Firefox 8.01 - automatically load the "Getting started with Mozilla... page.

Firefox 8.01 - whenever I starts, it loads automatically the "Getting started with Mozilla...» "the my home page Tab. How can't we open the tab "Getting started...". » ?

Hi ricklord303,

You should take a look at the Knowledge Base How to set the home pagearticle.

There are the steps in this article to reset your preferences on the default home page. I would try everything first to clear all strangeness. If it works, you can try to set your homepage again to your personal preferences.

If this does not work you should look at this article on this specific issue and Preferences not savedarticle.

Hope this helps!

    Everytime I open FF, the tab "Getting started with Mozilla Firefox" opens. I checked and it is not in my list of homepage.

    But, once I close all the and reopen it again, the tab opens.

    About: config, filter for 'Start '

    Ones you want to should appear at the bottom.

    Startup.homepage_override_url and startup.homepage_welcome_url

    Double-click on each one and delete the text string. Close and reopen the window to check that it worked.

    As I deleted them both at the same time, I'm not sure who was the culprit. So, I suggest starting by striking first and tests before deleting this one.

  • How to reboot can I configure Firefox to re - automatically load the tabs I had open when I stopped?

    Every morning when I do a soft start to clear the cobwebs out of my brain of the PC I have my boot settings automatically load 6 apps. Firefox is a. Then I go on a toolbar start tab and click Open all tabs and it loads 4 tabs for me.

    I am trying to automate the loading of the tabs

    I use Firefox 4.0. The previous version was a function that was asked, when you closed Firefox, if you wanted the tabs you have open at that time to arrange the next time you open Firefox.

    It's kind of way to jack-leg to get the tabs open on the re-start, although it was still irritation...

    This issue does not seem has happened in 4.0.

    Is there a setting to always call the question?

    Better yet, is there a setting to always have the tabs / a group of tabs always open at startup?

    Example-in my case I load Vonage Sharefile, then 2 home page tabs.

    This allows me to keep my poor brain organized during the day because I'm multitasking in Firefox and other applications, and telephone and other.

    I thank in advance.

    One of the changes in Firefox 4: by default Firefox 4 does not display the warning "Save tabs and exit" then to the closure of several tabs, but it can be turned on again by changing some preferences.

    • Record of the tabs was not removed from Firefox 4, but it works a little differently.

      • By default, Firefox 4 will not ask to save tabs, but instead it will always save your tabs in the output. You can restore the next time by selecting "Restore previous Session" in the history menu, or by pressing the button restore Firefox's default homepage.
      • Note: This was a decision by the developers. On this forum, we are all volunteers without compensation here to help other users. Develop them and employees of Mozilla/Firefox rarely, if ever visit here.

    Also, make sure that you do not erase "Browsing history" when you use clear recent history:

    To display the message "save tabs and exit" when closing multiple tabs, you can do the following:

    1. Type of topic: config in the URL/address bar and press the Enter key
    2. Accept the warning message (promise to be careful)
    3. Open the preferences/list page
    4. Filter = browser.tabs.warnOnClose
    5. If its value is set to false, double-click top (in the lower panel) to toggle its value to true
    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the 3 following preferences also:
      • browser.warnOnQuit
      • browser.warnOnRestart
      • browser.showQuitWarning

    When I do a search using the Firefox browser or Google engine, I want only a page of research. That I have scroll, Firefox is now automatically load page second, third, etc., as a scrolling down. How can I stop this?

    Could you give the address of the search results page where you get "loading without end? It is not normal that the standard Google search engine plugin that comes with Firefox, but you might have a different plugin.

    Some add-ons have this feature, including those with similar names to the 'autopager"and probably many others. You could review your active extensions on page modules. Either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a (Mac: command + shift + a)
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

    In the left column, click Extensions. Then, take a critical look on the list on the right side. I suggest turning off one you forgot to install. Those who have Options buttons may be worth exploring to see if it is a feature, you can disable.

  • Firefox 42.0 automatically load a tab 'option' as if a Web site is selected. How can I fix it?

    Firefox 42.0 automatically load a tab 'option' as if a Web site is selected. How can I fix it? I can't find any navigation to prevent that from happening. This started when "ask.com" hijacked my browser. I can now load my selected home page, but can not get the tab 'option' to appear automatically as well as my other sites selected in the tabs above. Thank you.

    Firefox uses a vertical bar ("|") in order to separate several home pages.
    You can check the setting of the home page to see if the subject: preferences page is included among the home pages (| subject: preferences #general).

    This can happen if you click on "use current page (s) ' to set the home page and about: preferences is open in a tab.
    You can pin the tab with the subject: the preferences page through the context menu of the tab to avoid including: preferences for layout home page if you want to use this button in "Options/Preferences > general".
    To set a page as the home page, you can drag the globe/lock for the home button.

  • Automatically loads the page with https

    Firefox will automatically load the following sites using https

    If I type in
    cgets.com

    It automatically goes to https://www.cgets.com

    If I type in
    Google.com

    It automatically goes to https://www.google.com

    Why is this and is at - it a way to stop if to do this?

    Current version of Firefox may prefer a secure connection if you have never used a secure https connection to visit the pages on a Web site.

    Try to set the Boolean browser.urlbar.autoFill false pref on the topic: config page.

  • On the start menu, the "Getting Started" application has no arrow to his right, his party!

    I'm using Windows 7 Home Basic 64 bit pre installed on my Sony VAIO. Whenever I go into the menu to start, the earlier application is still "Getting Started" and there always an arrow to its right. When I move the mouse on the "Getting Started", a submenu appears on the side still with applications like to experience Windows 7, customize Windows etc. After about 20 days (from the 1st day, I opened my new VAIO), the arrow is automatically spent.

    Can you please tell me why does this happen? All other applications as Word 2010 has its right arrow that shows me recently opened documents, but where is the arrow of "Getting Started" went? The last thing I do on my computer is the main application of Office Starter 2010 to open and install it.

    There are some that will hide your files/folders so that you don't normally see them. I strongly suggest to run a scan on your computer with your antivirus/antimalware software. If you need to, you can also use the Microsoft Safety Scanner, it's free:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

    Also, if your files are hidden, check out the following article on how to display the:

    Thank you!

    Your problem is there in error. Looks like you are coding on the timeline instead of the class. That's fine, but that means getting rid of things linked class as a private function and extend class stuff. It's what your first mistake. When you do this, you receive the second error, here I can see in your code you have set up listeners for these 2 functions, but you do not have real onBannerAdLoaded and onBannerAdFailed function. Find these two in the docs or below, add them to your code.

    function onBannerAdLoaded(e:IAdEvent):void

    {

    trace ("banner loaded.");

    }

    private void onBannerAdFailed(e:IAdErrorEvent):void

    {

    trace ("banner ad failed");

    }

    The last error is an error on your part. In line 18, you have an ad in lowercase as SAI , it should be SAI, don't forget to flash is very sensitive. So change for this.

    IAd.iAd.createBannerAd (IAdBannerAlignment.TOP, IAdContentSize.PORTRAIT_AND_LANDSCAPE);

  • When you open a new window, it automatically loads the last content pop up (?) and I'm unable to type in the address bar or open a new tab in the new window.

    I don't know if they are technically pop-up windows (for example, if you perform a search on kayak.com, it will automatically open a new window of priceline.com with the search results), but that happens with Blocker on or off. Other examples are a little info to a financial site window or .edu, which opens a session is about to expire, or answer a FAQ (with the exception of the priceline example, these windows have an address bar or view a URL). In any case, once these windows are closed, if I try to open a new window, it will automatically load the content of this "pop-up". Whenever he does, I'm unable to type in the address bar or open a new tab in this window.

    How can I fix it? What I want is to open a new window which is empty, not load the previous contents.

    No, I just realized that I was holding Command-Shift-N rather than command-N
