Firefox crashes when opening a site Web should move the mouse to open

I have to continue to move the mouse to open a Web site otherwise, firefox crashes.
Thank you

Hi wf1717, unfortunately it's currently a bug in firefox 32 which is under investigation. I think the best option for now is to use the version of esr firefox 31: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/

This has happened since the 37.x; I have been using firefox in paralyzed avoiding only webpages with Vimeo or SoundCloud built-in mode (even if it is a gene). This looks like a problem with GStreamer.
You could test this by activating / deactivating false media.gstreamer.enabled on the topic: config page.

  • Firefox crashes when opening and randomly - Windows XP.

What I saw, is that FireFox crashes on most start-ups. It also blocks at random. He experienced, he did this in safe mode, too. He has done this before that plug-ins have been installed, and he does it since FireFox 12 or 13 of FireFox.

Curiously, my folder where incident reports SHOULD go is completely empty.

    Current version: 22.0

    What I'd do here?

    Hello

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. As this feature has been added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there are still some problems.

You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

    Then perform the following steps:

    • Click on the orange top left Firefox button, then select the 'Options' button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to tools > Options.
    • In the Firefox options window, click the Advanced tab, and then select 'General '.
    • You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
    • Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

In addition, please check the updates for your graphics driver by following the steps in the following knowledge base articles:

  • 20.0.1 Firefox crashes when you access a web page of MyHeritage (possibly requires Shockwave)

I have a problem with Firefox 20.0.1 on Windows 7 with Shockwave flash plugin 11.7.700.169. When I access a website "MyHeritage" with a page that shows my family tree, I repeatedly receive a message "video driver has stopped working - NVIDIA driver... has successfully recovered. If I disable Shockwave, Firefox / video driver won't crash. BTW - run Firefox in SafeMode (disabled add-on) stopped my NVIDIA driver to crash. I had a second problem during playback of videos (for example. YouTube) where Firefox has crashed, but updated some of my plug-ins fixed this particular problem.
    Any suggestions?

Hello walter, when the accident happened not in safe mode it is a problem, most likely related to hardware acceleration. try to update your graphics driver, or in case this does not solve the problem, or there is no new version available at the time, disable hardware acceleration in firefox > options > advanced > General.

  • Firefox crashes when opening PDF files. fix as soon as possible

So as to access the PDF links Firefox and system both crashes many times and Firefox is not able to display PDF files. Please check why Firefox cannot display a PDF file

What version of the plugin are you using for a PDF file? For example, this is what I see:

Orange Firefox button or classic menu Tools > Modules > Plugins category

    Adobe Acrobat 10.1.4.38

If the problem occurs on some sites including, could you provide a URL or describe any reason than those which may differ for other PDF files?

If the issue occurs for all the PDF files, you could test these sites in Mode safe? It's a standard diagnosis in order to avoid interference by extensions (and some custom settings).

First of all, I recommend you backup your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox. (You can copy your profile folder Firefox together somewhere outside the Mozilla folder).

Then restart Firefox in Mode safe (questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode) of Firefox help

Help > restart with disabled modules

In the dialog box, click "start mode safe."

If a PDF file is operating normally, it points to one of your extensions or custom as the problem settings.

    Any difference?

  • 14.0.1 Firefox crashing when opening bookmarks or incognito after Win7 upgrade.

I use Firefox for many years and this is the first question I had with her. After an automatic update and automatic restart last night Win7, I tried to open Firefox this morning. I pulled up News.google.fr and it crashed. I tried the private browsing, and it crashed. I opened my favorites, and it crashed. Even with all disabled add-ons, it crashes. It works in safe mode. I don't have McAfee - I use ESET Smart Security.

I'm including the ID of the last crash.

Any help would be appreciated. You don't realize how much you rely on a browser until it breaks!

It might give you problems hardware acceleration. Try turning off first, in Options > advanced > general. It could also be an extension, but first try the first idea. If it is not, disable several extensions, reboot and see if that helps. Otherwise, select those disabled and disable many more. If this does not help, you will have to limit to that is the problem.

  • Firefox crashes when visiting some sites

Whenever I visit certain websites (examples: Gmail, Youtube, and Tumblr) Firefox everything stops working. I tried to restart, safe mode, default reset and clear all data (cookies, words of past, cache, etc.) and none of it worked. Currently have to use Chrome until this problem is corrected.

Had to do with a recent update (I forgot that I was on the beta version update channel). Waiting for inevitable correction which will probably solve the issue.

  • Firefox crashes when I play youtube or flash in the background

    Hello everyone
Starting last month set by the most recent firefox update I ran into an annoying accidents whenever I play youtube or something using flash for firefox it will crash a few minutes later.
So I read through the support of mozilla to fix the problem myself and did the following:
turn off hardware acceleration for firefox and adobe, search of viruses, updated my drivers and even memtest86. All to nothing not done, finally I decided to wait simply the most recent update to fix this bug. So the good news is it fixed the error nvwgf2um.dll but not msmpeg2vdec.dll.

Hmm, I would not have thought the external components of video decoding have been at the heart of the problem. The wire 'blocked' in reports is not 'die' in a video decoding function. The most recent four crashed in "garbage collection" or the functions "cycle collector", dealing with the memory. Personally, I find these difficult to understand error reports.

As a partial solution, you can use an extension that forces Flash on YouTube, as one of the following values:

Alternatively you can try to disable the MPEG decoding, but some sites are perhaps not able to "fall back" in a different format or Flash and will just error (for example, Twitter videos):

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press enter/return. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste media and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) double-click the preference media.directshow.enabled to true to false

    (4) double click on the media.mediasource.mp4.enabled preference from true to false

    (5) double-click the preference media.mediasource.webm.enabled to false to true

    (6) double-click the preference media.windows - media - foundation.enabled from true to false

The effect of everything that should be blocking MP4/h.264 decoding and place you in the latest format WebM (VP9) YouTube. You can check the result on this page, but that might not show up after leaving Firefox and start it again:

https://www.YouTube.com/HTML5 (the two h.264 should be red)

It's not so convenient for other video sites, but I'm curious to know if it helps on YouTube or has the same problems.
