If you get the PDF Viewer with a notification bar at the top then you will need to either use the Adobe Reader software with a plugin for Firefox or another plugin that can handle PDF files or open the file in an external PDF Viewer.

The current versions of Firefox have allowed a new build-in PDF Viewer that has all of the features that other readers PDF as Adobe Reader.

You can change the action for Portable Document Format (PDF) to Preview in Firefox to use Adobe Reader software or set always ask in "Firefox > Options > Applications".

You can set the pref pdfjs.disabled true on the topic: config page to disable the build-in the PDF Viewer.

  • Firefox does not remember volume level on flash for example of YouTube videos files, why?

Audio and video files always start playing at full volume, rather than to remember the previous volume. Disable all add-ons does not solve the problem, and the problem does not exist when I use other browsers. I tried to go into the settings of my flash (local and global when right-clicking on a video) and say things to allow the storage of data on my hard drive, but it also has not solved the problem.

Some flash videos in fact retain the status level / mute volume, but YouTube, DailyMotion and others are not among them even if they are working correctly when I use Chrome. This is extremely irritating because it resets the volume up during playback of the playlist.

I noticed just now that you somehow seem to be two versions of the Flash Player installed. Perform a new installation of the latest version as follows.

    1. From the next page, save the program uninstall handy somewhere, like the office.

    2. In the next page, save the installer for other browsers. If you are also using Flash Player in Internet Explorer, also save the ActiveX version.
    3. Close all applications.
    4. Launch the uninstaller.
    5. In Windows Explorer, try to open the following folders. If they exist, delete them manually.
      • C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\
      • %AppData%\Adobe\Flash Player\
      • %AppData%\Macromedia\Flash Player\
    6. Restart your computer.
    7. Run the Setup program for the other browsers.
    8. Run the installation of the ActiveX program if you downloaded it.
  • Firefox has only display problems in the upper left region of only my Dell U3011 monitor; the monitor does not have these problems with any other application

Some parts of the Firefox window are translucent, allowing the image of the desktop to show through. These regions are anything but great internet site central image which behaves normally. Unless the desktop is completely black this problem makes reading the tabs, address bar and the bookmark are difficult if not impossible. I encounter this problem only on my new Dell U3011 monitor. Firefox is the only application that has this issue on the Dell monitor. The monitor built into the laptop that animates the Dell monitor does not exhibit this problem. The laptop is a Lenovo W540 running Windows 7 64-bit. Thank you very much for your help. Steve Schupbach

  • FireFox does not have "full screen". .

When you try to use the FULL SCREEN function by clicking on the MSDS icon or by using the F11 the browser won't go full-screen. The title bar, Menu bar, area address including my displayed ICONS and my Bookmarks Toolbar will not go upward and out of sight as usual. This just started yesterday, thought it may go away by restarting and it was late so went to bed. Have closed their doors and reopen Moz FireFox v37.0.2 and still does not go FS. Is there something that could change the ' topic: config "structure of command, I know about this feature, but do not use it.

Full screen, if you right-click in the top of the screen, is there a check mark in front of "hide the toolbars? Otherwise, go ahead and click to re-enable it. The corresponding preference on the matter: config is browser.fullscreen.autohide (default is true).

  • updated 22 Firefox does not work as before with nosquint

After the update to Firefox, my web pages are up to twice the size they were before the update. NoSquint shows that size is up to 200%. None of my old tabs show a page in a readable format. Can I change the size of each page, but if I restart Firefox, all my pages are huge again. If I disable NoSquint, page size is much more reasonable, but I still need to make slight adjustments for each page. I also went in Firefox/Options/content/fonts / colors and tried different settings without success. Ideas?

Hi AlaskaSalmon, deletes or renames files of parameters used actively safely are made when you exit Firefox.

22 Firefox now adjusts the zoom level of the page according to your settings in Windows, to better support high DPI displays. If you have a medium setting (e.g. font size, 125% / 120 DPI), for example, you can expect the content area will be enlarged 25% before even that NoSquint comes into play.

You can try disabling NoSquint and see if the new size by default, associated with the site Ctrl + and Ctrl-satisfies your needs.

Alternatively, if you want to continue to use NoSquint and avoid this new content zoom, you can set Firefox 22 use of sizing of 100% in the content area. In this case, the area of "chrome" (menus, toolbars and tabs) won't be not either zoomed in and will appear smaller. There is an add-on for this, of course: police theme & size changer. You might want to install first and choose a font size of large size in anticipation of the next step.

    To give a try,

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the filter box, type or paste the pix and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) double-click layout.css.devPixelsPerPx and change its value 1.0 for a content area not zoomed.

You can find a combination that works well for you?

  • My new addition of Firefox does not have an address bar. How to install this. I don't want to use a search engine every time that I know the address.

I would also have my old favorite tool and have not lined up on the side of the opening page.

First of all, make sure that you are not in mode "full screen". The F11 function key toggles between the normal modes and full screen.

Then, you can enable/disable the various toolbars using the Classic View menu. If you use the Firefox orange (abbreviated menus) button, press the ALT key, or press the F10 key to display the classic menu bar.

If you are already showing the "Navigation toolbar", but the part of the address box is missing, you can reset your toolbars to their default values. Here's how:

    (1) the folder settings personal (AKA Firefox profile)

Help (or Alt + h) > troubleshooting information > "view file" button.

    (2) switch back to Firefox and quit the program (for example, file > exit)

    (3) wait a few moments for Firefox complete update of the files in the settings folder, then rename localstore.rdf to something else, like localstore - bad.rdf or localstore.old. Alternatively, you can delete the file.

    (4) you are finished with your profile folder and you can restart Firefox now.

    A little luck?

  • Firefox does not start .oam file with scrolling parallax effect and if y > 740

    Hello!

I try to explane my problem. If I place a parallax scrolling page of a lively .oam file, the .oam file does not start (as in firefox!) if the file is higher than y = 740 and if the animation with a scrolling parallax effect.

Maybe just visit this site, you can see the problem. Please look with firefox!

    http://OAM-test.BusinessCatalyst.com/index.html

I placed three times exactly the same oam-file with the same scrolling Parallax effects, but with different positions only y

in safari and IE, no problem. but the third CAO does not start in firefox.

    any suggestion?

by the way... Why firefox cannot load fonts in the oam file?

Thank you very much in advance for any help. really need a solution as soon as possible. If there is no way to do it with oam-file perhaps another format without flash (gif)?

    Kind regards

    Ivo

To work around the problem, you can configure initial field scroll to 1, it works with the third file oam.

    Thank you

  • Why Firefox does not have a video, but Chrome is?

I tried to watch a video using Firefox, but the window where the video should play never loaded. It remained just a black image. So, I tried the same page using Chrome, just to make sure that the site was good and the video played using the Chrome browser.

The site, I tried to display in Forefox, but would not play the video, was:

    http://www.thedailyshow.com/full-episodes/Wed-January-15-2014-Robert-Gates

I have flash player 11.9.900.700 installed and activated plugin (add-o) n.

I don't know what else to try to verify, or even if this video is a flash video.

  • Firefox does not have a Web site when I click on a link.

When I click on certain links firefox opens a new tab, but does not launch the web page. The tab says (GIF, 1 x 1 pixel Image), but the screen is blank. I can get to sites on firefox to my wife, but not on mine or chrome on my computer.

Some firewalls like Kaspersky can block content and send a GIF 1 x 1 instead.

  • Firefox does not retain privacy: preference of history for cookies

I followed the instructions to allow cookies, but every time I change this setting, it becomes forever history do not forget. This was happening before with Firefox earlier. Now its happening with 34.0.5. I use Windows Vista.

Chrome works very well. Its a conspiracy! Laughing out loud

You ensure that you do not run Firefox in private browsing mode?

PB mode all cookies are session cookies that expire automatically.

You can also view the target line in the shortcut to the Firefox desktop (right click: properties) to make sure that nothing is added after the path to the Firefox program.

There is software like Advanced SystemCare thanks to its surf Protection feature that allows to protect the files in the folder of Firefox profile against the changes.
If you have this software, then check the settings or uninstall this software.

I use an iMac with system 10.6.8 and a Safari browser. When I download the firefox program, I don't get the usual global firefox icon. I get a rectangular box with a slit at the end and the label "Firefox". If I transfer this icon in my Applications folder, this icon changes to an alias that can be transferred to the dock. How can I install Firefox?

Double-click this niche with the logo of Firefox in this regard. Then, a window is displayed. Drag the Firefox icon in the Application folder in this window. Firefox will install. Close the window, drag the thing with the slot of your trash, open applications and open Firefox

  • Firefox does not have LEEP < Google > as the first and main page. Home page is always the first all tried!

    I need your advice.
Several months ago the Explorer makes it not possible for me to watch videos from Flixxy.com and even less to download. Anything else, worked ok.
He kept asking me to download 11 Flush. I have done this at least 30 times, always with success and restarted my PC. Has not changed a thing!
Then I downloaded Firefox and with her, I could watch and download Flixxy.com.
Five days ago, something happened (I forgot what!) and I uninstall Firefox and reinstalled a new copy. Since then, I have an odd result:
When I start it, Firefox starts its < Firefox Start Page >. I want Google and I installed it on the usual way and correctly. It turns on, but next time I restart Firefox, their < Firefox Start Page > is one who is. Only Google don't stay on!
Everything else works great! And if I care what page they start would be OK: but I want to Google!
What can you advise me? Why is it so? My anti virus (Norton, Malwarebytes and SUPERAntiSpyware show no virus.
I reinstalled Firefox three times with the same results. I tried to do everything is written in Firefox Help.

    Hmm...
I see... Lets get to the bottom of your system configuration and try to eradicate the problem.

    1. Disable the MindSpark Plugin installed on your firefox Addons > Plugins
    2. Go to control panel > uninstall programs and look for something that says 'Toolbar' or something that sounds like this, uninstall them.
    3. Now reset firefox of topic: support
    4. Restart the system

Let me know if its fixed or not.

I tried their utmost to address this issue myself. Nothing helps. Installation, reinstall, upgrade... (even disabling all add-ons)... .my Firefox still believes that it has not been updated since v 3.5.5 (though about Firefox accurate the version to be 9.0.1). Here is the proof of the problem:
