Hello John.
You may have a problem with an extension or plugin that obstructs normal behavior of your Firefox. Have you tried to disable all add-ons (just to see) to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

You need to open an instance of Firefox without using the - No.-remote command line switch and don't use this switch to open additional instances of Firefox.
Then you can open a link in an external application using this first instance of Firefox which started without - No.-remote. -
Firefox does not open a link after the first; Open ok in new tab front.
In the last week or two, for reasons not clear to me, Firefox does not open the new links after the first; It is used to open a new connection in new tabs (according to my preference) without problems in the past. Now it does not blink again.
Over time, I've added new applications and others removed, and, of course, I can't exclude from their role in the problem that I have now. I would appreciate some help to solve this problem.

I downloaded the update for 25.0.1 and he ran. Instead of restarting, I stop the laptop (Vista Home SP2, 64-bit).
When I started the laptop again, I tried to open Firefox, but Norton Internet Security leader Insight could not check the update as a reliable file and did not allow for Firefox open.
I tried to disable file Insight but got the same results.
I ran Live Update to update Norton Internet Security and then tried to open Firefox again.
This time this Norton Internet Security displays a message saying that updater.exe wasn't careful and eliminated.
When I try to open Firefox, Norton now detects Updater 25.0.0.5046, said he trusted, but Firefox does not open.
I want to save the history if possible.
How can I get Firefox to work with recorded history again?
Thank you!Hi iamjayakumars - I was not able to create a new profile, because the Profile Manager does not open. A message from Norton seems "Updater.exe is sure.", but nothing else would happen.
But - the links you sent were very helpful, and I was able to solve the problem by making a UN-installing and then re - install Firefox:
1. backup of the profile.
2. download the installer of Firefox from Mozilla.org with another browser.
3. un-install Firefox from the control panel (ensuring "Delete my personal Firefox and customizations data" was NOT selected.)
4 reinstall Firefox.
Firefox starts successfully with all my old settings and all the tabs I had open the last time it was used appeared as I had hoped.
Thanks a lot for your help! -
Firefox does not open on my computer
For some time last night and today (11/18) Firefox does not open when I click on the quick link to my office. I tried to add another profile by clicking on start/run/firefox.exe, but it does not work yet. What would be the next step?
Error messages appear when you try to open Firefox?
In the Task Manager, is thefirefox.exe
process running? Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.
- Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
- Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
- Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
- Windows:
- C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
- C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
- Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
- Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
- Windows:
- Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
- Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
- Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.
The report please come back shortly.

Firefox does not open more than one window at a time, and then opens only new tabs. When asked to open the link in a new window - nothing happens, no error message or the page appears. Otherwise, it works great, but no new firefox window cannot be opened menu or the mouse. I tried to reinstall firefox several times, which did not help.

There are some extensions that are causing a problem like that. See this:

Firefox does not open in full screen on the task bar and I have to go over it to see the web page.
Firefox window is sometimes "off screen" somehow. Often, you can force it to appear on the screen by right clicking on the thumbnail image just above the taskbar and choose expand. Does it work?
A possible cause for this is that the file that stores the positions and sizes of window is corrupt. You can delete this file and Firefox will return to standard window resizing.
#1 method: If you can get a zoomed window:
Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help
- button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
- (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
- type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter
In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various files and folders in Windows Explorer.
Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:
- "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
- (menu bar) File > Exit
Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.
Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?
#2 method: If you can not get a Firefox window for all:
Close Firefox by right clicking the icon in the taskbar > close all windows.
Using the Run dialog box (windows key + R) or the start search bar menu type or paste the following and press Enter to drill down to the profiles folder:
%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
Here you can see a folder - in this case, double-click that - or more than one case - in this case, double-click on in what looks like the most recently updated.
Scroll down and rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.
Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?
Then, to re - light bars, you can use one of the following methods to view the list of the toolbar, and then select the desired bars it:
- Right click on a place empty on the tab bar (or the button '+')
- Press the Alt key to activate the classic menu bar > view > toolbars
- in customize mode > show/hide toolbars (see: Customize Firefox commands, buttons, and toolbars)
To activate the menu bar, toolbar bookmarks or other bars, click it in the list.

I'm using Firefox on a Windows 7 computer. Firefox does not open after the last update. I read the help articles and it seems that I need to create a new profile because my settings were probably corrupted. I'm unable to open the profile technical, even when you use the directory in cmd line path. I tried the following commands in the command line:

I am also running Norton Internet Security. I read a help of virtual navigation features Re article that can cause a problem. The article says to check the setting of virtualization in the internet security software and to clear the virtual cache. I went through all the menus of settings in Norton Internet Security version 21.6.0.32 and I don't see anything that looked like in "virtualization" settings, so I guess that does not apply to me. "

Firefox does not open my website on my computer
Yesterday, I was able to open my new Wix website on firefox and Chrome, but today Firefox does not open it on my computer but it if it opens on my friend's computer. Help, please!
It is possible that your security (firewall, antivirus) software blocks or limit Firefox or the process of plugin-container without you inform, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.
Delete all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container in the permissions list in the firewall and leave your firewall again ask permission get full and unrestricted, access to the internet for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

Firefox does not open or does not (see/questions/964132)
was Ok until recently
Please include more information, such as your operating system (Windows?) and the version, more exactly what is happening when you try to start Firefox. The information provided in a recent Firefox crash report, if any, can also help. See Firefox plant - troubleshoot and prevent assistance fixing crashes under help in setting this crash and post any crash report IDs recently (they start with bp - )
The title of your question, says "Firefox does not open or does not (see/questions/964132)" I have reviewed this issue and it was launched by another user of Firefox. /questions/964132? page = 2 # 477049 answer has a number of suggestions if Firefox does not start. Which have you tried?
To see other possible solutions
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems in Firefox
- http://KB.mozillazine.org/Browser_will_not_start_up
- / issues/958850 Firefox does not open after a reboot
Note: A "clean and reinstall" was one of the suggestions/issues/964132. This means remove the Firefox application and then files by reinstalling Firefox since a new download, as explained at the stage of "Reinstall Firefox" in troubleshoot and diagnose problems in Firefox. So that allows you to start Firefox, but if the problem comes back after the computer restarts, you should make another "clean reinstall" and then resolve your plugins by disabling all, as suggested by the troubleshoot and diagnose problems of Firefox article.

Firefox does not open. I tried troubleshooting, I tried right click and click on "Run As Administrator" and I tried to uninstall and reinstall. Trying to open Firefox in Mode safe mode does not work. From my laptop in safe mode with setting network opened firefox for a while, but then it stopped working again, and it turned off my wireless on my laptop card (that I put back on after some research). I killed firefox using the process in the Task Manager tab and uninstalled successfully. I'm put it back, now, I hope it works.
