Firefox crashes after startup

Hello
I've updated to Firefox 8.0 today. When we ask him to do, I disabled an add-on (ICQ Toolbar). Since then, Firefox crashes immediately after opening. I can't even try and see if it boots up in safe mode, because I do not understand this measure. I hope you can help with this problem.

Thanks in advance.

RoboForm update worked for me, too.

  • Firefox crashes on startup after update

After the latest Automatic update, Firefox crashes whenever I start it. Uninstalled it, downloaded the fresh installation files, installed these - even of the accidents.

Hello markusrex, this seems to be quite prolific start at this time crash. other affected users have reported that it is solvable by a clean reinstall:

    1. Please try to uninstall firefox from the system control panel.
    2. then go to the firefox program folder (usually located in C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox)-remove the entire program folder firefox manually
    3. try reinstalling the browser with a new copy of https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/
  • Firefox crashes at startup, even after complete reinstallation. No add-on.

Everytime I open FF, it freezes completely within 5 seconds. I uninstalled and reinstalled, I deleted all traces of its data using Revo uninstaller & FF, then reinstalled and still get the same results. I saw where malware can cause this kind of problem, so I ran full scans with Microsoft Security Essentials, Malwarebytes, security of Microsoft and Kaspersky Security scanner Scanner. They all came clean.

I would love to submit an accident report, but apparently these accidents are not generating them. The only thing in AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash reports is an InstallTime file, as of today (the date of my last reinstall). I can not also add troubleshooting information, as FF crashes before I can add something.

This is exactly what is happening: I run FF, sensitive whish for the first couple seconds. After that, it freezes completely and finally "(ne répond pas) ' is added to the title bar." A little later, Windows is displayed, asking if I want to find a solution. That's all.

    Win 7 Pro, FF 18.0.2.

The FF window appear even when I tried to start it in safe mode (I had to kill the process), so I restarted my computer in safe mode, and it worked. Looking at msconfig to find what could be the cause of the problem, I found a suspicious entry I was able to confirm a malware that missed all the scans. For reference, it's in AppData/Roaming/Elryu/onmo.exe. I'm sure it was randomly generated names, but I think it's important to mention.

    Everything works perfectly now.

Thanks for your help - mainly just, I didn't know where to start with my FF troubleshooting, cause I never had problems with it before.

  • 7.0 Firefox crashes at startup (including safe mode) as a standard in Windows XP SP3, even after the clean install user

    Hi all

I need help. 7.0 FF crashes at startup / launch every time, even in safe mode of Windows XP.

I've initially automatically upgraded to version 7.0 the FF of the version the latest version 6. This automatic installation crashed, then I downloaded again v7.0.

I uninstalled my existing installation of FF6, including personal settings and ran Setup v7.0. He appeared to install successfully, but crashes at launch. I repeated this process several times with the operating system restarts without success.

I also ran FF in safe mode of Windows XP, but have experienced the same crash at the launch of the application. FF now display only the 'Crash Reporter'.

    Reminder:

    • I am running Windows XP Pro SP3 on a computer.
    • The machine is on Tivoli Access Manager (but I choose not to use it)
    • I ran a scan anti-virus AVG Free with no result.
    • I did a scan of MalwareBytes Anti Malware. An infection was detected (since corrected) as follows:

    Infected registry data items:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\SystemRestore\DisableConfig (Windows.Tool.Disabled)

Please let me know if you need more information.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I'm curious to know if the reg key parameters are the same as the post above Associates

The "reg" shift key is probably set your field of business via GPO that prevents you to configure system restore settings. Probably not an "infection" but MalwareBytes can pick it up as a false positve.

  • 16 of Firefox crashes after installing new modules

I'm under Firefox 16.0.2 on OSX 10.5.8, so no more updates.

After the installation and execution of several security modules, Firefox hangs at startup upward. I think that it is these new Add-ons that seem to cause Firefox freeze and crash.

After I run Firefox, the CPU usage starts with a pic and the fan goes crazy, until it crashes.

I tried to start Firefox in safe mode by pressing the option of my Mac, but I don't get the impression that he really has nothing (is - done differently?).

Improvement of systems is out of the question on this computer.

I want to continue to use Firefox until I get a new laptop, but for now, it's pretty frustrating. I also don't want to lose my favorites, although I'm sure I can get a folder somewhere.

So, the real question is: How can I disable addons on start up before you even start Firefox? Is this possible?

    Just to close the topic...
I formatted my HDD and reinstalled OSX. I immediately installed 16 FF (thanks for the link!) and all the Add-ons I had before (ABP, DNTMe, difficulty of privacy and Collusion) and all is well now, works like a charm.
I guess I just have too much clutter on my Macbook to my RAM to manage Firefox.
    Thanks for the help!

  • Firefox crashes at startup, even in safe mode

Firefox has just started to crash at startup, even in safe mode.

I also tried to create a new profile (which Firefox let me do), but it crashed as soon as I tried to use the new profile.

The only way I could get it to start is putting him to work offline, which is obviously not very useful.

Hmm, Yes, incident reports are old now.

As long as I can guess, I note something that is coming a lot lately: If you use Norton Security software, it seems to be a serious boot problem crash if you also have a program called Freecorder from Applian Technologies. If you find Freecorder in your Start menu > all programs or in your control panel, uninstall a program, and it is not crucial to keep it, please try to delete it. You have to maybe stop and restart Windows to make sure that it is completely disabled.

    What could be wrong?
    Thank you.

You might try using a new profile. It might be hard to go at least a whole day without your pets addons, bookmarks, and history... the bookmarks are fairly easy to copy.

    Create a new Firefox profile

This is in addition and does not replace your existing settings.

A new profile will be your plugins installed by system (for example, Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions or other customizations. It should also come with fresh data bases of completely fresh settings and a cache folder.

Out of Firefox and start in the profile using Start Manager > Search box (or run) - type or paste the following and press ENTER:

    firefox.exe -P

    Do not delete anything here.

Any time want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog box.

Click on the button to create a profile, assign a name like April8 and ignore the possibility of changing the location of the folder. Then launch Firefox in the new profile that you have created.

It might take some time to determine if the new profile works better than the old. If you want to import your Favorites from your regular profile in the meantime, here's how:

You can use the dialog library (Ctrl + Shift + b or "Show all bookmarks") to access the restore feature. The trick is to know where to find your bookmark backups in your regular profile. After clicking on file... you can paste this into the space of file name and press ENTER to drill down to your profile folders:

    %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

The semi-randomly-named folder that has your last backup is generally the one that ends with "failure". Click in that one, and then in the folder bookmarkbackups . Here you can choose the most recently updated to restore file.

Important: restoring a backup bookmark clears all bookmarks currently in your current Firefox profile and replaces it with the contents of the backup file.

In my view, it is also reasonable to install AdBlock Plus, Restorer of classic theme, and Status4Evar, like those who, by themselves, are not likely to be at the origin of this apparently rare problem. But I wouldn't add all your extensions to the time in the new profile, and if many show extensions system installed, you can disable those you don't actually use.

  • 36.0.4 Firefox crashes after the release and I can't uninstall it

I am running Win XP on a 32-bit computer. I have Firefox installed 36.0.4. After I got out of Firefox some time later, I get an error message saying Firefox crashed.

I have tried to uninstall it from the control panel of configuration/Add Remove Programs, but when I select Mozilla Firefox and delete, nothing happens.

How can I remove Firefox from my PC, so that I can then update with a newer version?

If it does not work. Try these:

    • Start > run > type regedit
    • Then go to HKey_Local Machine or Hkey_Current User
    • Scroll to the software on two people.
    • Search Mozilla and you should see Firefox. Delete all files of Firefox, you see.
