  Since the update for Firefox 4, I can't access the configuration of my router (http://192.168.x.x) page. When you are prompted for the user name and password, Journal of Firefox in window does not accept an empty username field (the router does not require a user name, only a password and it is the default password). If I click OK, the entry of password just happens again. It works fine in other browsers. Is that what I can do about it?

  I had this problem too and by disabling the option "Tell sites I don't want to follow" the set under Options-> advanced-> browsing.

  The main reason I use Firefox 3.6 and not IE or Chrome is the bookmarks bar and how it is easy to create new bookmarks by dragging a tab into the bookmarks bar. Is this an option on Firefox 4?

  From what I found in a search on the web, it is designed to occur if you make your purchase on the site of an Amazon affiliate instead of directly on Amazon.

  If you are shopping on Amazon itself, two thoughts:

  (1) you may have an outdated cookie value. To clear your Amazon cookies (note: this will disconnect you), you can do: while displaying a page on the site, try either:

  • Right click and select View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies".
  • ALT + t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies".

  In the dialog box that opens, you can delete cookies from the site individually.

  Then try to reload the page and add something to your cart. Any difference?

  (2) you have an add-on which is injected in your shopping to try to get a percentage of your purchases.

  Please, try the SafeMode as indicated above and see if that changes anything.

  I skipped a step. After you have copied the old favorites to the new Favorites folder, you can use the import of IE method to convert these favorites in Firefox Bookmarks. See: importing Internet Explorer Favorites.

  How can I take a picture on a Web page that don't let me use the control C copy command? In other words, on this particular website, I try to highlight a passage I want to register and put in a document, but the highlighting will not work. I know there is a way to take a picture of the page, and then I can use my photo editing software to crop and enlarge.

  It is an online publication which, AFAIK, is not in a pdf format. Finally, I found that this really works on my laptop was to hold down the Fn (function) key and press control and print screen at the same time. Which records an image of the page in a temporary storage. I can then use Ctrl-V to paste a picture of the page into a word-processing document. Seems to work very well. And I can use scale font size on the bottom of my Microsoft Word page to enlarge for better readability.

  There is no Scandisk in XP. Do you mean that whenever you start your computer running chkdsk? If so, then:

  It would be also a good idea to test your hard drive. Test the hard drive with a diagnostic utility downloaded from site of the disc mftr. or use SeaTools for BACK of Seagate. You create a bootable CD with the files you download. You will need a third party burning software to do as the free ImgBurn, Nero or Roxio. Burn as an image, not in the form of data.
