  • Firefox Download Manager problems

The default in Firefox Download Manager began to show strange behavior today: no matter what file I try to download (in the default \download folder or in a folder chosen by me) is actually downloaded by the browser, but the file download status bar always a message "unknown time remaining" while being entirely green (https://www.dropbox.com/s/n891ya38ifm83c3/Cattura%20di%20schermata%20%284%29.png?dl=0).

The real problem is when I download .torrent files that are downloaded the torrent client need to start (torrent client that does not start because for firefox, is never finished downloading .torrent).

I tried to disable the antivirus (bitdefender), but the problem persisted. Chrome downloads work fine (as with active antivirus).

It's the b9 32.0 and it has been fixed and will be in the build 32.0 then, probably the RC1 build 32.0 if normally such a fix would be a beta version as 32.0b10. The release is Tuesday next so little time. From topic: config you can try to change the empty value of browser.safebrowsing.appRepURL in the meantime.

  • Firefox Download Manager reacts unexpectedly.

I can't download the files correctly using the default Firefox Download Manager. The affected extensions are:

     1. Download Status
     2. Download Statusbar
     3. DownThemAll (although since this doesn't interfere with the default, I don't see what this might have to do. Included for completeness).

    Now to the problem:
Firefox displays the weird behavior every time as downloading a file:

     1. The download completes, and it keeps scanning the file with an antivirus for indefinite periods (it never ended so far) even with tiny text files.
     2. During this period of antivirus checking, if I download another file, the old one gets magically deleted.

I'll disable add-ons relevant and post back the results.

See "Antivirus disable in Firefox preferences - Windows."

Try to set this pref to false on the topic: config page.

    Hello
My PC at work cannot be downloaded "exe" and other types of files. Please provide a different way (compressed zip file is strongly recommended) to download the latest version of firefox.
I don't trust from other sites and also they do not often provide latest version.

Also I don't know if your exe file is a standalone version or not. If it is not, please provide a stand-alone (does not require no internet during installation) because my PC for some reason some don't allow applications to download files.

I tried the mozilla site and that you did not find another way.
If there is already another way to download firefox (windows), then I am very sorry to bother you.

FIrefox is one of the best web browsers and I want to install it on my PC.
Please help me with this question.

    Thank you for your time.

Firefox downloads are a complete, no additional files are downloaded during the installation procedure.

Versions of Firefox were not produced in the format of Zip archive for more than 6-7 years, only preliminary versions are available as such. Your PC at work can be "locked" to discourage users from installing unapproved programs, 'they' allows you to install programs of your choice?

Have you tried to download Firefox on a USB "Flash-stick" using a different computer? Like your home PC. Simply plug the Flash stick in your work PC and run the installer.

When I download a file from the web, I want to find it in the Windows Explorer window, but don't know where to look. (I use Windows 7 64 bit on an HP Pavillion laptop) Where is - this Firefox download files that it lists in its own small window of download, but you only allows 'Clear' the list, no copy or open, or move the file?
Where are the actual files to?

Map of the last file downloaded and saved

go to the Tools Menu-> Options-> general-> downloads section-> select Radio button option 1 ' save files from "dialog box-> click the"Browse..."button "and from there you can find the exact folder hierarchy where a download was recorded recently.

  • I have Firefox as my main browser, but it took on my Internet Explorer browser page. If I want to use that is I can't. Instead, I get a Firefox download page

Firefox works fine. It's my main browser. But I have two of them (?) Now I have no Internet Explorer (which I use too and I also use Google when I choose to do so). But when I click on the icon that is, loading a Firefox page asking me to download Firefox, I already have the latest version of. Sometimes, I need all 3 different browsers. NOT 2 Firefox browsers. I need to have my be restored and I cannot figure out how to do. Firefox has not only updated my regular main Firefox browser, but it also took over the I.e. browser, too.

Firefox is a separate web browser (for Windows, Mac OSX and Linux), as it integrates with IE isn't a shell for IE on Windows.

Are you sure that your IE is not just opening to www.mozilla.org url in the address bar to download Firefox?

  • Is there a firefox download that does not require 7zip to extract?

For me, 7-zip is blocked by Group Policy (which I can't control) and I want to find a full exe which is not extracted using 7zip. Several posts already evoke here goes https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ to get the full download, but at least the English of the United States version for windows is NOT a "full" exe version When I run as administrator or not he starts at the window extraction, and when it is almost finished, I see the message 7-Zip program is blocked by group policy. For more information, contact your system administrator.

Can someone point me to download real not requiring 7 - Zip? I'm a fan of Mozilla, but I will be forced to move to one of the two despised browsers, unless I can install without 7 - Zip.

    Please help me!

OK... Thanks to everyone who gave me the bread crumbs to get this working. Even the developer version on the first try failed. I finally thought to do the following:

    1. open Winzip
    2. from Winzip, open the downloaded Firefox Setup 41.0.1.exe

        You'll see a core folder and Setup.exe.

    3. Select Setup.exe and use uncompress and icon.

This runs the installer and install firefox.

Once again thank you for all your quick response! I am now in place running with my favorite browser!

  • my firefox download movies from websites that makes firefox to my brother. Why?

When my brother will onsite "tube +" and starts a movie, the download arrow turns blue and it can download the movie. I tried with the same Web site and film, but the download arrow didn't turn blue. Indeed, he never allows downloads from any site.

What Download Add-ons does your brother have installed for Firefox?

  • When I try to print, and the HTML document firefox downloads only a blank page.

I sent some documents in pdf format. I chose to download, the download arrow fired to the blue. I was then able to select the file. Opening the page print the normal browser and I was able to print. I need to reprint pages and this is where my problem comes in. Now when I try to select the firefox file shows that it is downloaded the file but when I select the downloaded pdf firefox only to download the doc again and displays a blank page.

I'm currently at work and do not have available the browser specifications.

Thanks for your help guigs2. In any case, I finally solved my problem by simply installing the new Acrobat reader DC. All my downloaded pdf files types changed html firefox for documents adobe acrobat documents. I can now print what I want. I know that technically it does not really solve the problem of firefox regardless of this issue, but this allowed me to print my docs and that's what really mattered to me. Thanks again for your help.

  • Firefox downloads to date, but when I restarts his stays in the previous version and starts to redownload update again. IM on version 38

Firefox said I can update. After I download update and reboot it is always on the same version and starts to download update again. IM on 38 channel update version beta version

38 of Firefox is the current version.

Your list of details of the system shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize prefs each time you start Firefox.
The user.js file is present than if you or another software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be here.

You can check its contents with a text editor (right click: 'Open with'; do not double-click).
The user.js file is read whenever Firefox is started and initializes the preferences to the specified value in this file, so the preferences set via user.js can be changed temporarily for the current session.

You can remove the user.js file if you do not create this file yourself.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:

  • Firefox download, just the exe. dialog says: "download has been interrupted;" then goes to IE where it says to click on the button on the right

The question telling this. I use windows 7.

When you use the green button on the main download page, you get a small "stub" Installer that has to extract additional files of Mozilla. Some security software blocks which.

To download the full installer, you can use this page (scroll down to your preferred language):

    https://www.Mozilla.org/Firefox/all/

    A little luck?
