Firefox and Shockwaveflash 14.0.0.145 using 100% CPU

Firefox (v30.0) normally uses the CPU of 2 to 6%.
When I start a video using shockwave flash 14.0.0.145, firefox uses 20 to 40% of the CPU and shockwave 50-80%.
For the most part resulting in a total of 100% CPU usage.
This problem occurs for a week or two.
I am running Microsoft Vista.

You can check for problems with the current versions of the plugin Shockwave Flash and try this:

  • 35.0 Firefox uses 100% cpu on Mac Yosemite 10.10.1 then either breaks or needs force quit.

I had this problem since installing Yosemite and using 34.0.5. I upgraded yesterday to 35.0 but still the same problem. Firefox will work happily for a while and then all of a sudden will use 100% cpu. I disabled all extensions and plug-ins and that made no difference. Hi apdubois, it is useful to know that Flash is the problem but, as you point out, life without Flash is not very interactive.

It is a standard orientation that addresses the most common reasons for problems of Flash in Firefox. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:

    (1) make sure that all recorders/downloaders who interact with Flash media are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them temporarily.

    (2) disable graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox and Flash

    (A) in Firefox, uncheck the box here and restart:

the button Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) > Options > advanced > General > "use hardware acceleration when available.

    (B) in Flash, see this article from Adobe technical support: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues

    (3) turn off protected mode (Windows Vista/7/8)

    Flashplayerplugin__11__7__700__169.exe * 32 - use 50% CPU or more

    plugin - container.exe * 32 - consumes 40% of CPU or more

Using 100% CPU translates the choppy video. I don't think that this heavy use of the CPU was not the case until I upgraded from Firefox13 and Adobe Flash Player 11. I tried without decommissioning, but this does not seem to make a difference.

  • WksCal.exe using 100% CPU

In the resource window, I see that there are five entrances to WksCal.exe and they use 100% CPU. I thought I had solved in part this problem yesterday when I got rid of all but one of these entries. Today, they are all back. I did a full scan on my computer by using the Windows program and found nothing.

There is apparently nothing to do and I'm not using the synchronize file CC, the only thing I use the CC app for updates of applications.

When the application pegs my CPU I usually double check that it is the culprit in the activity and then monitor exit. It's particularly annoying when that happens on the road with my Macbook Pro because at least that I pick it up quickly it makes my shorter than expected battery life.

    Hello Ian,

Have you tried the Task Manager to end? Right-click on the taskbar and select Start Task Manager. Locate the application and click on end task (at the bottom of the page). I wonder if it's a piece of malware running, or even a virus. If it will not be closed, or starts just backup again, consider using these scanners:

  • TosBtProc.exe using 100% CPU

I have a Tecra with built-in Bluetooth 9100, running Windows XP SP2 however, everytime I turn on the bluetooth, using the system tray icon the TosBtProc process starts to use 100% of my CPU and pipes of my machine unless I kill the process.

This problem was happening before that I updated to SP2, I tried upgrading to the latest v3.20.01 Bluetooth Stack but that made no difference.

As a result, I can't connect my Bluetooth phone to my PC.

Does anyone have ideas, what is the problem?

    Hello

It's very strange. I have Tecra M1 and it resembles your T9100. I tried to go wireless and Bluetooth connection, but everything works fine. Can you please try the same thing using FN + F8? Use just the Bluetooth wireless as there is option that allows connections on the same time.

  • I am running xp family on an old PC 7yr. Task mgr shows Im using 100% CPU resources veryenen, resulting in slow or frozen PC. Seems there are 60 at bottom. KS

How can I reduce the number of processes running in the background? 100% CPU often allows. Thank you

Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in.  Look for whatever it is you do not know using Google (or ask here.)  You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.

You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory.  This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.

  • Vista Enterprise using 100% CPU countiniously

I use Vista business on dell Inspiron 6400 (had vista with laptop). The laptop has dual core processor and a CPU is used 100% without interruption since install. I have installed all updates using windows update utility. I have also disabled the indexing service and also to adjust Visual effects for best performance. The problem still exists.

In the Task Manager, I see a peremptory touch 100% CPU graph and another pretty normal CPU graph. I have 2 GB of ram and still 1,3 GB free. I have not yet installed any software. In the list of process System Idle Process takes, 90 + CPU usage no other program uses much CPU.

For this reason, my laptop is very slow to respond and almost useless, please help me.

I think that I found the correct culprit this time. I tried to disable the edge of BIOS devices implemented and it worked. When narrowed "Media Card and 1394" device was causing too much hardware interrupts. My PC works fine and no CPU usage after you turn off the device. I think that the fault was in Media card on board the aircraft.

It took me a long way to reach this solution, so to help others here you are a few steps to take to limit the problem.
-Task Manager open to see if any software uses the CPU more than expected. If you notice any software then its easy to uninstall or disable the program at startup etc.
-If Task Manager processors are normal and yet one or more CPU is used close to 100% and then download and run http://live.sysinternals.com/procexp.exe ProcessXP and run
-If material interruptions take up too much cpu, then try to disable/remove your attached devices, like modems usb, wireless lan, lan card BIOS Setup etc.

    Hope this will help.

  • Svchost.exe * 32 using 100% cpu usage

Hi, my svchost uses 100% unused cpu, make my computer run incredibly slow. When I end the process it starts up within 30 seconds. When I click on go to service, nothing is highlighted, I even tried manually by clicking on go to treat all services running.

    Hello

You did changes to the computer before the show?

Svchost.exe (Service, or SvcHost host) is a system process that hosts several Windows services. It is essential in the implementation of the process of the so-called service shared, where a number of services can share a process in order to reduce the consumption of resources.

Sometimes viruses can usurp themselves as system files.

Method 1: Put the computer to boot and see if that helps:

A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.

Reference: How to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

Note: when you're done to diagnose, follow step 7 in the article to start on normal startup.

  • Agent process java using 100% CPU

    Hello

I have Hyperic 4.0.1 11 platforms and follow-up on 10 of them it works fine, but on the other 1 the Java process is just hogging all CPU and I don't know why.

Basically, there are 2 web servers, which are both controlled. They use the same hardware and installation by the same people using the same binaries at the same time. All configuration files are identical. A machine works perfectly and the other is to have this problem with Java.

I tried to restart the agent and made some tests with the new versions of the agent as excluding unwanted plugins in the agent.properties file but there is still no change.

The only time where I could get the CPU down wasn't that turn off the collection of all parameters and restarting the agent. I then added back a metrics and the CPU usage remained at a negligible level. He has been this way for about 2 weeks but began to creep up again and no change to the machine has been filed, I know.

Does anyone have ideas which could, but causing Hyperic/Java for this?

    Thank you

    Andy

Although I can't know for sure newspaper followed has to do with him, because it was in my case, I would try to run the agent without trace log or by using a very high interval for this and comparing the CPU.

Try to put this in the agent.properties:
    Track.Interval = 99999

    (units are in seconds)

  • Some Web sites I am using a very old version of Firefox and will not work. I use 9.0

This occurs even on some help pages for Firefox! Some plugins also refuse to load, citing an outdated version of FF. Some sites say that I use Firefox 1.0.7, which I've not used for years. The drop "about FF" confirms that I am under FF 9.0.1

Even this page (below) under her 'we made some assumptions about your browser and operating system' I'm under FF 1.0.7. Aargh!

Your browser may be identifies itself by mistake. Sometimes, this is caused by an add-on.

Although this article is a bit old now, the procedure he described is still the best I know to fix this problem: Web sites or modules report wrongly incompatible browser | Troubleshooting | Firefox Help.

    A little luck?
