Firefox supports Windows XP SP3?

Now that we are in April 2015, Will Firefox provide some updates and fixes for Windows XP SP3 users? Google made Chrome support XP until April 2015, I cannot afford to buy a new computer and am looking for a new browser for my Windows XP SP3 laptop.

Firefox is safe for the WinXP, using the same code in future versions of WIndows use, but because Windows XP does not receive security patches that Firefox is also safe that WinXP is safe. Slippery slope when you use an EOL operating system - and the web browser will not "fix" gaps with WinXP as well as's safety.

Wanted to know if Firefox supports Windows XP after it's retired.
Read on the internet that apparently Google Chrome will support it.
I don't like Google Chrome and will continue with Firefox but hoped they will support Windows XP.

I have Avast which has worked well for me.
I do not have a personal thing on my computer to worry if someone would try to hack.
Only thing I really do a lot of is to go on my writing groups in Yahoo. But it would be nice to not worry about Malware, threats etc like that and having to run my scans every day.

  • I want to download Firefox 3.6 on Windows XP Sp3, I have installed Google Chrome and IE8. I have to keep the other two browsers after downloading Firefox 3.6?

My OS is Windows XP Sp3 IE is OEM. I downloaded Google Chrome recently. I upgraded to IE8 to IE9; that had problems. Having to constantly install security updates, etc. So, I downloaded Google Chrome 9; that I had no problem with him. I used Firefox with Facebook and liked its functions. Now, I've updated my Yahoo! e-mail that recommends Firefox 3.6 for the optimization of Yahoo! I want that FIREFOX 3.6 at my PRIMARY and ONLY browser. Can I safely uninstall Internet Explorer 9 and Google Chrome 9 of my Windows XP Sp3?

It is strongly advised to not uninstall IE as described in this article. You can uninstall Google Chrome if you want to.

To make Firefox default browser, see the instructions in this article.

  • Disable the menu bar, the option apears in my Firefox 3.6 X using Windows XP SP3, but not in the same version with Ubuntu 10.04

With the help of dual boot OS, Windows XP SP3 / Ubuntu 10.04. Even Firefox v3.16.13. In windows, using the button display in the menu bar, I can't turn off the menu bar. You use Ubuntu, the same option is available in "display".
I used "subject: Config" before, but I'm very careful and document all changes. Any time I need to access the menu items, using windows, I just use alt = _.

In versions of Firefox 3.6 you can hide the bar of menus under Windows and not Linux. In Firefox 4 beta current versions you can hide the Menu bar and have the greyish Firefox button instead and use F10 to temporarily show the Menu bar, so you need to wait or try the beta version .

  • Dual Core Support in Windows XP SP3

I have a Windows XP SP3 machine that appears as a single base in the Task Manager. The processor is an Intel (r) Core (TM) 2 Duo CPU E7400 2.80 GHz. I thought that this issue was supposed to have been solved with SP3, but I do not.

The computer was built with a clean Windows Home edition, then put installation upgraded to SP3.

I have searched the net and did all the steps recommended-

Make sure the box in msconfig is disabled

Check the BIOS for MaxCPUid settings

    etc.

However, nothing works, and it appears the version of Windows running is indeed one version of simple core based on the desription in the Device Manager.

How can question - I get this machine to accept two hearts?

Hmmm, if you have searched the web and tried everything and nothing works, then nothing probably will never.

A quick search of 20 seconds on my part raised the following article which describes a 'hot - fix"Microsoft for a very similar sound problem.  I can assume that you have already tried, but in case you don't have it, it's here:

"The number of physical hyperthreading-enabled processors or the number of physical multicore processors is incorrectly reported in Windows XP"

  • core i7 (3rd generation) can support Windows XP (sp2 or sp3)?

Mr President, my question is that, core i7 processor (3rd generation) will support window XP (sp2 or sp3)? Install Windows XP on a PC, which is activated with core i7 processor (3rd generation), without any difficulty? If this is not the case, is it possible to install Windows XP on core i7 (3rd generation) compatible processor PC, without using a pc virtual & window xp mode?

    Thank you

    Rohit

You will need to check with the manufacturer of the hardware you use, especially the card manufacturer mother but also all the addin cards and devices. If they have XP drivers then the answer is that your system must work with XP.

You already asked this question, but my answer is essentially the same thing as Richard G Harper in this thread...

  • Why doesn't Firefox support the Windows 7 taskbar properly.

Firefox does not work in static form of the Windows 7 taskbar button. When you close the main window of Firefox, the downloads window stays open. Because it is a Firefox window still open, you cannot start an another main Firefox window without first close the downloads window. It is against the expectations of the design of the Windows 7 task bar.

    This has happened

    Each time Firefox opened

    == I installed Firefox on Windows 7

Double clicking on the icon of Firefox on the desktop (or by using the start menu) will allow another "main" window of Firefox to open - even if the download window is still open.

This problem is fixed in the latest alpha of Firefox versions, so that the 'hand' last window is closed leave the application - even if windows as downloads are still active. (This will be fixed in Firefox 4.0, because updates minor Firefox only to solve problems of stability and security and not to introduce new behaviors)

  • Java is no longer listed or usable in Firefox on Windows 10

New questions. After the upgrade to Windows 10 Java is more listed as a plugin available, is not usable. Content is unable to use / access the plugin. I tried to uninstall and reinstall 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Java, just in case. How to restore the ability of Java for Firefox? It is the same for all versions of Firefox and my other computer that is running Windows 10 has the same problem. Thank you.

Hi, 64-bit versions of firefox on windows currently do support the version of the flash plugin. If you want to use java, please continue to use the regular 32 bit versions of firefox.

  • Problems on Firefox for Windows 10

    Computer details:
Technical preview generator Windows 10 build 10074
GPU drivers: 14,12 official latest drivers AMD (NOT of DRIVERS BETA WINDOWS)
    Firefox version: 38.0.1
    Build ID: 20150513174244

The problem is one that can be seen in the attached screenshot. I showed the finger every place in the bookmarks toolbar and especially where the icons disappear randomly. This also applies to most of the icons/images in the page. This happens especially when CTRL + TAB / ALT + TAB in Facebook, but as has happened in some other sites.

This happened in the same build of Windows with the previous (I think as 38.0.0) version of Firefox. Windows has been reinstalled and it kept happening. Tried to disable all add-ins and I tried to start Firefox in safe mode, nothing has helped at all.
Attached to the troubleshooting information in case this help.

Now, Firefox is UNUSABLE due to constant crashes and glitches of visualization, all part of the same program.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

    • Tools > Options > advanced > General > Browsing: "use hardware acceleration when available.

You will need to close and restart Firefox after enabling/disabling this setting.

  • Try to find a mozilla download site to download firefox for windows using a version of linux because my version of windows does not work.

There are several sites that offer downloads of Firefox.
    I don't trust anything but mozilla.org

But I can't find a download button on mozilla.

I use Linux because my firefox on Windows 7 no longer works and the default download seems to be a Linux version of firefox.

How can I download a version of windows?

Why Firefox stop working. I have download Tunein Radio - program - and it looked as if he was installing junkware.
I stopped the download but it seems to have already installed what is called the file opener. I uninstalled fire opener.

That may have caused the problem

Hello, you will find the download links for all supported systems and languages to https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

If you think that the problem on your system is caused by malware, it is probably advisable to run a full scan of your system with security tools like the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner, which are specialized in the adware and browser hijackers.
