Firefox crashes soon after startup

Asked me to restart my laptop (64 bit) of Windows 7 to apply an update to my Norton protection product. In my view, an update of Firefox has been applied recently as well.

After the restart, Firefox crashes repeatedly. I can usually do much after Firefox restarts before it crashes again.

Hi Matt & Omnisilver

I followed all the troubleshooting steps in the links you provided & thought that was included in my original post, but it seems that after the first half.

In any case, I restarted again, and up to now things seem stable, even with extensive extensions, so I think that my problems are solved.

Thanks for your answers,
Julie

  • Firefox crashes even after a clean install of Windows

    Hey!

My Firefox keeps crashing. It starts up ok, but still crashes shortly after. I do not see a pattern in accidents, it seems random. Strange thing is that I had this problem before with Win7 and now he persists after installation clean full of Win10. The two hard drives formatted, no old files or anything left... It crashes in safe mode, too. On Win7, I could get locked out of the browser. Sometimes he would start crashing whenever I started the browser. A reboot has allowed me to once again successfully launch Firefox, but it would soon break without worrying. He crashed on the clean install of Firefox and crashed after that I installed Adobe Flash.

The crash began perhaps a few days previously, I think not that a lot of it initially. Now, however, it drives me nuts; It is basically impossible to navigate. Firefox browser my go-to for years and I would rather go to another.

    Here are a few crash reports: 4b05df7c-24d3-49e3-a13f-c9d57aca3cf0 bp-775561fc-4d6c-48a5-8c6b-e3af42161108 43d377a7-ea92-4c37-b717-84a562cd2d36 bp-09b21c04-8640-44ed-a261-a98f12161108 bp-9726e46d-d041-4fba-b905-f92682161108 fb6d8a28-79c6-4cab-b4c1-096778ca49e8

You will appreciate all help to the problem.

Seems that the problem is solved by itself. Not a single accident today. I don't have any idea of that which could have fixed, or what caused it in the first place. Curious, but no matter, I'm a happy camper now. I wish all support forums it was effective.

  • Firefox crashes immediately after launch

Help, please. Firefox crashes after launch after 5-10 seconds consistently every time. I tried things: refreshing Firefox from FF SafeMode (I don't have anyway all extensions), reinstall a new copy of Firefox, regenerating the restart, profile scanned for malware using malwarebytes, search for viruses using Kaspersky, both find nothing and done about everything I can think of and still EVERY time usually 5 seconds after launch It sometimes blocks something like 30 seconds if I'm lucky.

Any help would be appreciated. This is driving me crazy. I have provided the codes below. Thank you very much!

Make a check of malware with several malware scanning of programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs, because each program detects a different malicious program.
All of these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before scanning.

Alternatively, you can write a check for an infection rootkit TDSSKiller.

    Kind regards

Luckily a colleague of me figured it out!

It turns out that the cause of the firefox crashes came from a security layer installed with the ESC Secure Layer that uses an application called Manager of funds
The dll that the accident was referring is used by this program. Find that out was the hell google is now filled with the nonsense of 'check your PC for malware' stupid on a search for the dll.

After removing the application, FF works fine again without crashing.
So it seems a compatibility issue with Firefox and Money Manager

Thanks for the help and I hope that someone in the future will have something on the solution we have found.

    Cheers!

  • Firefox crashes immediately on startup. Won't start in safe mode.

If this is not for my personal system, but a colleague. Our company force installation of some software updates, and he had a forced installation arrives for a Firefox version 38 ESR. The installation completes successfully, and he was not able to run Firefox since then. We have tried to uninstall/reinstall to level 39 (including by deleting the directory under Program Files (x 86). We also tried to restart after each step, do not restart after each step, update of Firefox did not help either, and "Reset" is not available. We can open in safe mode and disable the Add-ons, but then it crashes again once we restarted in normal mode. This morning we tried to install level 38 instead of 39, but get the same results. Help?

You can check if Firefox can be started in Safe Mode by holding down the shift/Options button.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

    • Tools > Options > advanced > General > Browsing: "use hardware acceleration when available.

You will need to close and restart Firefox after enabling/disabling this setting.

You can check if there is an update for your display driver graphic card and search for hardware acceleration of related issues.

  • CS6 inDesign crashing just after startup

    Hello

We had a problem with one of our InDesign CS6 users, I feel that we have tried to implement everything. I will list them for reference:

    • InDesign CS6 uninstall through the standard "uninstall a program".
    • Uninstalling InDesign CS6 and by using the 'AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool '.
    • Tried to install using different disks.
    • Tried the update of the program (a few times he has shown there is no update).
    • Tried to delete the startup scripts and the removal of preferences.
    • Tried with a profile of charge on PC users.
    • Used several PC to test it with various different user accounts.
    • In the end we suffered just the hard drive clean, a completely new installation of windows 7, still no joy.

The only way that we can get this to work and not fall down just after commissioning is to give the user administrative rights, which for obvious reasons, is not an option for us.

    Thank you

    Jacob

    Hi Peter,.

It seems that I finally found a solution! One of my colleagues sent me so I thought I share it incase others have the same problem.

Here are the steps I took to make it work.

    1. create a folder on the root of C, as C:\UserTemp

    2. give users the rights to modify on the file that you created.

    3. run the following commandlines for each user change their folder and tmp %% hemins (need to be registered as a user):

    A. setx.exe TEMP C:\UserTemp

    B. setx.exe TMP C:\UserTemp

Basically, what this does is create a new TEMP folder where the user can get full access too, without having administrative rights. I was told that it works for all applications of CS6 not just InDesign.

Hope this can help someone else in the future and thanks for your help on this stone, troubleshooting.

    See you soon,.

  • Firefox crashes Windows after updating to 38

It, I run Windows 8.1 on a laptop Lenovo Y510P SLI and after the upgrade to 38 launch of firefox blocks the BONES together. The screen freezes, the mouse or the keyboard are insensitive, but will continue to play all of the sounds in the background for a few more minutes until it stops too and the only thing I can do, it's power button to force a shutdown. I'm using the latest drivers from Nvidia geforce experiencr a few days ago and the firefox 38.0.5. I tried to download the developer edition, but the situation is the same - I see a UI very distorted and if I press the menu button, the system hangs. What should I do to solve the problem?

You can run Firefox in Safe Mode? It is a standard diagnostic tool to disable some advanced features of Firefox and extensions. More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.

Does not work if Firefox: Hold down the SHIFT key when you start Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > restart with disabled modules
    • Help menu > restart with disabled modules

    and OK reboot.

Two scenarios: A small dialog box should appear. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not update).

    Any less crashy?

If the problem not occur until you run some Flash Media, want to set the Flash Click-to-play (Ask 'activation'). This will delay the Flash start on a page, until you approve.

To set 'Ask to activate', open the page modules using either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click on Plugins. Search 'Shockwave Flash' and always change 'enable' to 'ask to activate '.

When you visit a site that wants to use the Flash, you should see a notification in the address bar icon and one of the following: a link in a black rectangle in the page or an information bar slides between the toolbar and in the page area.

If you do not need to Flash, just ignore the notification.

It is also, some standard advice that addresses the most common issues with the Flash Player plugin. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:

    (1) If you have any recorders/downloaders who interact with Flash media to ensure that they are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them temporarily.

    (2) turn off the hardware acceleration in Flash

Right-click the press and choose settings, then the first mini tab and uncheck the box to use hardware acceleration. More information in this article from Adobe technical support: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues

    (3) turn off mode protected (Windows Vista and later)

The functionality of the safe_mode of the Flash player plugin has security benefits, but there seem to be some compatibility issues on some systems. There is a hidden for this parameter:

    (A) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (B) in the search above the list box, type or paste the flash and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (C) double-click the preference dom.ipc.plugins.flash.disable - protected mode to change its value from false to true.

It cannot take effect until all the Flash was discharged for a few minutes, or you close Firefox.

    Any improvement?
