Firefox blocks 4 to 5 startups

Question

I have another type of problem with Firefox

Description

I used the version 3.5.6 by 3.6.3. All versions hang exactly the same on most of the startups. I have to reopen it in safe mode, and then reopen again in normal mode before it will open without freezing. Sometimes I try to reopen it in normal mode and it takes at least 4 or 5 attempts before I managed loading Firefox. I have had essentially the same extensions since before this problem and have uninstalled or disable all new extensions. I removed all third-party plugins. except shockwave and futuresplash (not even sure that this one is, google is not my friend!)

Firefox still didn't start at some point, but for a few months, it is almost everytime. Maybe it's a setting my topic of config?

I did exhaustive tests with all 17 of my extensions. I opened firefox 100 times with each activated gradually extension (test average was 6 times by enabled extension). Caused LastPass browser hang both by itself and in combination with other extensions. Firefox ONLY hung when this extension has been enabled.

I suggest that Mozilla force Lasspass to debug their products before allowing users to install their addon. It's unfortunate because this is one that I depend on.

  • Latest Firefox block reported attack sites...

Hi all, in the latest version of Firefox, the option "firefox block reported attack sites" is enabled by default. My question is, mettle is listed as one of these Web sites. I use mettle to allow people to download photos from events that I cover without having to affect the speed of my site... granted some might use mettle for wrong reasons, but not all.
So, what can I do? Not all visitors to my website would have the knowledge to turn this setting off...

Block page has been enabled by default for years, but blocking download has been added more recently, perhaps around early March when there was a wave of messages on it.

The list of bad sites come from secure Google service. Downloads of Firefox updated lists of blocking at regular intervals. It is questionable to block a whole file, hosting site based on a bad user, so I hope that the next iteration of the data file removes the block; We are all at the mercy of the data on it.

To check where your date file has been updated, you can watch here (type or paste into the start menu search box and press enter or use the Windows Run dialog box):

    %LOCALAPPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

It's the cache and temporary files folder corresponding to your active profile folder. Double-click your most recently updated and secure profile folder. Normally, you will find that the files have been updated within the last day.

I respectfully disagree with you about Firefox...

The code of Firefox is so bad that I only use it as a last resort. Constantly, it crashes and has done this on several PCs in 2 or 3 years.

In any case thanks for the suggestions, but it turned out malware that Panda deleted.

If Firefox is a 'last resort', why you use it to check your emails? Do you use Google Chrome to access Google mail? I've never had problems with Firefox, then maybe I'm just lucky.

Added the: Chrome and IE are coded by companies funded by programmers. Firefox is a program open source funded through donations to not-for-profit, which means that's what users are doing. If the 'bad code' is probably just different, not bad.

Thank you for the crash IDs. They are not immediately associated with an existing bug, so we have to try a few different things.

    (1) disable the use of hardware graphics acceleration Firefox (to work around incompatibilities of pilot)

To access this setting, start Firefox in Safe Mode. It is a standard diagnostic tool in order to avoid interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.

Hold the SHIFT key when you launch Firefox. In the dialog box, click on 'Start mode safe' (not reset).

Uncheck here, the release of Firefox, and try to start in normal mode:

the button Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) > Options > advanced > General > "use hardware acceleration when available.

Use one of the links to restart Firefox.

I X10.7.3 of the OS and the latest Flash, but he says always firefox blocks flash when I'm in my yahoo email. How should I do?

Here is what happened: last week, Adobe updated the way they report the Flash version (no Firefox version but the Flash version) as part of a Flash update. It seems that Yahoo Mail didn't update their code to properly control and so it seems (for them) that Flash does not work (they can see that you have installed but does not have the code to check version).

As you probably figured out, you're not actually blocked Flash and this must be affixed to the side of Yahoo.

  • To start Windows tells me that it has blocked some of my startup programs.

    original title: problems with start-up

When I turn on my computer, I get a notification that windows has blocked some of my startup programs.  This problem started about two months ago and I do not understand why.

They are important elements of the registry-related programs and my anti-spyware or anti-malware for example programs.  Why this is happening and what I can do about it?

    Hi EvelynWeber,

Follow the steps listed in the article mentioned below to solve the problem:

Error message when you start a Windows Vista-based computer: "Windows has blocked some startup programs".

  • Why is Mozilla Firefox blocking (freezing) at startup?

For the latest version of little of Firefox, I noticed, it hangs at startup for about thirteen to twenty-five seconds. After reinstallation, it seems to work fine but when I reinstall my old profile it again. Obviously something in my profile is the cause but I deleted my cache, uninstalled applications or add on, etc. Is there something that I do not forget to check?

You may need a clean installation.

First export your bookmarks to an html file. (Bookmarks/Unsorted bookmarks will bring you history page where you can export your bookmarks.) Note your modules too.

Uninstall the old FF, using free software like Revo Uninstaller. This will remove all directories of the root and records of old FF.

Now download the latest version of FF and install it. You can re - import your bookmarks from your saved html file.

You should always do what I suggested in my first post, even after the clean install of FF.

  • List of exceptions of the blocker is disabled at startup of Firefox 3.6.12.

Whenever I have allow pop-ups for a website, the specification to allow block pop-ups for this Web site is lost after reboot. For example, when you start Firefox, the blocker exceptions list is empty.

Make sure that you do not remove the navigation, search and download history on Firefox to clear the "Site preferences".

"Site Préférences" in "Clear recent history" of compensation will remove the exceptions that are stored in the content - prefs.sqlite (specific site for zoom settings) and permissions.sqlite (exceptions for images, cookies, pop ups, software; Tools > Page Info > permissions) in the profile folder.

The exceptions of password (Tools > Options > Security: passwords: display the passwords) are also removed from the signons.sqlite.

  • New Firefox blocks hot videos.

New firefox is hot video blockung streaming. IE and Chrome do not block for the same PC and Internet options. I can solve this problem?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe or make changes.
