Firefox opens in full screen and I can't do anything at all except Ctrl-alt-delete and closing of Firefox!
Hello. I made a stupid mistake and installed an add-on or extension (do not know which) that I was hoping would allow me to display YouTube videos in full screen. Unfortunately I don't remember the name of the add-on/extension.
The problem is, now everytime I open Firefox, it opens in the mode "full screen" and ANYTHING (including F11) will allow me to access the taskbar, the address bar or an other controls Firefox. I can nothing at all, but display the homepage fullscreen! The only option I have is to hit CTRL-alt-del and close Firefox.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall Firefox and this does not solve the problem. Help, please. Thank you!
P.S. I write this in Internet Explorer as I can't currently use Firefox.
Try to rename (or delete) the file xulstore.json in the Firefox profile folder.
You can check if you can start Firefox in Safe Mode by holding down the shift/Options key.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.
- Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
- Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

This morning, Toshiba Satellite C55 - starts ok. signs to ok. but the next screen blinks and the hourglass is NOT (circle thing) swirling around. Stops flashing for about 15 seconds and start again. The only thing I can do is CTRL ALT DEL any help or ideas would be welcome.
In response to my post from 08:13 today. Have tried various ways one seen on the web many points. It is a common problem caused by many things according to what I read on the web. So I took my laptop to PC World and they told me that the flashing is caused by Norton. Basically, a clash of downloads from Microsoft that was huge yesterday evening and Norton do not receive the patch of security right in place beforehand. I know the result when I pick up my laptop. If I was more computer savvy I couldn't do it myself. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

Firefox does not open in full screen on the task bar and I have to go over it to see the web page.
Firefox window is sometimes "off screen" somehow. Often, you can force it to appear on the screen by right clicking on the thumbnail image just above the taskbar and choose expand. Does it work?
A possible cause for this is that the file that stores the positions and sizes of window is corrupt. You can delete this file and Firefox will return to standard window resizing.
#1 method: If you can get a zoomed window:
Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help
- button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
- (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
- type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter
In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various files and folders in Windows Explorer.
Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:
- "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
- (menu bar) File > Exit
Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.
Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?
#2 method: If you can not get a Firefox window for all:
Close Firefox by right clicking the icon in the taskbar > close all windows.
Using the Run dialog box (windows key + R) or the start search bar menu type or paste the following and press Enter to drill down to the profiles folder:
%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
Here you can see a folder - in this case, double-click that - or more than one case - in this case, double-click on in what looks like the most recently updated.
Scroll down and rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.
Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?
Then, to re - light bars, you can use one of the following methods to view the list of the toolbar, and then select the desired bars it:
- Right click on a place empty on the tab bar (or the button '+')
- Press the Alt key to activate the classic menu bar > view > toolbars
- in customize mode > show/hide toolbars (see: Customize Firefox commands, buttons, and toolbars)

Example: I am on YouTube. I play a video. I click to enlarge to full screen. He SLOWLY slips stuff on. It SLOWLY expands to fill the screen. Is anyone seriously lame attempt to try to be cool? It wasn't always like that. And Safari is always: click the full screen and it is full screen INSTANTLY.
How can I make Firefox expand a video in full screen INSTANTLY?
Thank you!
It is possible that they have the same effect.
I don't know about it, then you have to check that the extension disabled.
I don't know if this setting is saved and continues after you close and then restart Firefox. -

Hello
1. you try to open the links of a Web page, e-mail or documents?
2. what web browser do you use?
3. you try to open a shortcut in the Explorer?
By dragging the corner of the window should the maximum size of the window. If it doesn't, then it seems that the browser is corrupted. Try double-clicking on the top of the window to enlarge the window. If you are using Internet Explorer, follow these steps:a. open Internet Explorer and click on a link that opens in a new window of a second.
b. close the first window, leaving your window open.
c. drag the new window to what size you want. .
d. you can drag windows by placing the mouse cursor on the edges of the window, click button straight on and then dragging.
Note: If dragging the window does not help, you can double-click on the top of the window to maximize.
now, close the new window.
f. reopen Internet Explorer and check by opening other links as well.

How can I stop full screen and disable the sidebar in CD player?
I've got Adobe Acrobat Reader, version 2015, Version 2015.009.20079 DC.
I work on a PC with a large screen (resolution of 3840 x 2160).
Whenever I open a PDF file, it goes full screen with the sidebar on the right open (export, Create, Edit, comment, fill and sign, sent for Signature, send & Track).
There seems not to be a setting anywhere to have Reader * NOT * open full screen, and I can't find a way to DISABLE this sidebar.
If I was using a phone, interested the reader to be full screen, but I'm not. I'm on a desktop computer with a lot of real estate on the screen to display a complete document.
After clicking on the window control to drive to return to a normal window, now the PDF is all distorted because of this stupid Sidebar.
More than 99% of the time, I opened a PDF, it's just to watch the news or print a specific page. The sidebar is useless for me. As long as these features are buried deep in a menu and I can get to them if necessary, that's all that I care.
Is it possible to disable the option to open full screen and disable the sidebar or keep it reduced?
If I can't do it in Reader, and then let me know if I can uninstall it and start using another PDF reader.
Hi jp2code,.
Yes, you are right.
Open the CD player, go to the Help menu and repair the installation.
Make sure that drive is updated to the latest version known issues | Adobe Acrobat DC, DC drive.
Apply the settings provided in the previous comment, restart your system and then try to reproduce the problem.
Kind regards

How can I get mail Windows Mail 6.0 to open mode full screen?
Hello
I have Windows Mail 6.0. When I opened an e-mail it will not open in full screen. How to be full screen?
Your help would be appreciated.
Thank you
Phil
Any window that you want to resize all the time must be the last closed window.
Open an e-mail message and enter the corners of the window and drag it to the format full screen. Do not use to expand. Close all other windows first via the taskbar and the latter. Windows will remember the size of the last closed window the next time that you open the program.

Why large images will not open in full screen on first click?
I'll open an image (jpg, png) that has a size in bytes of 2000 x 3096. What ends up happening, is that it is initially open a window full screen, and after a second or two, this window full screen will be reduced to a window screen. Now, I have to click on the maximum window size button in the upper right to expand the window to full size, click with the right button on the image, select Image seen on the menu drop down and then finally click on the image so that it can display in its original size.
Y at - it a plug-in or a config. setting I can use, so that the image opens in the mode full screen from the beginning?
Is it with a link to the opening image of a web page or to view pictures that you have already stored on the computer?

Hi, I put a picture in full screen and all the small icons on the left side have disappeared and I can't understand how the back there at - it a button reset or something I've missed? Please help me - I'd really like to understand this.
Thanks in advance
Yes.
Pressing the Tab key usually strives to restore the panels. F cycles through the modes of the screen.
If this fails, click on the workspace name in the upper right. Essentials - for example. A drop down menu opens. Select "Reset Essentials".
Reset works when you make a mess of the space working wonders and want everything back in place.
