  You cannot transfer an OEM of Windows version to another computer. It can only be used with the computer on which he came with.

  Gerry, thanks for your post. I have the same problem as Joachim started this thread. I am running Windows 7 sp1. I have a Dell computer and it's certainly a legitimate copy of Windows (confirmed computer 'properties' and it is enabled).

  By your post, I saw just to update and the KB3004394 (installed on 12/10/2014) and KB3024777 (installed on 12/12/2014) show as comfortable. I usually leave the Windows download updates automatically and I install them to stop. I watched the second update and according to Microsoft.com:

  The KB 3004394 update which was dated December 10, 2014 can cause additional problems on computers that run Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. This includes the inability to install future updates. This new update is available to remove KB 3004394 from your computer.

  My problem is, as of today 14/12/2014, I still get the pop up "this computer is running not windows genuine', even with KB3024777 installed.

  Any thoughts?

  I have a Windows 7 computer, I intended to use for Netflix movies specifically so I can get the subtitles.  Netflix is running in Media center, but does not seem to support subtitles.  Silverlight crashes after 20 or 30 minutes in Firefox and Chrome.  I think it hangs is IE also, but I rarely use it because it is difficult to get through all the options of the offer.   Don't ask me the procedures step by step that I did, but I finally success!  I uninstalled Palm Desktop and started from scratch.  I unplugged the Hot Sync cradle by the USB port, then I installed Palm Desktop from my drive and then update Palm Desktop on the Palm for Palm M125 site.  It still does not, I manually added a port and manually changed to COM1.  I then pressed the Hot Sync button and in the Device Manager, a folder has become available "device named" with Palm Desktop as a subfolder.  It is always active, I updated my computer for Palm USB driver.  Miraculously it worked.  Thanks for your help, but as usual everything it needed, it was patience and trial and error to solve the problem, since it does not seem to be a quick fix related this topic.
