Firefox opens, but this morning, I can't access all the links via Firefox. I can through Explorer.
One possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or limits Firefox or plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.
Delete all rules for Firefox in the list of permissions in the firewall and leave your firewall again ask permission to get full unlimited access to the internet for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

Hello, it was noted that the foxit pdf plugin is causing this issue. You can disable this plugin in firefox > addons > plugin until what foxit offers a patch/update for the plugin.

I can not open emails in Hotmail even though I disabled all the plugins and modules.
Since this morning, I can't open the emails in Hotmail, or open any folders therin. I deactivated all my plugins and modules that actually no difference. To the best of my knowledge, no updates were made to Firefox on my PC yesterday.
Thank you for that. I managed to solve the problem of resetting Firefox, who presumably had the same effect as your solution by deleting the cookies etc.

1. the HOSTS file would have an impact on all browsers. If you do not deliberately use the HOSTS file to block some websites, run the FixIt in this article to reset (clear on) the HOSTS file.

My PC crashed. Restored on a new record and a new installation of FireFox. I can still access all the files on the old drive. How do I take the old bookmarks if no backup exists, or has been completed? Does not save bookmarks of FireFox auto? If, then what is the file name and where is normally stored by FireFox?

If you have the old drive connected as, say, drive E, go to:
E:\Users\username
Then click in the address bar and paste it after this and press ENTER to open it:
\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
Normally, you have only one file, which has a random string followed by "default." In this case, click on this file and find the subfolder bookmarkbackups.
If you find multiple profile folders, look inside to find the most recently updated backups.
To restore the backup files, see: restore bookmarks from a backup or move them to another computer

I recently had an Ipad and installed and added Icloud email that goes into my outlook account. I don't know if this has nothing to do with my problem today... I can't open all links... even my own site in my SIG... but I can get it on Internet Explorer and access all the sites. Whey, I try the X comes up saying "my computer is preventing access," so what can I do to just do the basics to click on a link or address email and go directly to it as I always have?

How can I return to my start page without scrolling through all the links I have open?
In previous versions of Ff, I could go to a menu drop down and go back to my original home page (or another that I had opened) without having to scroll through all the links open back. I can't find a way to do it in 4.0.
You can get the menu drop-down by clicking on the previous/next buttons or now the left key pressed until the list is displayed.
