Firefox, update version 28.1 to 28.0. How is that possible?

Browser seems to work ok. But never seen such a thing before.

Thanks for your response!

Roland

Firefox should have updated to Firefox 28.0 today so now you are on the correct version.

Unless you were on the beta channel you should already have been on Fx27.x

  • I tried to download the updated version and got large loads of AAM files that appear on the top of my Firefox browser. Why?

I recently changed my Chrome Firefox that I hope no more nothing to do with Google.  In any case, I hope that the change would allow me to download the version of Muse with the ease of change In-Browser.  I entered the browser search and connected to Adobe CC Adobe Muse 2014.  I was a little surprised to not see the icon of the Muse at the front and Center; Finally, I spotted and watched the intro video before hitting the download.  A continuous stream of aam files immediately began to flow along the stop of the browser. To start I am not familiar with the aam files, and I don't know why Firefox files on the top of the browser.  The new version of Muse is actually download?  After half an hour, on that I got suspicious, and click stop.  Any ideas what's happening?

I can't speak for the behavior of Firefox. I use it only rarely, and perhaps, the behavior you see depend on your configuration (i.e. plug-ins you have installed in Firefox). However, I can explain the installation process of Muse.

From version Adobe Muse CC 2014 Muse now uses the same process technology and installation installer as all other Adobe applications available as part of the creative cloud. When any creative cloud application is installed, the first step is installing the creative cloud desktop application (if it is not already installed and up to date). CC office manages the installation of the Adobe application as well as many other features of cloud (i.e. access to cloud storage, file synchronization, access policies, access to the community and the market, etc.). Adobe Application Manager (AAM) is a subcomponent of the CC desktop application and so the part of the installation of the Office of the CC.

This process is the even that you use the free creative cloud level, use it an a Creative Cloud application test, have a subscription to Creative Cloud App for just Muse or subscribed full creative cloud.

  • Firefox updated and deleted all my favorites. How to make a comeback?

The bookmarks menu is the same, but all have disappeared. Firefox has created another folder on my desktop, but it's all in the code, and I have no idea what is there or how to get back on this version.

Did you reset Firefox and create a new profile and don't have created Firefox and "Old data Firefox" folder on the desktop with the contents of the old profile?

If your bookmarks would not allow the new profile then check if there are backups JSON (.json or files compressed .jsonlz4) in the folder bookmarkbackups.

You should perhaps delete the places.sqlite file and restore a JSON backup in bookmarks (library) Manager.

  • Firefox browser Version 32 drew my attention to an update that installs a plug-in of horrible malware

As a mac user, I have Firefox browser version 32 (for MacBook) installed on my Macbook Pro at least a year. I get the updated browser each time when Mozilla warns me on new versions. Today, I was alerted for an update on my current version 32. As soon as I clicked for the installation of the update, I realized that my browser is redirected to the legitimate website of the Mozilla Foundation, however, the new update has a certain plugin malware. I tried three times, twice with my own and once during my session of remote with Apple OS agent assistance is supported. As a user, I don't get much time on the Mozilla site and moments after reaching this Web site, the URL is redirected to some "led... com ' ith a super long URL that hacks your browser type." He leaves several entries in the registry and stop access to any intended URL. Instead, it takes you whenever the malware wants to. Sometimes you see some programs 'App Magic' malware and other malware unknown websites yet easily misleading. Off no other choice, I finally had to clean my system and uninstalling firefox. I wait now Mozilla Firefox to view this problem, have solved it and warn me before that I can actually do. BTW, once I saw also a toll free no.. starting with 1-855... claiming to be team Support of Mozilla, who are aware of the problem and I should call for customer support. Out of my high doubts, I didn't trust that he therefore never had a note of it any further. Mozilla must identify the violation and warn users of Mac from Firefox to any breach of malware occurs due to potentially a updated version of dike.

If it was legitimate install www.mozilla.org or update in Firefox, so he has not come to Mozilla or Firefox. No version of Firefox for Windows, Linux and Mac OSX from www.mozilla.org comes with any form of viruses, adware, malware, toolbars, not packaged apps etc.

If your claim is true, it would be a first.

You mentioned leads, well it is a known adware company extensions toolbar or company or what you want to call them, although condiit.com seems to have changed to something else now.

  • I update my Firefox latest version 32.0, and now I can not upload anythink, can you help me

I think that last week, I update my Firefox latest version 32.0, and now I can not upload anythink, can you help me - in more detailed - when I try to download a file and save it to my pc it remains on 99%, write the time unknown and not donwload, that is even if I try to open and file - means 'open' clieck not records. I try with different brouzer and quote different and everythink work very well. Problem is only on firefox. I try and that "in the address bar, type about: config and press ENTER." The subject: config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
Click on I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about: config page. A list of parameters must appear
Filter the list by typing in the search bar at top. Enter scanWhenDone. Now you should find the preference "browser.download.scanWhenDone".
Double-click this preference to set the value to false. "
    But still a problem.

It's the recent9 b 32.0 and it has been fixed and will be in the build 32.0 then, probably the RC1 build 32.0 if normally such a fix would be a beta version as 32.0b10. The release is Tuesday next so little time. Type of topic: config location bar (address) and you can try to change the empty value of browser.safebrowsing.appRepURL in the meantime. If an empty value does not work then put in https://sb-ssl.google.com/safebrowsing/clientreport/download?key=%GOOGLE_API_KEY%

  • Updated Firefox to version 23 - several problems

    Hello.

It is my first post in this forum, even if I'm a long-time Firefox user. I'll take the chance and thanks for all the effort you put into providing the best browser to Mozilla and keep the web open.

Everything worked great until I allowed Firefox update to version 23 today.

I have multiple problems, maybe more that in any process to upgrade to this day, that's why I take my time to write this post and hopefully provide a feedback to do better in the future Firefox releases.

    1. in the previous version, I got all the plugins that have been blocked with the parameter 'plugins.click_to_play' set to true. At the present time, I am aware that it is possible to set this option individually for each plugin in firefox > extras > plugins, the problem is now I have to turn them all to "always ask", even if click_to_play is always true and in "subject: permissions", I always always "ask" activated. This makes no sense and it goes against the functionality of Firefox introduced not so long ago, click to play the plugins in each page.

2 - Youtube videos stopped working, they charge not at all and sometimes youtube report "an error has occurred." I tried with active plugins and click here to read, but nothing works. However, DailyMotion and Vimeo videos are loading very well so far.

3 - Facebook Messenger for Firefox stopped working too. I deleted and added to many times, login and logout of facebook, by following the steps to troubleshoot this https://support.mozilla.org/pt-PT/kb/how-does-facebook-messenger-firefox-work but nothing seems to do the job, the cat remains empty of zero it and buttons for the updates and friend requests do not appear yet.

I'm also a bit annoyed with the change in research, I usually kept two different search engines, an impressive bar and the other in the search bar, it has been very helpful. Now, when we change the motor in a bar, it's the same in the other, then why keep the search bar at all? Why not integrate in the awesome bar? This change is not sensible as well. Let's say I googled awesome bar and want to search DDG, I must change first and only then search, but then I have to come back once again, this is a very regrettable decision. If it is to make it easy to change the default search engine, this should be found in the settings.

Furthermore, I don't think that quite remove features of the browser is the best way to keep the part of the user for that matter, with various search engines could remain an option for those who want to, can say the same about the disabling of tabs, even if some of them should never be used by most people It does not mean that they do not serve. Configurability is always special Firefox, the possibility to make it * your * browser.

Even if I'm frustrated by these problems, please take this as constructive feedback. I always will support Firefox all the ways that I can!

BTW, I love the new logo design!

I was able to understand the problem with Youtube videos

"An error has occurred. Please, try again later"appears on every Youtube video since I've upgraded to Firefox 23 in two of my personal profiles, although many others such as DailyMotion or Vimeo worked well.

After you start in safe mode, starting to play Youtube videos and I found the problem was caused by HTTPS Everywhere extension (by EFF) https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere

So in Firefox 23, apparently Youtube can't play videos in a secure HTTPS connection.

For those who have the same problem, because it doesn't happen on Youtube and nothing else (as far as I know), there is no way to disable this add-on, simply go to its options in Firefox > Add-ons, search for Youtube, right click on the entry and select alternative to disable the connection on Youtube.

Regarding Facebook Messenger, its seems broken for many people, as you can see in the following positions

    https://support.Mozilla.org/PT-PT/questions/967502
    https://support.Mozilla.org/PT-PT/questions/959474

It is not something on my Firefox configuration, because it is broken on a newly created profile as well and others suffer from the same thing, if I can just sit and wait for a fix to be corrected, meanwhile I'm disable.

Click to play plugins is a work in progress on Firefox, so I hope it is addressed in the next version. Set to true in: config should require activation for them all, but it's not the case, since they are all still active in Firefox > Addons > Plugins. The solution is to require the activation individually for each plugin.

  • When Firefox updates their program, can I uninstall older versions?

When Firefox updated to a version more recent., can I get into my control panel and uninstall the older versions?

Hello, when there is an older version on the dashboard next to the version currently installed it is usually only one entry of rest that does not get removed correctly (the former firefox program will be not present on your hard drive any longer). If you choose to uninstall the old writing, it will probably remove the current version of your hard drive instead. If you so please make sure that you do NOT check to remove your personal data during the uninstallation. You must install the latest version of firefox from www.getfirefox.com new later if...
