Firefox hangs - won't RUN NO - Crash reporter immediately displays.

Firefox crashes constantly on the run. Safe mode also crashes. Have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version. Here's the ID bp-41e3df68-781d-4d11-a1f4-9cfa42151031 crash. I am running Windows 7 service pack 1 64-bit. It started earlier this week. I disabled AV and tried to launch FF again, without success. I checked the the event log Windows for errors, there is not. I only ran Sysinternals process monitor and connected load FF (filter for processes including 'fire', I join this newspaper.) Sysinternals pointed out a number of errors which may or may not be related to the issue - journal CSV is available if you want that

(attempted to upload , but could not via "Upload Images").

Hi Mikeysrealm, maybe it's a recent issue for firefox users on devices dell caused by an update of the workspace of protected dell software that got preinstalled on their machines this week. Meanwhile, dell has apparently provided an update which should fix this crash of firefox startup. You can try out and relaunch the program workspace protected Dell (although its icon in the windows taskbar) - this should trigger another update, and report back if it worked? Thank you!

You can check the problems caused by the recent updates of Flash and try these:

    • disable an eventual extension of the browser for Firefox Plugin RealPlayer Record and if installed RealPlayer update
    • disable the safe_mode in Flash 11.3 and later versions
    • turn off hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

You can also try to disable all plugins (safe mode disables / effect of plugins).

I don't understand why there are these two firefox.exe apps because I had started my Firefox browser at 07:06. Could the accident report was generated by a certain time trying to hijack my browser? I ran two different virus programs and they have negative results and otherwise, everything else seems OK. Any idea would be appreciated. Did you uninstall FireFox 9? If this isn't the case, uninstall it, and then run the installer for firefox 8. Yes, it is already installed, but you want to repair then install it over the current installation. If this does not resolve the problem, you need to remove firefox completely and reinstall. You must manually back up your bookmarks if you need to uninstall.

  • Everytime I open Firefox 29.0.1 I get the screen crash report why

Everytime I open Firefox 29.0.1 I Get the screen crash report I want to restore the tabs, as far as I know that Firefox crashed. This started after I upgraded to Ver 29.0.1

Rather than do a uninstall complete, you can try this:

    Create a new Firefox profile

A new profile will be your plugins installed by system (for example, Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions or other customizations. It should also have databases of completely fresh settings and cool a cache folder.

Out of Firefox and start in the profile using Start Manager > Search box (or run):

    firefox.exe -P

Any time want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog box.

Click on the button create a profile. I recommend using the default location suggested, in other words, do not click the button to choose a different folder. Then launch Firefox in the new profile that you have created.

If you browse around, exit, reboot, etc, the problem continues?

When you return to the Profile Manager to return to your normal profile, you might be tempted to use the button to delete the profile. It's a little too easy to accidentally delete your 'real' profile, so I recommend you to resist the temptation. If you don't want to clean up later, I suggest to make a backup of all your profiles first in case something go wrong.

Hmm, this is her nasty. We will see if we cannot solve it.

I would need a few details to help better, if the solutions below does not work. I need to know what options are selected in the reporter on the accident, and one of the crushing of the reports will also be very useful - don't you worry that it's long, useful data on why this happens can probably be found somewhere in there. See the Mozilla Crash Reporter article on how to find reports, "Reports outside Firefox display" section points to where you can find the reports.

But first, lets see if we can not get Firefox started without crashing - here is a link explaining how to start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode. Make sure that no instance of Firefox is running before you start Firefox Safe Mode - you can check this by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete to bring up the Task Manager, and under processes tab verify that there are no firefox.exe in the list. If there is, highlight it with the mouse and kill the process. Then start Firefox in Mode safe of Firefox as explained in this article.

For a first try, just to click on the button 'Continue in Mode safe' and see if Firefox starts.

If this brings Firefox to life, it is probably an extension, a theme (or a combination) causing accidents. Close Firefox and restart in Safe Mode and this time mark "Disable all add-ons" and click the make changes and restart"" button. This will disable all add-ons (extensions, themes and plugins) and restart Firefox in normal mode. If it starts, you can start allowing your modules one by one to find the cause of the accident.
When you have found the culprit add-on, you can again start Mode without failure of Firefox and disable all add-ons and then start Firefox in normal mode, uninstall the fisherman and reactivate all your other addons.

Please post back here on the problematic add-on information (and all the details, you can find about it), so it can be studied further.

Let me know how the above work, and if I can be of further assistance. Detailed feedback is appreciated and helps us help more users with similar problems.

Hmm, Yes, incident reports are old now.

As long as I can guess, I note something that is coming a lot lately: If you use Norton Security software, it seems to be a serious boot problem crash if you also have a program called Freecorder from Applian Technologies. If you find Freecorder in your Start menu > all programs or in your control panel, uninstall a program, and it is not crucial to keep it, please try to delete it. You have to maybe stop and restart Windows to make sure that it is completely disabled.
