Firefox crashes repeatedly

Firefox has been crashing on a regular basis, without any specific model of using the browser. Running a recent installation of Win 7 Pro (32 bit). NVIDIA GeForce 6200 is the video card, which has also been crashing recently ("kernal display driver"). Not sure if the issues are related, but I have the latest NVIDIA driver day this morning. Any suggestions for a solution to the issue of Firefox? Thank you.

Here is the incident reports submitted, since this morning:

You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue.

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. As this feature has been added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there are still some problems.

You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

    Then perform the following steps:

    • Click on the orange top left Firefox button, then select the 'Options' button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to tools > Options.
    • In the Firefox options window, click the Advanced tab, and then select 'General '.
    • You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
    • Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

In addition, please check the updates for your graphics driver by following the steps in the following knowledge base articles:

    Hi all
I had at least one accident per week since Version 29 became operational. I'm not too happy, especially since the recent accidents seem would have cost me a few periods of my recent history that I might need for reference tracking for my writing.

Here is the latest list of accidents:

As you can see from the dates of the frequency of crashing is way up since the beginning of May. I know it's only once a week or more, but it's still very embarrassing - especially when the information is disappearing. It's bothers me a lot. I know that I ignored some steps recommended in the page web https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-crashes-troubleshoot-prevent-and-get-help . But what I would really some clues as to why this is happening. Unfortunately, my experience with computer programming only goes so far and I find the text of incomprehensible accident reports - perhaps someone here could glance and see if they can find something important. I will say that I'm also growing use of memory over time and I had a few crashes and slowdowns during this month as well.

I start to wonder if Firefox has just released itself specced out of reach of my seriously old material - if this is the case Just tell me and I'll see if I can fall back to a previous version because I do not in any case the interface V. 29 - I got to use the Restorer of classic theme Add on to return to something I can live with that and it still doesn't seem right of me. I want to emphasize that I have Asperger's Syndrome and I do really badly in the face of the changes in my visual environment,

    Yours Sincerely,
    Kaelkitty.
    .

Edited to add: as far as I can tell, all of the plug-ins and extensions are up-to-date. I can't update my drivers more for this system because no new is produced for this material.

    Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}
    While you are in safe mode;
    Press < Alt > or < F10 > to display the toolbar.
    Followed;

    Windows; Tools > Options
    Linux; Edit > Preferences
Mac; name of the application > Preferences

    Then Advanced > General.
Find and stop using hardware acceleration.

Dig safe web sites and see if there is still a problem. Then restart.

  • Firefox crashes repeatedly and randomly

Firefox has been repeatedly and randomly crashing for about a week. I have sometimes a few hours of uninterrupted navigation but often have restart Firefox 10 times in 10 minutes too. It's completely random, it still happens in safe mode, AND when the plug-ins/add-ons custom are disabled. I use the latest version, I uninstalled completely and re installed, but it worked only for a day or two. It occurs on many different pages and doesn't seem to have a boss. Malware bytes was performed several times and nothing is found. Windows has all the updates that are available. The only thing I can imagine could cause what I have not tried to fix is the dissonance between Firefox and old Windows XP as possible a problem. Any ideas?

There appears to be opportunities that the above entries relate to a malware disguised as something else (which would explain why they are not versioned) or they could be old remnants now not supported by Google Desktop.

It may be interesting to try to uninstall Google Desktop, or put in quarantine and sometimes delete these two files. It would be certainly interesting runs a malware on these specific files up-to-date.

  • Firefox crashes repeatedly with crash reporter. Reinstall is not good - same problem

FF does not start in safe mode - same problem.

Hi, looking at the report, it seems that this may be caused by external software on the computer. go to your control panel and remove all software labled "Freecorder" or similar, or by the Publisher "Applian Technologies" or any other toolbars.

  • Firefox crashes soon after startup

Asked me to restart my laptop (64 bit) of Windows 7 to apply an update to my Norton protection product. In my view, an update of Firefox has been applied recently as well.

After the restart, Firefox crashes repeatedly. I can usually do much after Firefox restarts before it crashes again.

    Hi Matt & Omnisilver

I followed all the troubleshooting steps in the links you provided & thought that was included in my original post, but it seems that after the first half.

In any case, I restarted again, and up to now things seem stable, even with extensive extensions, so I think that my problems are solved.

    Thanks for your answers,

  • Firefox crashes whenever I click on options in tools or customize

Had to reinstall Firefox after downloading a faster option "make Firefox" appeared Mozilla as it completely crashed my internet access. Message kept saying I needed a proxy server address as Firefox connects through a proxy server. Finally had to resort to ATT me reconnected as update had changed my settings of local network search: all checked.
Now, if I try to download an add-on on it says is installed, it is not - 41 Add acceptable on - and if I click on tools > Firefox plant wi/no crash report options window appears. need to click the icon. Ditto options menu. And will not accept, click on options in Customizing, a hand appears and zero happens.
Do not have ability to set my preferences, of course. None of these options from the sidebar appears more. I don't have any ad blocking valer'evne after downloading and not running the ad for 41 block.
    Firefox also crashes repeatedly.
Have you tried to reboot in Safe Mode, no difference.
I use XP and that many others have no interest in changing to 7 or 8 so that portable continues to operate.

Your user agent shows you are running Firefox in compatibility mode for Windows 98 (NT 4.10).

Check that you are not Firefox running in compatibility mode.
You can open the properties of the desktop Firefox shortcut via the context menu and check under the tab "compatibility".
Make sure that all items are disabled in the tab "Compatibility" in the Properties window.

  • Firefox crashes

After the update to firefox43.1 this morning (19 December), firefox is in constant crash mode. I uninstalled and reinstalled 3 or 4 times still nothing does not. When I click to open it, a minimized screen appears with two 'new tab' button located in the upper part and the start of firefox tab page (3rd from the left).

This hangs there for a few moments, then I get firefox crashed and had to close the message. What happened today at least a dozen times. It worked perfectly until this last updated and I had to download Google Chrome
just to get in line... and it sucks. I really want to come back on Firefox... Please help. I tried to attach images/screen-dumpsters and file errors, but they do not load upward.

    Thank you.

  • Now, Firefox crashes only all the time

Firefox has slowed to a crawl... taken advice on the support page to delete and rename the file "places.sqlite" in Manager files in Firefox. Now Firefox only crashes all the time. guess my decision to go back to the Explorer was made for me... can not solve the new versions of FIrefox crashes, slowness, errors... now only breaks down and the "places.sqlite. old"file I saved is gone now, so cannot yet go back to it...

Firefox does not work at all... ?

Sorry to hear about the accident. If you get the Mozilla Crash Reporter form, your Firefox could have registered some data that would help to find the cause of the problem. You can submit these data to Mozilla and share with the volunteers of the forum to see if it points to the solution. Please check the support article "Firefox blocks - ask for help" to get the procedure to get these crash report IDs since the topic: block the page and then after the most recent here.

Note: If Firefox is not stable enough to use the subject: page crashes, the article also describes how to check for submitted crash IDs disk report.

Also, and/or at the same time, could test you mode without failure of Firefox? Which temporarily disables extensions, hardware acceleration, and a few more advanced features of Firefox that could make it more prone to crashing on some systems.

Does not work if Firefox: Hold down the SHIFT key when you start Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > restart with disabled modules
    • Help menu > restart with disabled modules

    and OK reboot.

Two scenarios: A small dialog box should appear. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not update).

You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue.

  • Firefox crashes crashes on start

It randomly started happening yesterday. I removed firefox itself, all the folders under program files, appdata, etc... Registry entries and I tried a clean install and it still occurs.

    Any suggestions?
