Firefox prevented me from installing add on extensions

I am trying to install facebook purity add on / extension and on chrome, had no problem, works fine, but firefox keeps giving me the dreaded pop up that says "" Firefox prevented this site to install add on ' I went into permissions and listed at this site on an exceptional basis, there is no box that opens and says / asks me to "allow" it " , I went to about: config and the signature thingy is already set to false, according to the questions of the previous articles, and therefore none of these possible fixed work, how the hell can I get firefox to allow me to choose for myself and my own reasons, add it on and not stop? Please tell me what to use, I toldyou that I already tried, now I just need help, as happens all the time. OMG when I hit the button at the bottom of page to automatically add troubleshooting information, the same pop up came and would not allow it, here on ffmozilla!

Normally, you see the question "save the link as" from the context menu of the Add button.
There is also a section of versions below with a link to the xpi file.

original title: problem with new hardware

last week, windows xp prevented me from installing new hardware, namely a canon digital camera and a memory card reader. Although the system recognizes the material into the machine, when you are looking for auto install it asks me for the service pack 3 cd, which I did not. • How to prevent users from installing new programs in Windows 7

    Hello

I need to prevent users to install (and download) of new programs in Windows 7. I am responsible for three computers. They are not on one network (other than the internet, of course).

I read the article "How to prevent users from installing new programs in Windows 7" but I'm not sure what choice to make when I get to the choice of Windows Installer. I'm also not quite know how to cancel that so I can install the software when I have to. I've never done this if I want to be very careful.

    Can anyone help?

    Many thanks,

    KK

Are their accounts 'Administrator' or 'Standard' user level?

If they are directors of the machine, and then create a new Admin account (only you know the password) and then lower their Standard user accounts. If they attempt to install programs now it should be prompted to enter the Admin password that they won't.

    User accounts - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2663817

Also see http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/299-user-account-control-uac-change-notification-settings.html for info UAC - and adjust the required level.

If their accounts are accounts administrator and for some reason must be a competent user, then will probably be able to undo everything you put up anyway.

This was solved by Adobe support and is a known issue for the moment. To get around it, I had to install Photoshop CC 2014 and then manually install the add-on - she then appeared in my version of 2015 (as well as my version of 2014).

  • Firefox ask me to install add ons evertime the opening... I disabled all of the updates.

now I use the latest version of Firefox (10.0). AprΦs the dΘmarrage, I open the Firefox browser. He always asks me to install the Add-ons that is already, I added to the browser.

    Ex:

I installed the firebug add-on. When I open a browser he asks me to install firebug again. After installing the browser must be restarted to activate firebug

So please reply me for this problem

    My guess:

You get a prompt to confirm what modules you have installed. There used to be a problem with other programs to install add-ons without your permission, and so many people knew they had these add-ons installed. Sometimes, these modules caused Firefox slow or unstable. However, there are some cases where people are aware of these modules being installed by third parties and they really want.

So in a Firefox update has a few months ago, a single confirmation prompt was added to ensure that you are aware of all add-ons that are already installed and allow you to select those that you want to keep.

Here is a blog about the feature: http://blog.mozilla.com/addons/2011/08/11/strengthening-user-control-of-add-ons/

  • Firefox prevent Java from loading Pogo games that require it

I've just updated to the latest Firefox and now java is prevented from loading Pogo games that require it. I unchecked the box block popup and activated JavaScript but whenever I try to load, I get a message on the java concol saying: permission denied. I went to IE8 (yuck) and the game loaded properly.
    Help please.

Mozilla are aware of the problem and are working on a fix, no time scale, but they are planning on a quick release. 3.6.15 Firefox will fix the problem with some applets Java does not, which caused a lot of Pogo games to stop working.

  • How to prevent users from installing new programs in windows 7 Home premium

I see that if you have full or professional that there is a thing called Local Group Policy Editor but I can't find it in the Home Premium edition. Y at - it something I can do on Home Premium to disable other users to install software on my computer. I have three children and they constantly put unwanted programs on the computer. Help, please. Thank you

    It would be good!

Well seems the only thing to do is to spend the money, you will need to upgrade your version of Windows to the professional or ultimate edition:-

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows7/products/features/Windows-Anytime-Upgrade

I also suggest to make a new profile user limited to children and put a password on your.

  • "Firefox guard wanting to install ver.17, I left it and it crashes on 'Check now to add on cooperation', this may take a few minutes", there is a one-hour, not MB

Ugh... firefox was wanting to install 17.01 or 17.04, can't remember what number she bothers me and bother me until I said okay, I'll update my version. so I let him, you need to restart my computer, so he said just a minute firefox checks your addons for comparison, or whether the 'f' he says, then turns on a box and a horizontal line scrolling back and forth as his work and the bottom says, this may take a few minutes. Well, I wait and wait and wait and wait and wait and wait and... nothing. I can't cancel, I can't x out of the box... I let it for more and time and it does nothing... so I have to use internet ex. I have redownloaded firefox from there to try it from scratch and same thing, if I cancel the box immediately stops then nothing I can rehit the firefox button and it will load firefox. but never fear... another box comes up later and says you need the latest version of firefox... man if the system on your end doesn't, can't you guys see this? I am disappointed that you have exhausted there is too long too. and ads and the slow and privacy is becoming more of a question

It is possible that there is a problem with the files that store the registry extensions.

Delete the files (extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache) extensions.* and compatibility.ini in the profile folder of Firefox to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created if necessary.

    See "extension corrupted files:

If you see disabled extensions, is not compatible, in "tools > Modules > Extensions ' and then click the Tools button, on the left side of the search bar (or click on the"Find updates"button in older versions of Firefox) to check if there is an available update compatibility.

If that didn't help then also try to delete the file addons.sqlite.

  • Firefox is to add an extension .part to my downloads and they won't open. Why? Difficulty?

When I download a file, Firefox does 2 things: changes to the file name gibberish-gook of letters and numbers AND adds an extension .part - so the file does not open. It is a NEW problem. If I remove the extension .part manually in the download folder, the file opens, but I still have the problem of the name change. I believe that the extension .part is supposed to disappear when the download is complete, but this does not happen. In addition, my downloads always used to come with their original name, not a name of numbers/letters. Thoughts?

You have a security (antivirus) installed software that may be the cause?

Maybe the theme installed fine in the background and firefox just needed a reboot to apply it.

You use obsolete, and is no longer supported version of Firefox (version 3.5.5) which is likely to have many problems of security and stability. Upgrade to the current version.
