  This occurs if the filevbscript.dll runtime script is not properly registered in the system.

  Try the steps below and check if you are able to run the Microsoft fixit.

  a. click the Start button, type cmd. In the result of the research with the right button on cmd and select run as administrator.

  b. type cd %windir%\system 32 (Note: there is a space between the system and 32) and press ENTER.

  c. type regsvr32 vbscript.dll in the command prompt, and then press ENTER.

  d. type regsvr32 jscript.dll in command prompt, and then press ENTER.

  If the registration was successful, you should now see the following message is displayed:

  DllRegisterServer in vbscript.dll successful.

  e. now, try to run the Microsoft fixit.

  You can do the following type of reinstall without touching your settings files. Important: uninstall NO Firefox first. That is not necessary.

  Clean reinstall it

  (1) download a fresh Installer for Firefox 36 of https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ in an ideal location. (Scroll down your preferred language).

  (2) the release of Firefox.

  (3) to rename the program folder

  (Windows 64-bit folder names)

  C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
  

  TO

  C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox
  

  (Windows 32-bit folder names)

  C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

Please update the drivers and try again.  I am running on a Macbook Pro 2014 10.9.4 Mavericks.  I updated the graphics/video drivers, made sure that all updates are underway on the OS, uninstalled and reinstalled the program and even changed the region/language settings as suggested on some forums online.  I've tried every suggestion to Adobe for the problem.  After Effects hangs before the splash screen.  What happens here?  When it comes to Apple they say is Adobe - I just need to program that I pay to work.
