've owned a notebook Satellite U400 happened and I have to say that the sound quality was quite good.

Satellite U400 is a small portable 13.3 and the speakers have been adjusted to the dimensions of the laptop.
The Conexant audio chip is part of the motherboard and you will not be able to replace it.

If you want to use another sound card, you can try to use an external USB audio interface.
I use this external sound solution for my home recording studio.

The audio interface is connected to the USB port of the laptop s and the external speakers are initiated for the external audio interface.

By the way: isn't Satellite U400 is the list of the supported 8.1 notebooks... Win so you won't find not all drivers Win 8.1 for this unit on the Toshiba driver website.

    Hello AF

It's really not easy to say how this problem can be solved. Usually the new facility could solve it. This kind of problems is not easy to repair on easy way. If you are a user with lots of experience I suggest you remove all records related to energy saving, even entries in regedit (be careful).

Then, try again to install energy-saving. Sorry but I have no other suggestions.

If you will be able to solve this problem please let me know.

  • Satellite Pro P300 - PSPCDA-01L00D - DVD not found after upgrade Windows 7

After a new installation of Windows 7 Home Premium, and then download the required drivers from the Toshiba support site there are problems with the DVD drive in my laptop.

I downloaded the app Toshiba DVD Player, which auto detects what version you need. After the application is running, I get the message "no installation Toshiba DVD could be found! You can only update a version already installed. »

How can I get the DVD player to be recognized, if the application will be installed. Currently the DVD player will not play DVD - that will be a problem for my daughter who use the laptop.

The driver Windows 7 page mentions too, updates will be available via Toshiba Service Station, but does provide no link. A search in the Web from Toshiba site fails to locate, where can I get this utility of?

What you have found on the Toshiba download page, it's just the update and not full version.

If you want to have really good player install VLC player. It's free and you can find Googling autour. This reader reads all video formats and I use it for a long time.

It reads the DVD without any problem.

Test it. If you n t it you can delete any it system.

  • Satellite Pro U400 and fingerprint software problem

    Hello!
Since a long time, my Fingerprint Software gave problems.
About 2 days after receipt of the computer, I started to get an error message saying "Specified Database not found" or "Hardware not found footprints" (something similar to messages!)

Because then I never really used it, but now, since the last update "Authentec", I thought that it can start working.
The problem is, once I installed the update, I get an error saying "Remove old version, given to zero computer.
So I did it, I removed the old TrueSuite Access Manager and restarted the computer.

Once restarted, the Autentec Installer (new updated) started to install, but give me again the same error message 'remove old version, given to zero computer.

I checked for the remains of the old software, but he found nothing.

I won't be formatting my computer to do this, is there another way I can fix this?
    Thank you

    Hello

I think the update found garbage in the registry and I think that after the Truesuite software has been removed, you must clean the operating system using the CCLeaner.
After cleaning the operating system and the registry, you must restart the laptop before you repeat the update procedure.

Maybe you should also install a newer version of Toshiba page before starting the update.

  • Re: Satellite Pro U400 - Windows could not start, how to recover?

I hope this is the right forum to display this property (if not, please let me know where I should post this) and nude w / a beginner like me. Any help or direction will be appreciated.

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro U400-160 is more than a year. I have not used a lot lately, because I usually use my netbook computer for day to day stuff, but the Toshiba contains some files I want to see lost. That's the message that came when I turned on my laptop for the last time:

"Unable to start Windows. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.
    To solve the problem:
    1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart the computer.
    2. choose your language settings, and then click Next.
    3. click on "repair your computer".

If you do not have the disk, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance

    File: \Boot\BCD
    Status: 0xc000000f
Info: An error occurred trying to read the boot configuration data. "

Usually, I store all my software as a whole but I recently changed from home and for the life of me, I can't find the Toshiba recovery system disk. Even if I did, however, which would mean losing all files on my computer?
My question is, is there a way to fix this without losing all data? Should I first try to save the data somehow and then solve the problem? And finally, how to solve this problem with/without the recovery CD?

Thanks in advance. Any help will be MUCH appreciated.
PS. This look is like a virus? What is a windows update that has corrupted some files?

    Hi monstarika,

You can access the Windows Advanced Boot menu and boot into safe mode?
If so try also to start the recovery of HARD drive if you choose fix my computer. If the operating system preinstalled by Toshiba is still installed, you can use this feature.

If this work of t doesn't and you don t have the recovery disc, you can order directly in an enw one of Toshiba. That s no problem because you can order it online here:

Can anyone help? And where can I get a replacement from? I have no recovery disks, like most of the GUY's, I have not read the instructions.

  • Satellite Pro U400 VISTA disk management has 6 primary partitions

    Hi all!

I have a strange effect on my Toshiba laptop Satellite Pro U400 (but it seems not to be specific to this one that I saw the same symptoms elsewhere, at the same time):

I had the laptop with a 320 GB drive with recovery-(invisible / "Configuration EISA", 1,46 Go) system (C:, ~ 150 GB) and data (E:, ~ 150 GB) volumes. It's the usual structure of Toshiba,

    pre-installed OS was Vista professional.

As I plan to install Linux in addition, I have done as a result of preparations:

    Recovery disc Vista created 1.).
2.) C: shrunk to ~ 100 GB using Vista disk management tool.
3.) E: shrunk to Go ~ 98 using Vista disk management tool.
It is suggested that 4.) E: directly behind C: using Parted Magic CD.

Finally I got a 97 GB of free space at the end of the disc, and everything worked well away. Creating an additional on the free area, Vista disk management, resulted in an extended partition created by Vista. This extended partition contained the extra volume as well as the free space remaining behind.

To prepare for installing Linux, I've finally created three logical Volumes inside the extended partition with Vista disk management tool.
After that, I had the following structure of the partition on the disk (indicated by the Vista Disk Manager):

    invisible 1.46 GB, primary
C:, ~ 100 GB NTFS, primary, active, System
    E:, ~ 98 GB NTFS, primary, data

~ 97 GB extended partition, containing:
2 GB unformatted (planned for Linux swap)
20 GB unformatted (planned for Linux root "/")
21 GB unformatted (planned for Linux "/ home")
    Empty remaining 54 GB space

    More on Vista worked properly!

Recently, I installed OpenSuse 11.1 using the volumes placed within extended partitions (user-specific configuration). The Installation worked correctly. Logical volumes have been formatted to

2 GB of swap (swap Linux, / dev/sda5)
    20 GB ext3 (Linux root ' / ' on/dev/sda6)
    21 GB unformatted (Linux "/ home" on/dev/sda6)

during the installation of Linux. Linux and Vista up and running with their scores. If I look at the hard drive with Linux' partitioning tool, I see three main partitions + range, as expected. The scope contains the Linux partitions + empty disk space.

    HOWEVER:
    ========

If I look at the hard drive with the Vista disk management tool now, I get the following image:

    invisible 1.46 GB, primary
C:, ~ 100 GB NTFS, primary, active, System
    E:, ~ 98 GB NTFS, primary, data
2 GB PRIMARY, no format info displayed
20 GB PRIMARY, no format info displayed
21 GB PRIMARY, no format info displayed
    Empty remaining 54 GB space

    This means:
VISTA DISK MANAGMENT ME PRESENT 6 PRIMARY PARTITIONS WITHOUT ANY COMPLAIN
Although a hard drive on the PC architecture usually only supports maximum 4 primary partitions.

    Issues related to the:

Have you ever seen a similar behavior?

Is this a bug of presentation in the Vista disk management tool?

Or is it a bug in formatting under Linux?

Is there a solution for this problem?

At present, the two BONES work very well. However, the disk will be get permanently damaged as soon as I try to create more partitions in the empty space left?

Sincere greetings and thanks for your comments.

    Girard

    > Have you ever see similar behavior?
    NO.

    > Is this a bug of presentation in the Vista disk management tool?
I doubt that it is a bug, I think you forgot something.

As far as I know you can create 4 partitions on the HARD drive and this is the reason why you have the ability to create an extended partition.
An extended partition can be divided into several logical drives.

That is why it s wise to create a primary partition for Windows OS for example and an extended partition, which can decompose the in logical drives (partitions) different.

However, I put t see a problem if everything works properly

    Thank you

    Hey,.

Theoretically, you can install each HARD drive with SATA 2.5 form factor interface in Satellite Pro U400.

If you install a new HARD drive in Satellite Pro U400, you must use the old disk cover/case HARD to install.
I put t know what you mean exactly with that, but maybe you can upload a photo to make it clearer.

Finally and above all it doesn t matter what company it comes. You can use a Toshiba or another company HARD disk too like Western Digital, Seagate, etc..
