  You are able to start Firefox in Safe Mode or start the Profile Manager?

  I took my dose with a reinstall of my Bookmarks, etc. of my Norton Back up.
  Everything seems to have been fixed, with over 35 restarts so far this afternoon.

  You will need to get to the bottom of this problem and try to prevent that from happening in the future

  1. First create and use a new additional Firefox profile. I'm hoping that will result in at least a Firefox that you can close.
     Use the Profile Manager to create and delete profiles Firefox_creation-a-profile
  2. Note that normally, the method of closing of Firefox is to use the menus in Firefox | Firefox button. (Using other methods might create problems and there are some bugs of current / recent _{Bug 845681 & 8537799} )

  After trying - in vain! -Suggestions of Christ1 and the sfhowes, which I am grateful to them, I have set out to solve the problem on my own. And finally I found the culprit!
  Who is me in the first place, given that I made a mistake. TB also has its share of responsibility but he couldn't warn me about the stupid mistake that I made. And this would be a very easy warning!
  The fact is that my TB is configured with two separate accounts: one is a regular account, while the other is a certified electronic mail account. Very rarely write or receive messages on it. Then when I opened TB he asks me two passwords, one for each account. Since I usually use the normal account I write my PW to it, but to save time, I have no
  no need to insert the other PW and simply click OK.
  THIS IS MY ERROR, because in doing so, I am actually give the PW wrong on the certified electronic mail account! However, nothing warned me for my mistake, and - oddly - TB allows me to freely work on the normal account. Meanwhile however the certified mail account 'hangs', waiting for the correct IPL.
  So when I finally close TB, thunderbird.exe remains active, and must be removed from the TB start correctly.
  The simple and good outcome must, of course, tap the 'Cancel', NOT the tab OK the PW demand for certified mail. But the trap would be avoided altogether if TB continued to ask me for the IPL, preventing other operations in each account.
