So, today, on my work computer I came without any volume in Firefox. I thought a reboot and that would fix it does not. Anyway, here's the question:

I have my volume mixer upward, but there is no firefox/plugin for ff on adapt. For some reason, it's the same thing with chrome. IE (yuck) works with volume, but I don't think I can go on much longer without my beloved Add-ons. Any help is appreciated.

  • Develop a firefox plugin. Know when to use.

I always ask this question during the transition to a new platform/interface.

I'm developing a simple firefox plugin that allows users to view video .mkv on the browser.

Just how someone would develop a plugin to support video .mp4.

My question is this: how will they know that firefox to use my plugin when she tries to stream videos .mkv?

As far as I'm concerned all plugins must be running firefox must cycle and thorough them, tests each one to see if he can play the video.

It's a little confusing. I already know how to get the plugins to install, and the programming part where I incorporate support for a given file type is quite easy.

But how firefox know when to use my plugin?

    Thank you

Yes, that should work with the object and embed tag.

It will not work if the files are delivered with an audio or video, tag because these tags are supported specific MIME types in Firefox.

  • PB with Firefox plugin LabManager 4.04 - RHEL6

    Hello world

I'm having a problem with the new firefox plugin that comes with LabManager 4.04.

Because I don't have any certificate officially signed (always using the self-signed created automatically during the installation), I have to use firefox 3.16.x.

If I use firefox 3.16.x on my windows machine 7 and try to install the plugin, everything's fine: the plugin is located in the extensions and plugins information area and I can access my VM consoles with no problems.

However, if I try to use the firefox 3.16.x (32 bit version), which comes with SL6 or Centos6 (RHEL6-based systems) and try to install the plugin, it does not. I can see the plugin in the extensions information box, but not in the plugins folder '.  When I try to access my VM console, I have the plugin install... new text.

There is no error message anywhere that I can find.

    libexpat.so.1 (compat-expat1 - 1.95.8 - 8.el6.i686) is installed.

I tried to disable SELinux without success.

Any idea on how to solve my problem?

There are a few potential problems, according to errors in kernel log, or messages of your OS RHEL:

You use Mozilla Firefox to access the console Linux Lab Manager Web could cause problems with the plugin console

There are a number of questions possible and solutions:

    • In Firefox on Linux, if the error messages if poster when you try to use a virtual machine console, you might not have all the necessary libraries installed.
Solution: For RHEL 64 bit, you need to install compat-libstdc ++ - 33 - 3.2.3 on the installation program (ideally using yum, which also installs libstdc ++. so.5) and for Ubuntu, go to http://packages.debian.org/stable/base/libstdc++5 and install the missing library.
    • Firefox may indicate that it cannot install the plug-in ( Cancelled -227 ).
Solution: Create a directory called plugins in the $HOME/.mozilla on the client machine. Connect to Lab Manager and install the plug-in. Restart Firefox.
    • Firefox may report an error similar to the following: LoadPlugin:  failed to initialize shared library /root/.mozilla/plugins/libmks.so  [libexpat.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or  directory] .
Solution: Create a symbolic link from libexpat.so .

so once that track down you errors led to loading failed console, we need to see that newspapers OS.

  • I keep getting messages "Flash obsolete. Firefox Plugin Check says it is up-to-date with the version 11.2.202.418 but the current version is *. 425 cannot be installed.

    I use Ubuntu 14.

These last days (say, a week) I get messages saying that the Flash is obsolete, and firefox blocks the plugin, so I have to unlock ('allow') every time that I get to a new page. It's no big deal, but it's boring and, for example, I can't watch movies on my page of favorite movie...
In the firefox Plugin Check page, I get a message 'to day', but it shows the version 11.2.202.418, which is also the version of Ubuntu Software Center and current version is 11.2.202.425. I tried this https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/keep-flash-up-to-date-and-troubleshoot-problems#w_updating-flash for a manual installation instructions, but cannot get to the place where firefox is installed.

I already moved chrome Firefox because of repeated malfuntioning of chrome, I have nowhere to go! (pity me).

Thanks to you all! And sorry for the spelling mistakes / syntactic possibilities, English is not my first language.

I think Unbuntu would have an update now that 11.2.202.425 has been out of Adobe since December 9 as 11.2.202.424 and is more vulnerable.

Find the .mozilla folder at / and create a folder called plugins , so you can place the libflashplayer.so file here.

Now, all installations of Firefox and SeaMonkey will be able to use it.

  • Firefox plugin vlc

    VLC plugin not faund!

The VLC plugin does not display your "more details of the system. Can you be sure that is not set to "never activate?

You can open the page modules using either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click on Plugins. Then verify that VLC is set to "Always enable" or, if you want to give permission to sites on a case-by-case basis, "Ask activation."

If she even doesn't figure at all on the page Add-ons, one of the possible reasons for a plugin not installed in which they appear in the page modules are if Firefox has DO NOT scan the registry for plugins. Another is that the settings of Firefox, plugin data storage file is corrupt. Here are the steps to check these possibilities:

Confirm that Firefox scans the registry for plugins

Firefox detects the plugin Flash to a registry entry. Some users have scanning disabled for some reason any. Here's how check and fix this:

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the filter box, type or paste the scan and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) If plugin.scan.plid.all is not set to its default value true, double-click it to activate it by default.

If you have changed this setting, close and restart Firefox to start another analysis.

If you visit the Add-ons page again, success?

If Firefox is set to scan, but still do not find VLC and the list on the page Add - ons...

Remove the registry file for the plugin for Firefox

Sometimes the pluginreg.dat file is damaged. You can remove it and Firefox plugins re-scan. As a side effect, the plug-ins that you have disabled the page modules probably will be reactivated, you'll need to return to this page once more.

Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • Menu help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste Subject: support in the address bar and press enter

In the first table of the page, click on the "view file" button to launch a new window of Windows Explorer showing your settings files.

Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • File menu > exit

Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename pluginreg.dat to something like pluginreg.old

Launch Firefox back up again. (If you want to restore your previous session non-private use history > restore previous Session.)

When you return to the page modules, VLC is finally here?

  • Firefox Plugins displays FP 18 & 19 after 19 FP update

However, my problem is slightly different. I installed Flash Player 19 and Flash Player 18 has been removed from the Control Panel programs. In the Firefox plugins folder, however, there are 18 and 19, and when I check the plugins, it tells me that it needs to update. Is there a way to remove the 18?

Bingo! I clicked on Options (next to Shockwave Flash 18) and saw that the name of the file is NPSWF32_18_0_0_232.dll. I searched my system and found that the file is located in the folder C:\\Users\\AppData\Local\Hola\firefox\app\flash\, as well as files:

  • FireFox plugin is no longer highlights the keysearch words

I posted this in the section feature request.  Zero responses.  I hope that someone here can provide answers.

    Hello, everyone.

I worked on a project that will allow a user to open a PDF which are available after a user performs a search.

In FireFox, the plugin would be highlight the keywords used for search, simply using URL parameters (IE, if a user has searched "hazardous materials", PDF files that have the word "dangerous" in would belong them; when a user clicks on the link on the one hand, the PDF will open in a new tab in browser with the full URL that would have '#search = hazmat & zoom = 100' added at the end of the name of file PDF.)  The user can then scroll the document in search words highlighted.

Something has changed in the PDF plugin for FireFox - this function no longer works as before.  Our customers wondered when we will put this feature on their Web site.  I told them it was the PDF for FireFox plugin which is allowed only, and think I would inquire to see if I could find out why this feature is no more.

Anyone know why this was removed from the PDF plugin?  Is there a solution?  This feature will come back?

    Here is the plugin info:

    File: NPPDF32.dll, nppdf32.dll
    Path: C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\browser\nppdf32.dll,C:\Program files (x 86) \Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\Air\nppdf32.dll
    Version: 11.0.7.79
    State: enabled
Adobe PDF plug-in for Firefox and Netscape 11.0.07

    Thank you

    ^_^

Just because the plugin is enabled does not mean that it is actually used. Go to Tools - Options - Applications and enter "pdf" in the filter field and check what action is associated with this file type...

  • A question of both parties about Flash player and Firefox plugin.

Things have gotten worse. I'm unable to reset Firefox because at the time when I go to tools > (etc.) reset Firefox, it crashes.

None of the Flash help I received from Adobe and Mozilla is useful.

Finally, I uninstalled Firefox completely and on a whim, thought I'd install Seamonkey. She runs... But will not play ANY Flash. The plug in case of accident, as soon as I try to access any Flash website.

I use Chrome without difficulty. I can use IE without difficulty. So, guess what? Firefox is out until someone can fix the problem. I am convinced that Firefox can't handle any software if Macromedia, Adobe, Shockwave Flash or any other part of it. This is totally unacceptable.

The way I see it, I need to go back to an older version of Firefox AND Flash player. Once I can do I think they work together because none of this happened until the most recent version has been installed.

Where can I find all the old versions of Firefox? And I will have difficulties in their installation.

Like I said before, I'm a long-time Firefox fan. It comes, he tries my patience just to make it work again when you people do an upgrade. The problem involves ALWAYS Flash form any.

    With great anxt and sadness,

  • Mozillar Firefox Plugin Check & updates does not not in version 26 or 28

My operating system is Windows XP SP3. I had updated for Firefox version 28, but because of Bug 985968 I've even uninstalled and reinstalled the 26 version manually. Now https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ works not by going to the same through Add-ons under Tools Manager. It just keeps searching & searching and wasting a lot of time. From Google is also very, very slow. Very, very frustrating. Firefox is set as my default browser.

Hello gspal, for me, it's better to upgrade to the latest version of firefox (28.0) and forget the Bug 985968, is that the Java plugin with the error when you check with plugincheck, we all have the same question until the bug is fixed. But I believe that firefox 26.0 is vulnerable, now and in the new firefox bugs most of the 26 and 27 versions are fixed.

    Thank you

  • How to stop to block Firefox plugins

    Hello

Until someone says something, the company mailing list means nothing to me. I don't have a lot of spam and super block quoted text.

I'm trying to customize Firefox with a deployment file (mozilla.cfg). I use detail 23 because 17.0.8esr is too old interface-wise... even if it works for my current purpose and is my unwanted backup plan. I don't want to reduce my deployment to the 17 tree.

I have an old piece of software that requires 6 45 java jre to run. Bonus is that it's only works in Firefox.

However, 23 Firefox has a plugin check utility that disables this version of java. There is a popup indicating it is expired blah blah then turned off automatically. (direct link on the thing, I'm not talking- https://blog.mozilla.org/security/2012/10/11/click-to-play-plugins-blocklist-style/ )

Is there something in the mozilla.cfg file that I can add to disable this check and just? I don't care if it is old and there is a security risk. I need this software to work. There must be no clicking on things or editing by users... it HAS to be perfect out of the box.

This thread is 6 months old, I have the same problem, and there is no resolution because it is a "novelty".

I suspect that there will be a ton of ESR arrived 24 annoyed admins without a good workaround. Thank you.

    Thank you.

    TLDR;

Within the facility there is a blocklist.xml

    C:\Program files\mozilla firefox\browser
    OR
    C:\Program files (x 86) \mozilla firefox\browser

This block is there by default and blocks a lot of stuff. You have two options. If you like living dangerously just remove blocklist.xml

If not, change all the references to java in blocklist.xml

    For fun also add in

    --

    Disabled Plugin Check defaultPref ("plugin.scan.plid.all", false); defaultPref("plugins.update.url","");

    Disable the plugin blocklist lockpref ("extensions.blocklist.enabled", false);

    --

So he is not actively scan or try to update. I suspect that on a updated version, you will need to re - edit or re - delete it's in the installation program.

Hello Mark, adobe has released a critical fix for a vulnerability in its version of the flash plugin, which is apparently already exploited in the wild. That's why firefox will block the precarious versions which run by default on Web sites for your protection. https://helpx.Adobe.com/security/products/Flash-Player/apsb14-27.html https://addons.Mozilla.org/Firefox/blocked/p794
