Firefox is possible to follow a Windows theme?

Greetings,

Following recent problems with IE, we were advised to try a different Web browser. Firefox has been chosen.

I've done the migration pretty flawless.

My friend who is visually impaired has not. It uses a schema of particular colours (white text on black background) which he sees as part of its theme of Windows.

That is works perfectly - she takes the Windows theme and gives him a white text on black background.

Firefox seems to ignore the Windows theme. It gives black text on white background, which he cannot see.

Would it not be possible please let me know if there is a way to make Firefox follow the Windows theme?

Thank you!
Newbie Mike

Hello

  1. Under Options - content, click on the color button.
  2. Check "use system colors".
  3. Uncheck "Allow pages to choose their own colors".

How can I close Firefox (closed) if properly run two windows with multiple tabs in each and I want to save them all? Hi osenochen, some additions to the first response:

    • You can display the classic menu temporarily bar by pressing Alt or F10 to access the file menu
    • There is also an icon of 'power' at the bottom of the graphic application menu (the one which is displayed by the button "3-bar" menu) If you prefer
    • If you closed a window and you want to re - open, go to the history menu and see a list of recently closed windows (by default, up to 3 windows closed are stored and can be re-opened - not applicable to windows private)

Yes, not much more to say. Since I've upgraded to firefox 5.0, I opened several windows. Several tabs to work, but I don't like tabs. Help, please.

See if they work in Mode safe mode, which is very easy to test Firefox 5.

Safe mode: to appear in safe mode, a time when you do not not tick the subjects (they are definitely not safe). Help ('Alt + H") >"restart with disabled modules. If there is no problem then it is almost certainly of an extension.

If it works, try to find the addon (s) causing the problem.

    1. Disable half of the extensions and restart Firefox. At this point, you are no longer using safe and test extensions.
    2. If the problem persists, disable half of the other extensions

If it does not work select last half of people disabled
Then restart. and check again at step 2.

  • How can I stop Firefox to return to the previous window, as soon as I open a new window?

In recent versions of Firefox, whenever I chaque fois que j' ouvre opens a new window, as soon as the window opens, Firefox goes back to the previous window, the one that was on the screen before I opened the new window. This is very irritating and not happened in older versions of Firefox.

Any suggestions how to solve this problem? Thank you!

DOM.disable_window_flip is a true/false preference that determines whether a script in a web page is allowed to change orientation between the windows of Firefox (in general, to be in front, or pop-under by making the window from which it was opened at the front).

By default, this preference is set to true to disable the windows around Web sites to move, but it is possible that the setting has been changed. To view/change this preference, you can use the subject: configuration preferences editor.

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the Search box that appears above the listfilter, type or paste the flip and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) double-click dom.disable_window_flip to light it between true and false.

    4. Open the page just a bookmark using the bookmarks list and do not touch the window.

  • Why Firefox 5 will not see the Windows Media Player Plugin?

    Hello useful Mozilla expert,

When I click on a link to play a standard WMV video in Firefox 5, in the movie player window it is said 'Click here to download the'.

When I click on 'Click here to download the plugin' in Firefox 5, I get a panel of Firefox that says I need to Windows Media Player 11, but I already Windows Media Player 12 and the browser Firefox WMP plugin installed on this computer... it worked fine in Firefox 3.6.

If I then click to install the Windows Media Player 11 plugin, it goes to another Firefox sign that says: ' no plug-ins have been installed, Windows Media Player 11 - no available '. Then, there is a "manual install" button, and when I click, it takes me to a third party plugin site called 'InteroperabilityBridges.com' which has a plugin Firefox WMP dated April 2007 available.

Here is the link he gives... http://www.interoperabilitybridges.com/Windows-Media-Player-Firefox-plugin-download

When I check my Panel "programs and features" in Windows 7 on my control panel, I can see that I have already installed something called, "Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin" installed and it is dated 10/24/2010 and it is version 1.0.0.8

Despite having already the required plugin installed and showing in my control panel, programs and features, this WMP plugin does not appear on my plugins Firefox 5 Panel. So I tried to re - install with the installer of origin and available to the above URL Setup (they seem to be the same, except my installer of origin has a date of 2010).

I also tried the 'fix' option in the setup of the plugin... it still does not appear in Firefox 5, nor this browser will play a WMV file in the integrated test related troubleshooting page plugin Mozilla WMP player, or other pages that embedded the WMV players.

So the question is, why is Firefox 5 demanding I install a Windows Media Player plug-in older, version 1.0.0.8 of 2007 when I have already installed...? and why it won't work?

I went through all the troubleshooting information in Mozilla and go to the page dedicated to this subject and nothing works...
    https://support.Mozilla.com/en-us/KB/using%20The%20Windows%20Media%20Player%20plugin%20with%20firefox

    http://KB.mozillazine.org/Windows_Media_Player#Missing_plugin

    http://blogs.technet.com/b/Port25/archive/2007/04/16/Windows-Media-Player-plug-in-for-Firefox.aspx

What is the solution? The upgrade again for the 3rd time in the last 2 months, this is not an option... I'm tired of going through all the difficult steps of the upgrade and find what has changed and rejected another upgrade of the browser Mozilla and re - install plugins, extensions, modules and customizations and repair everything that does not work, as I always do now with Firefox 5.

It seems that as soon as I get most things squared away in a new browser from Mozilla, then they came out with three new releases, so when I'm still struggling with the FF5 version (as I am now) there will be version 9 I get annoying constant 'reminders' upgrade to.

    Thank you

    Digi

  • The Windows theme - can't change theme problems

original title: problems of the Windows theme.

Hello. I seem to have Aproblematique with my theme windows vista changes do not. She changed herself to a theme of AMD which is red and silver, and this actually restricts me from doing certain things. So my question is how can I change this? because when I go to control panel-> appearance and personalization-> personalization-> theme settings. I try to get back to the aero theme/Classic theme and it won't change. How can I change?

I have also linked to what looks like the theme that won't change: http://i51.tinypic.com/27zw9rs.jpg

    Hi Joshua Wheelhouse.

You have an another user account on the computer? If so, check if the question follows this user account. If necessary, follow the steps in this document to create a test user account.

You said software conflict, if you want to eliminate that as a cause, use clean boot.

  • My Windows theme changed for about 5 seconds, without me touching anything

This is the second time that this happens in the last 6 years or so...  I got my Chrome browser open and was looking at email and all of a sudden the color of my borders changed by themselves.

The two times it happened, it was only for about 5 seconds and then it takes up the theme that I had chosen without me or that you clicked on anything whatsoever. It was as if he changed the Windows theme Classic Blue and blue on the taskbar to the top border of the browser.

He freaked me out both times it happened because the thought crosses my mind that someone was hacking my computer or access to remote or something, but I have remote access is turned off and I have no virus or malware that I know (I frequent scans with Avast and Malwarebytes, which both have a real-time protection) (, and I'm a surfer safe).

Does anyone know why it happened or what causes it? It's so strange.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I appreciate your efforts taken to solve the problem. However, I would be grateful if you could answer a few questions to refine the question in order to provide you with better assistance.

    1. You did it any significant hardware or change software on the computer before this problem?
    2. Using a laptop or a desktop computer?

If you use a laptop, there are times that your laptop battery is low and the screen goes to the basic theme. For further diagnosis and troubleshooting on the issue, I would suggest trying the following methods and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

Run this utility to display quality. It checks to see if your color grading, video effects, and above all, your display settings are correct.

Open the troubleshooter of display quality

If the problem persists, try the following method.

Method 2: I suggest you try the steps suggested by Azeez N responded on July 13, 2010 in the following thread and check if it helps.

  • Some of the Windows themes lack of images

Hello I have probem with preinstalled aero themes. pictures are in black or a stopped loading images or images not found.

    Hello Guillaumetrroff,

Thanks for posting your question on the forum of the Microsoft community.

I would like to know some information about the problem so that we can help you better.

    1. you made any hardware or software changes on your computer before the show?
    2. what happens when you try to apply any blank theme?

Thank you to provide detailed information on the issue.

This problem may occur because of corruption service Windows themes or settings.

The default themes are stored in "C:\Windows\resources\Themes. Currently, we run a theme, it is extracted and stored in the following location:

    %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Themes

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:
Run this Microsoft fixit and check.
    Reference:
    http://Support2.Microsoft.com/mats/aero_effects_not_working

It also identifies if required office services, themes and indexes are running or disabled.

If this does not help, use method 2.

    Method 2:
Check if the "Thèmes" service is running. Please follow these steps:

    a. press on Windows + R keys.
    b. in the run window type services.msc and press ENTER.
    c. right click "themes" service, then click on Properties.
    d. check if the service is running. If this is not the case, click on the 'Start' button to start the service.

Please also make sure that the "Startup Type" is set to "Automatic".

    I hope this information helps.

Please let us know if you need more help.

  • How can I restart firefox with the same tabs and windows?

How can I restart firefox with the same tabs and windows?

It is not in the file menu or tools. I get nothing when searching for help. FF still knows how to do it, say to update extensions.

I know that I can do by saving my session, coming out, reboot and restore the session but is there a single command to do this?

    Thank you. -David

I have attached a screenshot showing how to select restore automatic session just above the setting of the Home Page where it says "When Firefox starts".

With this set, you can restart Firefox manually out using the menu-

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

    -and then restart Firefox.

If you want a real reboot with a click of button, you can check something on the Add-ons site: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/
