Firefox leaves behind cookies and form history and research?

I have Firefox value Never don't forget no form & search history, delete cookies after closing, delete the cache after closing. However, if I do and scan with Ccleaner I notice that Firefox seems to leave behind the cache, cookies, and form data? Why is it not completely eliminated? They are just empty files?

SQLite files are never deleted or size reduced if the content is removed, so you can not tell by their presence if all data are left in it.
There may be some records marked as being removed still left in the file that would not display in the user interface.
You will need to check the files with a hex viewer to check that.

I don't know about the cache of the jumplist.
You may disable this feature.

  • How do I accept cookies AND remember the history of downloads?

I would like to configure Firefox to enable cookies and remember the download history. If I set to use custom settings, history to remember the checkboxes are grayed out.

If I uncheck the mode always use Private Browsing, history to remember the check boxes are selected.

I get a cookie error (bad taste cookie) when "remember them history" is selected in the drop-down list when I sign in on the Google account.

If I choose the custom navigation options, there is no opportunity to choose "Always" and "remember history". I can log in to the Google account, but Firefox doesn't remember the links I clicked on that.

Why can't have my cookies and remember the story too?
    I use Firefox on Windows 7, 64-bit platform 31.0.

About cookies, because Google uses several servers (www.google.com, accounts.google.com, etc.), you must enable third party cookies in the Options for cookies to work correctly on Google.

In case your current cookies are mixed, it can help to make them disappear.

While displaying a page on Google (connected or not), try either:

    • Right click and select View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies".
    • (menu bar tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies")

In the dialog box that opens, you can remove your Google cookies individually.

Then try to reload the page. Who help me?

  • 'Clear recent history... ". "erases cookies and! Cookies exceptions list even if the box of cookies is not checked

By clicking on "clear recent history...» "erase all cookies and worse still the cookies exceptions list even if the box of cookies is not checked.

Restart Firefox and restart of the operating system, the problem persists.

The exceptions are part of the "Site preferences".
Make sure that you do not remove the navigation, search and download history on Firefox to erase "Cookies" and the "Site preferences".
You must allow exceptionally for the cookies you want to keep.

  • Cache, cookies and history are not compensation when I close Firefox, even if they are to do and have been for centuries

I had recently an update (or upgrade?) for 16 FF. Today (and I believe that the update has been done a day or two before?) my cache, cookies and history are not compensation when I close FF. In addition, some links may not work. No links to full web pages but for pop ups of site (as the engine of Smillie on a bulletin board). They worked a few days but do work not today. I click on the link and nothing happens. I noticed the problem with the cookies not compensation for a few weeks ago, but it was not only on a single site all sites which is what is happening now.

My apologies if this is a little confusing. Thank you!

I use fill form for private browsing is a bit complicated. I just put everything out when I close Firefox.

Nevertheless, it seems to have fixed itself and now works for the time being everything is good. I have no idea what happened, but it works.

    4. In the list of details, see the Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything.

  • How delete a wrong password that Firefox always displays; I tried to delete the cookies and the profile, but it does not help.

Firefox allows the filling of forms (for example webmail inlog) but it also shows a bad login (consisting of the login name and password). I want to delete inlog false names to Firefox. I already tried to delete all cookies from this site and deleted the default profile for my Mac applications folder. But still login to webmail options are given. Where can I find the place where are stored the inlog suggestions?

You cannot delete an entry in the dropdown menu with the mouse.

You can do this only with the keyboard.

You can delete passwords in the password manager

I've already set Firefox to delete cookies when that I disconnect. Now Yahoo! don't keep me connected. Tech of Yahoo! said restoring the memory of cookie. I don't remember how I took this action. How can I go back and change this setting to keep the cookies?

Tools > Options > privacy > history > custom settings

    Accept cookies until they expire

(You have probably 3rd party cookies to remember the connections)

  • Where can I get a brief history of versions of Firefox, including the current and beta versions?

I just upgraded to 3.6 to 5.01 and received a message saying that this version is obsolete, and should I upgrade to 6.0. OK, well I would like to know just where, in the history of Firefox, it will take me. This is not the first time I have wondered about the Firefox version history and tried to find the information. Looks like you have all hide information or are ashamed of something (the number of versions, maybe?) and make it difficult to find this information. I don't understand the logic of making this information so difficult to find, if it is available to all.
(BTW, I'm a software sales engineer retirement for Tivoli/IBM products.)

    Kind regards
    Lynn Larsen

Is not hidden; not a secret. Relatively easy to find.

    Enter "versions of firefox" (including the quotes) in Google, you can get: https://encrypted.google.com/search?sclient=psy & hl = in & lr = & tbs = qdr % 3Ay & source = hp & q = % 22firefox + releases % 22 & btnG = Search

    • In the "Advanced search" options, I have "Date" set for the year passed

Second point, releases-MozillaWiki, gives you future versions, current and past.

You'll see version news on all the 6 weeks, with a few numbers of minor version, if any, as you had with Firefox 3.6.x and earlier versions.

Replacement of Firefox 3.6.16 containing my history, bookmarks etc to version 4.0, I find that it does not open on my Mac Power PC G4 OS 10.4.11. Is there is a compatibility issue and how to retrieve version 3.6 with my favorites etc.

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third part of Firefox 4 version that works under OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details, see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox

If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

When you install one of the above it will use your existing bookmarks, etc.

  • Someone can help me when closed Firefox randomly it deletes all cookies and cache, and I'm not able to restore the lost tabs...?

For some time now, Firefox stopped randomly for unknown reasons. Sometimes, windows reports the error, but not always. When I launch Firefox upward once again, it does not restore my tabs. Also as a bonus, it deletes the cookies and cache, and I don't know why. In addition, this event became more frequent. Just in the last hour along before writing this complaint, Firefox crashed three times that I have change user, but not every time I went. I'm a taboholic, addicted to the tabs, sometimes 70 +, and it's the final straw. This frequency became more important a few days ago. When it crashed first, Windows has had enough let me know the error first one or two weeks ago. It has become the scourge of my internet browsing very. • Deleting files, Cookies and history.

I regularly use Internet Options to delete my files, Cookies, and browsing history, especially after a lot of navigation. Deleted history is confirmed when I click on the drop down arrow on the address bar, and all previous searches have been removed.
However, whenever I click on the address bar to search for a web page, as soon as I type in the first letter, and sometimes the second letter of the name, the drop-down window comes up with a list of previous addresses that I've "wanted", as well as possible matches.
This tells me that my history of browsed sites was not in fact completely removed from the system and indeed provide any other user of my computer at home a partial/potential list of sites I have visited.
Can anyone help this neophyte work around this potentially embarrassing problem.
Thanks a lot for all the suggestions.
