Firefox will not start on Mac 10.10.4

Every time I try and open Firefox sometimes just with a crash report - see below. I tried to uninstall Firefox, reinstall Firefox, displacement of the profile folder and using Terminal to get to the Profile Manager (even that crashes once I've selected all the options "Create a profile", 'Rename Profile' and 'Remove profile').

  • Why firefox will not start after update?

Update the alert message. Did a hard stop. Rebooted computer and Firefox will not open.

Maybe during the update some files were corrupted, try a clean reinstall:

Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

Hi, Frank. What is the version of the App Store?

You probably need to reinstall. Your download should always be available in the Mac App Store under "purchases".

Apple has had problems with security certificate expired affecting all applications downloaded from the Mac App Store. Here's a solution that worked. Give it a try by following each step:

I had the same problem on the Mavericks and your suggestion worked for me.  FYI, I deleted the items, empty trash, disconnected from the App Store, restarted the computer, signed in to the App Store, then downloaded items.  I use OS x 10.9.5 and 11 elements.  Hope this helps!

  • After the most recent upgrade, Firefox will not start

I've just updated Firefox to the latest version. Firefox does not start now. I get no error message. I navigated to the Mozilla Firefox folder and tried to run to that from this site and that doesn't work anymore.
    Thank you

I backed up my profile tried to run again without success. It wouldn't create a new profile.
I completely uninstalled and deleted all the files associated with it. Then clean the registry. Reinstalled and now it works fine.
Not sure what happened, but it works now.
    Thank you

  • Updated Firefox to 8.0 but now Firefox will not start? Ideas?

8.0 - but Firefox downloaded last night he hung "checking addons for compatibility" come far as Firefox does not start or if she start crashes immediately. Have made eligible by Mcaffee firewall. removed re downloaded version 7.0, version 8.0 new and 4.0 None of these work - add seem to hang up, checking the Add-ons. Google Chrome works fine, but how do I get firefox to work - ideas?

  • 32 Firefox will not start after a download.

On windows XP sp3. Chrome and Iexplorer 8 will take place. Firefox will launch. Cannot run firefox.exe Pei either.

You can start Firefox in Safe Mode by holding down the shift/Options button?

Do a clean reinstall and delete the program folder before Firefox to (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.

If possible to uninstall your current version of Firefox to clean the Windows registry and settings in the security software.

    • Do NOT remove the "personal data" when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data such as bookmarks and passwords including data profiles created by other versions of Firefox.

Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

    • (32-bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    • (Windows 64 bit) "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a uninstall and (re) install, but do NOT delete personal data when you uninstall Firefox which removes all Firefox profile folders and you lose your data.

If you keep problems also create a new profile.

  • After downloading and installing an update of safety about an hour ago, firefox will not start

The computer started normally, but after clicking on the firefox icon, the program is not started. My computer is using Windows XP Service Pack 3.

  • Firefox will not start even after uninstal and reinstal

I was using Firefox normally. I shut it off for awhile then I would never open again. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it did not fix the problem. I deleted the program files and profile records and reinstalled again... same thing. When I run it, the rotation slider works for awhile then goes back to the arrow shape. I have no more details to give.

Thanks to Cor - el, that put me in the right direction. My problem wasn't with any security system, but with software that has been installed in my computer without my consent. I found it through all the applications in the window settings and programs. The culprit is "Interenet optimizer" (named exactly like this). After uninstalling this guy, my Firefox started without any glitch.
