Firefox 3.6.8 struggled to view the blogger site

Hi all

I hope someone can help. I run a website that I use blogger to update. Before I upgraded firefox 3.6.8 site went well. Now it's a mess. The text is scrunched up path to the left of each section as well as links, which are supposed to have custom colors are all set up the generic, boring blue (who now blends in the header bar so that you can not read). I still have Firefox 3.5.11 on my other machine and the site looks very good. It seems as well on the latest IE and Chrome. Is there a fix coding I can add to the blogger template to solve all these problems? Or Firefox brings a fix for this problem? I'm worried about all my website visitors who have the updated version of firefox having problems viewing my site.

Help, please!

That said, some of your style rules are ignored. If you check the Console error in Firefox (Tools menu) - for best results, click the clear button and then reload your page - you can see there is a problem with this rule (note the asymmetrical quotes):

#header {
background:url(http://www.blogpulp.com/imagehost/images/196653871.gif") no-repeat left bottom;
padding:0px 0px 0px;
}

If you work your way through the warnings in the console, I hope you can fix it.

  • How to prevent a specific page to view the suggested sites and top when you open a new tab?

    I like the feature of FF that displays top and suggested sites when opening a new tab. I use my laptop for work, for recreation. But as I share the office with co-workers, I don't want to have all the sites that I visit that are listed. No matter how many times I remove a specific site from the results, it keeps popping up.

    I'm sure that the addition of an option to prevent some sites never show it, would benefit a lot of users of FF, who share the same problem. I don't know that I'm one of many with the same problem.

    You can change the order of the boxes on the subject: newtab page and drag an item on a tile that is different to pin in this position or you can remove a Web site by clicking on the close X to block this URL.
    You can drag a bookmark item or the history of the sidebar and drop it into a tile on the subject: newtab page pin this point and have your own favorite sites.

    Changes manually on the subject: newtab page are stored in the preferences you can find on the about: config page.

    • Browser.newtabpage.pinned stores the Web site you pinned to a tile.
    • Browser.newtabpage.blocked stores the Web site that you've deleted by clicking on the X button in a tile.

  • How to prevent the address bar to view the same site twice

    Since your 43.0 update, whenever I type in a URL, it first shows me "visit [site]" then "[website]" by itself directly underneath. It is redundant and was not here before and I don't like it much.

    For example, when I type "t" in the address bar, it shows 'visit tumblr.com'first, then tumblr.com se below. How can I stop to say "visit [site]" and just display the site itself, as before?

  • How to activate a blocked addon or Plugin to view the Web site and content the same as IE

    I use a Java Plugin to run a java applet used to my work. Google Chrome has been recently supported by this plugin, I have clients who are unable to work in Internet Explorer and would like to offer them an alternative.

    I can only do so if all the features of my site works in Firefox. Currently, there are a few display issues experienced in Chrome and Firefox with the site. Only IE it appears correctly.

    Should this site Web the Java Deployment Toolkit plugin?
    Or just the main Java plugin?

    If the first, the best you can do is to tell your users to use 'ask to activate' for the plugin. Oracle has never corrected the flaws of Security reported with this plugin of deployment for a couple of years now; Firefox will not allow him to activate automatically when the user has even the latest, updated version of Java installed.

    Here are a few items of support that might help you a little.
    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/how-allow-Java-trusted-sites
    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/why-do-i-have-click-Activate-plugins

    Java is basically dead for all purposes useful otherwise than for Oracle applications. And Oracle work better on their own web browser for all platforms or Oracle business applications will appear on the tombstone with Java. I'm curious what will be their joint epitaph.

  • How can I get Firefox to allow me to go on the Facebook site, it blocks all attempts.

  • Firefox has suddenly start delay when accessing the secure site

    We have an application Java Tomcat 7 on Amazon Web Services EC2 server. The server is configured so that our application is the root application and is accessible from port 80. The application and the Tomcat are configured with SSL, so that whenever someone types in the url of the site (e.g. www.something.net) Tomcat will switch to HTTPS and use port 8443.
    This all works fine, but it seems that if for some reason any Firefox expires when accessing the site, it will never reconnect on the site and any attempt to connect using www.something.net indicates that the connection has expired. Yet if you put in the port number (for example, www.something.net:8443) happens immediately.
    I tried setting compensation in web cache content, defining the limit of cache to zero and by disabling web content offline. None of this has worked. Re-installing Firefox worked.
    We if the question was limited to Firefox, but we did eventually run run in on Chrome too. On Chrome, I was able to get the browser to connect to the site by going to settings > advanced > clear data of the browser and delete the browser history, download, history, cookies and cache of images and files. Once I did the site come immediately with www.something.net and switch to HTTPS as it is supposed to do.
    It took me several months to encounter this problem. But other users have encountered immediately (for example, when configuring a new machine).
    Anyone can shed some light on this? I saw some issues, but none of them had what contributed to my situation. Can anyone suggest a way to remove all that is prevent Firefox to connect?

    Pass port SSL 8443 to 443 has solved the problem. It seems that when the www.something.net url is entered, Firefox remembers that it's an SSL site and automatically add the 's' to get the https. In fact after the timeout, the url in the browser line https:www.something.net. Of course, this is by default the SSL port (443) standard, which does not work if 8443 is used. Join port 443 has solved the problem.

    If you read about Tomcat configuration, the default SSL port is 8443. Maybe this is done for the test, but there never seems to be explained that there could be problems with 8443.

    Not really. Some obsolete sites may have a "Better known with Internet Explorer" note somewhere, but even those who might very well work in Firefox.

    • You can open Internet Explorer within a tab in Firefox using an add-on like fire IE.
    • You can launch web pages quickly in another browser which uses an add-on like Open with.
  • Firefox not displaying does not changes to the Wordpress site

    I made changes to my style.css files for my wordpress sites. It seems that my changes do not appear on other computers. However on my MAC OS X, the changes do not appear on Firefox. My preference to use Firefox as my browser to work is to use Firebug.

    Hi Karen,.

    Can you give us a link to your site (if it is not private or protected by a password) to see if we can see if it's reproducible for us.

    You can try the following steps in case of problems with web pages:

    You can reload webpages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.

    • Hold down the SHIFT key and click the Reload button
    • Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
    • Press 'Command + shift + R' (Mac)

    Clear the cache and cookies only from Web sites that are causing problems.

    "Clear the Cache":

    • > Options/Preferences > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

    'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

    • > Options/Preferences > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

    I need to post a tutorial for some training company corporate site only supports Microsoft Windows.  I'll buy a MacBook in the coming weeks when I go to training and I wonder if there is a way to load windows on an external drive and launch it on my MacBook?  I know you can use bootcamp, but I don't want to burn up that much of my Flash memory by placing it on the MacBook itself.  I have a 1 to Seagate that I use on my iMac at home for Time Machine.  Could just operate with Windows on it to visit the society tutorial with my MacBook?

    Boot Camp will not allow that.

    It is possible that one of the many emulators Windows for Mac can allow you to run with such a disk configuration.
