Firefox hijacked by 'mydomainadvisor '.

Somehow, Firefox browser seems to have been hijacked by so-called "mydomainadvisor". When I type a URL in Firefox, I get redirected to a "file not found" page with a different address. Tried to delete browsing history, temporary internet files and any file containing that Word, but no change. Searched for all files with the same name on my computer and even made restore sys, but its still there. AVG etc does not. Any suggestions?

Make a check of malware with some scan of malware programs. You need to scan with all programs, because each program detects a different malicious program. Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database prior to scanning.

I'll be on a site and suddenly it will redirect to another site. This can happen at any time, sometimes as soon as a window, sometimes the window can be opened for a period of time before it happened or may not happen at all. It doesn't have any link to this site I am on (the same site can immediately redirect once and not an hour of the next). I can always use the back browser button to return to the original site. About 75% of the time in this case, I find myself on a login page Facebook and when I come back I see the original redirect went to some Facebook game/meetings/or some of these sites, none of which I have never used. I do not have Facebook but I do nothing on it except go to my wall to see photos and messages from my family (5 ' friends'). I've never even posted a comment. The other 20% of the time, he goes to various sites like surveys, supports your vet.org, or those with letters and numbers just randomly.
Regarding the question "It happened" that follows I often 3-5 windows open at a time and it will happen 20 or 30 times less than an hour 4 window.
I tried Internet Explorer and Google Chrome since it started, and this has not affected one of them. I even tried to run each at the same time as Firefox and they are kept, while Firefox pages were diverted.

Hi mha007, I ran Firefox 2 days in mode 'safe' with no redirects, then 2 days normal running with no redirects, so the problem seems to be resolved. I ran RogueKiller so I guess he must have eliminated some maleware was the origin of the problem. Thank you for your help.

  • only in firefox browser hijacker

Just upgrade to the latest version of Firefox a few days ago. Found advertisements popping up throughout the tabs, sites, all sites visited. This does not work with all browsers on the same system, only Firefox. I tried several different companies without result removal tools. The last of them tried was malwarebytes that seemed to clean properly. I pulled the top of firefox that prompted reports of malwarebytes. It seems that the hijacking is firefox.exe. Is this possible? I also uninstalled and deleted firefox to my system twice. How can I get rid of this cursed hijack? If it won't be easy, I am prepared to format/reinstall the whole system like going to another browser if necessary permanently.

^: a weird update channel displayed your data: release-cck-mozilla50

Did you install Firefox from the Mozilla Server?

Do a clean reinstall and delete the program folder before Firefox to (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.

If possible to uninstall your current version of Firefox to clean the Windows registry and settings in the security software.

    • Do NOT remove the "personal data" when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data such as bookmarks and passwords including data profiles created by other versions of Firefox.

Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

    • (32-bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    • (Windows 64 bit) "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla.

Your personal data such as bookmarks are stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you will not lose data when you uninstall and (re) install or update Firefox, but make sure you do NOT delete personal data when you uninstall Firefox which removes all Firefox profile folders and you lose your data.

If you keep the problems, and then create a new profile.

    Clean reinstall it

The process is: rename the program folder, and then reinstall Firefox. In this process, the installer of Firefox should recognize and automatically connect with your existing profiles.

(Still, it may be a good idea to make a backup. This article offers suggestions: back up and restore the information contained in the profiles Firefox.)

You can download the installer for Firefox 27.0.1 here:

  • Hijacked conduit Firefox search; Topic: Config disabled

A new version of driving has hijacked my FireFox browser, among other things. Everytime I open a new tab, he returned to leads rather than my default to Google search engine. Any mistake of typing in a url sent me to bing via ducts. I used to be able to get in: config and solve these problems, but now, any attempt to do that simply sends me to bing. It is a horrible mess and continues to be, and FF users should block these redemptions of conduit.

  • Love Mozilla, but my firefox home page is hijacked by Web-Safe, superior-research, research-Global, how to remove?

I tried several times to get rid of this = Web-Safe, superior-research, research-Global, which is taking over my beloved Firefox homepage. I also use Thunderbird as my email service. I'm in Windows 8. None of the safe, senior or global names appear in my list of installed programs. I tried the 'reveal' function & still do not see it. When I zap it with Malwarebytes, it disappears, but returns when I have to restart the computer. Refresing the Firefox homepage also has same result. Help? • How can I remove hao123 homepage hijack without resetting Firefox?

I've seen a few posts on hao123 but nothing works. To clarify, I don't have the tools/software toolbar on my computer (at least according to the control panel) and I uninstalled WeChat of Tencent in the case which was the cause. However, I always get the diversion of hao123.

I also ran MalwareBytes and RogueKiller and deleted a bunch of results, but it solves for a little while before the problem returns.

The only thing I have not tried the reset is Firefox, but I would really like to avoid this if possible.

    My questions are:

-Are there a way to get rid of him without resetting Firefox?

-If not, is there a way in general?

-If I have to reset Firefox, is there a way to save on my bookmarks/settings?

    Thank you!

I think that I thought about it. Apparently the free anti-virus I used reported only recently begun to redirect the homepage of hao123. He has not done this when I started using it.

I uninstalled it and the problem seems to have disappeared. I'll leave this open until tomorrow to check that it is not.

Using a combo of Norton, Spybot, Malwarebytes, and Hitman Pro got rid of this malware villain in Internet Explorer and Opera (didn't really impact on opera a lot at first). He also screwed up Chrome but I just uninstalled Chrome, do not in any case. Firefox is my favorite, and now I feel paralyzed without that it works correctly. It is also a very bad malware, puts several ads on the pages that I know do not really have these ads. • all my browsers, including firefox, have been hijacked

Hello. My new computer, under Windows 8, picked up the very annoying malware from 'search.nu' (also known as "search.qu"). All my browsers are affected. (Yes, I confess guilty to occasionally using browsers other than FF!) I see different suggested ways, both in Firefox and generally on the web, forum to rid their computer of this parasite viroids. But it seemed to make sense to me, before doing what was suggested, to go to the Windows Control Panel and use the procedure "uninstall the program. So my original question: how is it that no one mentions the uninstall as the logical first step process? I'm hesitant to try "Uninstall" when none of the experts seems to be to recommend it.

I would appreciate greatly any illumination can provide members of the Firefox Forum.

Hello patrickmc, djstsys and cor - el! Thank you all very much for your contribution. I would briefly like to ask about the developments - and what I fervently hope is fast and fun to solve the problem.

First of all, in all honesty, I must admit that the villain of the piece, 'search.nu', at least with me, was more than a thief to shoplift as a serial killer. Yes, it I stopped to go to my home page and instead offered a white screen with just a search box - its own search box, of course. If I had been stupid enough to use this search engine, most likely some hair on the head or hair events would fell on me. But from the first moments I knew to ignore, and so my difficulties never amounted to more than one gene. And yet, even a simple annoyance should be eliminated if possible, don't you think?-especially when I'm feeling so affectionate and protective towards my computer brand new and want to keep it intact.

Thus, the instructions very simple Firefox and Chrome, I deleted Search.nu as my home page, replacing Yahoo, as the fascist Search.nu leaves stage right, as he went to the area of research, potentially very mischievous Search.nu. I closed and reopened the two browsers several times, and it seems that this simple measure was sufficient.

The reason why I didn't delete the whole program is that when I went to the Windows one uninstall program and began the process, it turned out that I had downloaded the wrong search.nu as unexpected and unwanted baggage with J - zip, a piece of software that I've used for years on my old computer - and love. Of course, I wanted to keep j - zip! So, at this time, I decided to try the above simple maneuver and eliminate the search.nu while retaining the j - zip.

I know from reading online about search.nu that in the past it strenuously resisted eviction--you'd think that you'd killed it when suddenly it would spring up very much alive and bent on vengeance, like Glenn Close in the bathtub scene in "Fatal Attraction"!! But maybe all the terrible publicity over the past few years that search.nu has received (e.g. McAfee Siteadvisor puts up a big red X and obstructs access) has caused search.nu to mutate into a more benign form. You know, in real life, viruses (biological, not computer, ones) often do exactly that--if they're too virulent, and kill off their hosts very quickly, they don't have time to replicate. So the most successful biological viruses rapidly mutate into milder forms, making you just sick enough to cough and sneeze, etc. and spread them to others, and I think maybe search.nu, in allowing itself to be controlled so easily, has wisely done just that sort of mutating.

In any case, patrickmc, djstsys, cor - el, I thank you once again, and it is great that, for all malicious elements on the internet such as search.nu or worse, there are still people like you three which combine altruism with knowledge and intelligence - and really benefit people like me!
