    Hi Person1948,

You can try the K-Lite codec pack: http://download.cnet.com/K-Lite-Mega-Codec-Pack/3000-13632_4-10794603.html?tag=mncol

my windows vista Ultimate 64 player will not play any of my wma or mp3 files. said that I did not have the codex of right. but wma and wmv are windows. What's new?

    Hi rpwerner,

Please use the forum for Support of Vista,

This is a codec package from Microsoft you want to download to see if it will be useful.  Also, try to update your Windows Media Player and Windows Update to get the latest version of the codec required to play the type of media.

You can also use your favorite search engine to look for codec packs available on the web to help you read the content.

  • Windows Media Player will not play mp3 or mp4, but Windows and YouTube work OK

When I go to a media file (.mp3 or .mp4) and click on it, I get a message
Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file.

By clicking [help] and follow the signs, I see that my computer has two devices in the "Sound, video and game controllers" section, both have the status "this device works correctly.

I get Windows sounds normally (startup, etc.). Can I play a clip from YouTube and videos that I prepared myself with Camtasia.  However the same video will not play when I click the .mp4 and Windows selects the default Windows Media Player program.

    How can I fix it?

    Thank you, Robert.

    Hi Robert,

It looks like .mp4 files are not supported by Windows Media Player.

    Reference:

Information on the types of media files that supports Windows Media Player

Video MPEG-4 can be encoded and stored in an .asf file container by using the tools of Windows Media and Windows Media Encoder. You can then read these files with Windows Media Player. For more information about Microsoft and MPEG-4 support, visit the Microsoft Web site at the following address:

You can search your favorite engine and download and install the codec that is compatible with the operating system.

  • Firefox will not play SermonConnect mp3 files that have been uploaded to Amazon S3 server using S3 Organizer after 2014 7. Already downloaded the files OK.

Files uploaded to the Amazon S3 server are accessible via our Web site at littlecountrychurch.org. All multimedia files downloaded before January 7, 2014, be played properly on our media page. Files uploaded after January 7 refuses to play on the Firefox browser. To add to the confusion, other browsers Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer on Windows and Mac-play these files correctly. In addition, an older version of Firefox on an XP laptop plays files correctly. We even ran a test by downloading a working of the S3 server, re-uploaded the file file and Firefox would not read the freshly downloaded file, but he continued to play the same file previously downloaded without problem.

The problem is the content-type header sent to S3. The old MP3s are designated "audio/mpeg", which is perfect. Newcomers are designated "application/download", which does not work in Firefox native HTML5 audio player. (The inset on the screenshots is pasted from a screenshot of the Fiddler proxy).

On a normal web server, all .mp3 files usually served in the same folder have the same content type. Something seems different about Amazon storage, perhaps based on a difference in their environment "backstage."

  • Firefox will not play many videos, sounds and other Html5 applications but Youtube is fine.

No matter what are the options I change (I tried everything under subject: config), videos html5 play not (format not supported, etc wrong mime type.). On youtube, html5 player works fine.

    Examples of videos does not:

flow using the html5 and formats like gif player also like gifv to imgur.

My OS can all play, I installed Windows Media Player.

All my preferences in topic amovible.*: config have a default value, and I tried to change things - without success.

I also disabled all addons/plugins, tried another profile, tried the developer version of 64-bit. I had the same problem on my old computer (I did a clean install on a totally new computer and imported via MozBackUp settings). Firefox Safe mode will not help either.

http://detectmybrowser.com/ tells me that I can play ogg but not h264 or webm. https://www.YouTube.com/HTML5 told me that my firefox support everything that youtube needs.

Once again, on Youtube, everything works (right click on the clip not gives me the possibility "about the HTML5 player"), elsewhere (for as far as I saw) I get "not taken in charge or false mime type error format.

I use Firefox on Windows 10, but also known 40 the problem under Windows 7 and Firefox 3 x

In addition, my plugin-container crashes whenever I close Firefox, I tried to clear the cache/history/cookies. No idea if this is related to the question of the html5.

So, any ideas I can try to do html5 video finally work? It is very solutions use another browser every time for anything associated with Html5.

    Holy f * ing sh * t!

In fact, I managed to solve the problem!

All I had to do was to start Firefox using administrator rights. So simple, yet I didn't on this subject! Why have I never tried this before? I managed to solve a lot of problems like this but never thought about Firefox could also be linked to it.

In any case, thanks to all who responded, as well as all those who had to read all my rants in this thread!

Solution: Launch your Firefox with administrator rights

  • Firefox will not play video WebM encoded by Sorenson Squeeze Pro 8

A short video encoded in WebM using Sorenson Squeeze Pro 8.0.48. Chrome and Opera play HTML5 webm video with a problem. Firefox 10.0.1 and 11 just display a dimmed window and 'X' in the middle and not load or play anything. Sorenson is a commercially proven product such as confirmed by Chrome and Opera, so what gives with Firefox?

We just finished our stable webm with Episode Pro of Telestream 6.2.1.1, and unsurprisingly, the same results as Sorenson Squeeze Pro 8.

Chrome, Opera and Safari browsers play HTML5 webm video as expected.

Firefox rigorously applies the State Server .htaccess configuration more precisely the Mime Types, then it will/does not work.

  • Firefox will not play video stream live. A message appears as pending for the video. How can I fix it?

Sites Web I went wouldn't play the broadcasts. A message is pending for the video. I tried different suggestions as disabling Internet explorer 8 and by disabling some ad - ons.

    This has happened

    Each time Firefox opened

== the first time I tried

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of your modules is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Modules > themes).
See the extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common troubleshooting Firefox problems and troubleshooting questions with plugins like Flash or Java to solve common Firefox problems

If this does not work in safe mode and then disable all your extensions and then try to find out who is causing by allowing both the problem reappears.
You can use 'Disable all add-ons' on the start safe mode window.
You will need to close and restart Firefox after each change through "file > exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit")

  • Firefox will not play video html5 on Amazon Prime.

I had the first amazon. I'm going to play a video. It asks me to install Flash despite the fact Firefox support encrypted html5 video.

    If it's supposed to happen?

The site asking me to activate Silverlight.

No idea why Amazon's HTML5 player does not support Firefox, but cela seems to be the case at the moment according to this article:

    http://www.Amazon.com/GP/AW/help/ID=201422810

The HTML5 player is available on the following browsers:

    • Chrome (M42 version or newer)
    • Internet Explorer (version 11 or newer)
    • Microsoft on Windows 10 edge
    • Opera (version 31 or more recent)
  • Firefox will not play flash player even if the latest version is installed

I can't play videos (e.g. on the BBC website) - I continue to be invited to install Flash. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Flash several times but to no avail. The "always enable" is selected in the addons page. Also the old version of shockwave is still showing on the list and I can't remove it.

Finally solved the problem by seeking NPSWF32DLL and Delete it!

  • I burned an mp3 disc, but it will not play mp3 in my stereo. What I've done wrong?

I've burned an mp3 disc but won't play in my car stereo that is compatible with the mp3.  I can play music from my computer.

    Hi JaronR,

    1. what type of program you are using to burn CDs of music?

If it is Windows Media Player, then it is possible that this media player is set to burn MP3 CD instead of CD audio (most basic stand-alone CD players can only play audio CD).

Before burning a new CD of music, click on right arrow under the button burn up and make sure Audio CD is checked.

For more information, see the link:

WAV files will not play in Firefox 22. Previous versions of Firefox are very good. Another sound is fine. I have the latest mac OS X. QuickTime is required to play wav files. I have the latest version of it.

Is there any solution for this?

Are there other plugins that I can install that will play wav files?
