I'm not aware of any setting of Firefox for windows animations.

I've upgraded to the latest Firefox, but something prevents reading Web sites that I've updated. I already tried to uninstall and reinstall.

At first, I thought it was a specific Web site, but I found that it is affecting my sites on a set path. Yet once, I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling firefox. It doesn't seem to affect one of my other internet browsers.

It would not be a problem, but most of the sites are demanding I upgraded and even disabling certain features until I do.

  • Why Firefox guard open a new window a lot when you click on a tab to open it.

Firefox guard open a new window every time when I click on a tab to open it. Happens quite a few times per day now and it's annoying.

Versions of Firefox 3.5 and later have a feature called tabs.

You can detach a tab in the current window and open in a new window by dragging a tab in the browser window.

You can drag the tab to the tab bar in the original window to cancel this detachment.

bug489729 (Disable detach and tear off tab):

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).

  • Why Firefox sometimes opens a new window when I browse to an existing tab?

I often have 7 or 8 tabs open in Firefox. Sometimes, when I click on a tab, Firefox opens in a new window instead of going to this tab. I did not understand a boss when it does.

A will (usually at lower) very light movement causes the tab to "tear" / "snatch" in a new window. You can drag the tab to the window of the new window origin.

You can install this add-on to stop the behavior "tear off" / "tear off":

FireFox will be available on Windows Phone?

Hello, I know no development or the efforts of mozilla firefox on the windows phone platform porting.
Initially, there was technical and legal obstacles in the app store, which discouraged mozilla to start any developments in this direction. I do not know the current situation, but given that mozilla is now focusing its efforts on the creation of firefox os as a platform open source web-based, I doubt you'll see firefox on your windows phone device in the foreseeable future...

  • Impossible to make Firefox my default browser in Windows 10.

I've replaced Firefox Web browser settings in Windows 10. I start Firefox and make it my default browser. When I search websites in Firefox, it does nothing. I tried with Google, Bing, Yahoo - nothing happens. If I go back to Windows 10 settings and change for Microsoft Edge, he surfed immediately with Bing. I've done 100 times and it does the same thing. Very frustrating!

Have you tried other browsers, such as Google Chrome or Internet Explorer? (See How to open Internet Explorer in Windows 10). If only Microsoft Edge can access the websites, I think that it is not a matter of Firefox and you can get better help on a Windows forum.

Here's a thread from a forum of 10 Windows on a similar problem (only sites Microsoft consulted Edge, other browsers do not have) which was resolved by resetting your network card by entering netsh winsock reset at the command with administrator privileges prompt and then restart Windows:

This last thread of a Windows 10 forum worked. Now, I can get Internet in Firefox, Chrome and Edge. This ended days of frustration. Thanks Firefox for looking. netsh winsock reset to release your adapter. My next step is to uninstall Windows 10. Thank you!

You are welcome and thanks for posting back with the result. I'll mark this as the solution.

  • Firefox loses focus of the window when I switch to Windows user accounts

If I have Firefox running in a single Windows account and switch to a different account (where I do not use Firefox) and then back to the account where Firefox is running, and I have to open a new window in Firefox, Firefox loses focus (in other words, I can't use the new window unless I first bring back highlight on the desktop.) ... and, no, it's not a Windows problem, as another program will include an expected. It's just Firefox that does this. Very annoying, btw.

[Oh and mods, please reopen my previous thread, I wasn't done with it, thank you.]

For these past few days, whenever I open Firefox, I get "well, this is awkward!" Firefox has struggle to recover your windows and tabs. I'm on version 20.0 on an IMac with Mountain Lion. I don't want back windows or tabs. I still have to close everything and leave Firefox when I'm done with it.
If I choose Select 'Close', then I get an empty stage and not my home page. If I 'restore' I get what is listed, but I don't really want to. I want as my home page. Y at - it a fix for this problem?

A possible cause is that you first close all Firefox Windows and then close the Firefox application.

Some noted that closing of Firefox (Firefox > Quit) while the browser window is always open works for them.

Thanks for the workaround. Run Admin has solved the problem for the Version 17.0.1. The warning message does not appear for 18.0.1 - not so far.

That may be a problem with the DDE.

Try to undo and redo Firefox as default browser.

Make a different browser like IE browser by default and then let Firefox do it again.
