Firefox won't open, not even in safe mode!

Everything worked Friday (when I finally used Firefox) but this morning when I turned on my computer, Firefox will not work. I tried clicking on the toolbar button and the link in the start menu, nor work. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, does not help. It gives me a little icon running, but disappears quickly without having to open Firefox at all. Is someone can you please help me understand why I can't get Firefox to open? Internet Explorer works fine, so all I can imagine is that an update has occurred during shutdown Friday.

Hello

Please try to use our function of refreshment.

Refresh (called "Reset" in older versions of Firefox) can solve a lot of problems in restaurant Firefox as his default factory while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.

Note: When you use this feature, you will lose all the extensions, toolbar customizations, and certain preferences. See article Firefox Refresh - reset modules and parameters for more information.

Refresh for Firefox:

  1. Open the troubleshooting information page using one of the following methods:

    • Click the menu button

      click Help

and select troubleshooting information. Should open a new tab containing your troubleshooting information.

    • If you are unable to access the Help menu, type Subject: support in your address bar to bring up the troubleshooting information page.
  2. At the top right of the page, you should see a button that says 'Refresh Firefox' ('reset Firefox' in older versions of Firefox). Click on it.
  3. Firefox closes. Once the update process is complete, Firefox will display a window with the imported information.
  4. Click Finish and reopen Firefox.

This corrects the problem? Please report to us!

Thank you.

  • I changed the settings of Java and now Firefox plant she opens up, even in safe mode; How can I fix?

I tried to change the settings to access the comments section of Slate.com. Good or bad, I changed a setting Java-1 to 2. The setting spoke in: config and I think it was some sort of max. As I can't open anything, I'm not sure.

When I made the change, firefox crashed immediately, whenever I tried to reopen, even in safe mode, it hangs again immediately and will not reopen.

    Hi pternagy,
    Sorry, you have problems.

For any future reference. Those of us who mess directly with: config soon find out how to get errors and it is wise to backup. Occasionally backup of your entire profile for example can be useful and would probably give you a quick solution of the copy on the file from the backup.

OK on the topic to try to get Firefox back as it was:
Find your profile and the prefs.js file and rename that. (The renamed file is a potentially useful backup.) Firefox is then forced to regenerate the file and will reset your default preferences. You can then re open and use Firefox. Then, try to return to normal.

Try to manually change the file prefs.js is normally a bad idea. However, if this is a one-time change prefs it would be possible to directly edit the prefs.js file (while Firefox is closed) to get everything back to how it was before. You have the file renamed to work with. Probably best to test this in a new additional profile so only break you test additional essential Firefox profiles profiles works do not.

Please post back with how you go and if you need additional assistance.

  • There will be a fix for Firefox 8 crash at startup, even in safe mode?

I always use Win XP. Yesterday, when I was invited in FF7 to upgrade to FF8, I did. Now I can not access FF at all, because it crashes at the start even in safe mode (when I click on the logo of FF & hold down the SHIFT key). There will be a solution for this? Or I have to go back to FF7, which crashed only periodically? If I need to go back, where can I access a download? I am providing the accident four last ID, starting with the most recent. I can provide more if necessary.

using roboform? If so check if you have not the version 7.6.2 or later?
Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.

See "basic troubleshooting: a new profile:

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "tools > Modules > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If this new profile works then you can transfer files from the old profile to the new profile, but make sure not to copy corrupted files.

If the HP recovery process does not work, it seems to be a hardware problem.

And now that you mention have a blue screen.

If it was a software problem, the process of HP recovery to reinstall the operating system should fix (take it back in new condition).

And this new condition would exclude any incorrect hardware drivers may have installed the original problem.

    Have you tried HP support?

    http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/contact-HP/contact.html

    Or assistance HP Forums:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/

    See you soon.

    Edit:

HP recovery process, you get the possibility of a destructive or non-destructive restore. If you use non-destructive recovery option, often have the same problems continue.

The problem continues when you use destructive recovery too.

  • I uninstalled and reinstalled and Firefox for windows 7 does not open. There is no error message - it just does not, even in safe mode. What should I do?

My computer is set to the automatic update in Windows 7 Home Premium and Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010. I am also running Norton 360. There was a major update for the office on 10-12-14, which seems to be at the start of my problems. This month, whenever my updates caused a restart, Mozilla has failed to open. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times, and it lasted only a day or two before it crashes again. This last time it is still not open. All instructions to solve problems appear to be based on the idea that the program is open and just questions. I can't even open it in Mode without failure.

I tried to reinstall, and it says it will launch automatically when the installation is complete, but it does not work. As Norton scan every download before it works, I am not sure if this is the problem since I never get the window that indicates the setup step by step for Firefox.

    What should I do?

Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. A clean reinstall is not the same as a regular resettlement performed using built-in installer. Please follow these steps:

Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from mozilla.org office (or choose the download for your operating system and language on this page) and save the file to install it on your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (or open the Firefox menu

      Click the close button

      ).

    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

More information on the resettlement of Firefox can be found here.

WARNING: Do not use an uninstaller to third parties as part of this process. This could permanently delete your Firefox profile data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and passwords saved. They can be retrieved easily unless they have been backed up on an external device! See back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox.

Please report to say if this helped you!

    Thank you.

  • Firefox crashes until he could start up, can not even in safe mode.

    Hello
Firefox has automatically downloaded and installed an update this morning and now it won't start at all. I tried to boot in SafeMode (shift-click to start), but I can not even there. It's just a crash after crash after crash and I am fast losing patience.

After more digging, I found that update my version of RoboForm was the difficulty. At least until now... Let's see how long it lasts!

If you use RoboForm that you can't, try RoboForm of IE Update, then try again.

  • Firefox opens not except in safe mode

When I clicked to open Firefox a few days ago, a small window opens with this message:

A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script ends.

    Script: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsExtensionManager.js:623

I found the solution page about this to Firefox and followed the instructions - closed FF, open in Mode safe, is go to Add - ons and changed my theme to the default.

Then I closed FF and it has reopened.

    The solution worked. (yay)

Later, however, I had the same problem when I tried to open Firefox again.

I went through the steps of opening Safe Mode but my theme was already by default, so I changed to another and then changed back to the value default, FF closed and then reopened.

When I had the same problem, once again, I went through the above step and then uninstalled all the themes, but the default value. (Or so I thought).

The next time I tried to open FF, the same ole error message came. I did the fix mode safe, FF has closed and then reopened.

    However, another message came:

     FLAGFOX VERSION: null (missing IPDB!)

    Ugh.

There was a link to click on but before I could click on it, another window open with this old error:

A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script ends.

    Script: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsExtensionManager.js:623

So, I could not click on the link for Flagfox error because I had to close the 2 windows to go to FF Safe-Mode to get rid of the error Add-ons/themes.

After closing then opening again FF, it opens but crashes. At one point, I had dinner and then came back, and he was still suspended. So, I opened the end of task task manager in FF to close.

A few weeks ago, I had installed Chrome. Since I saw 'ChromeWindow' in the error of Flagfox, I thought maybe Chrome was to ruin FF so I uninstalled Chrome, turned off and turned back on my computer.

Then I tried to open FF, only to have these two errors pop up again.

BTW, after the opening of the FF mode safe (for the moment zillionth), I went to "themes" and they were all there - I thought I had uninstalled all except the default value, but they were all there.

The furthest (more?) I've come is to be able to click on the link of FlagFox open FF, but then this happens:

Flagfox.servehttp.com takes too long to respond

and FF is suspended... and hangs...

    I'm so frustrated!

So I can open only FF mode without failure.

I came here on the forum and connected, etc. to post this message, but none of the boxes issue-details were visible, so I am currently using Opera.

I'd appreciate any help. Please keep in mind that I'm not 12 years old so I don't know much about computers, lol. In other words, please answer with simple and easy words then I'll understand.

    Thank you!

By chance you have Personas Plus installed, if you do so in safe mode you can access the Add-ons Manager and either disable or uninstall, that should solve your problems.

The error messages indicate that the add-on FlagFox is the cause of the problems, but Personas Plus version 1.6 is currently havoc with Add-ons. Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

  • Suddenly, Firefox won't save past except in safe mode, also when I click on the icon to download (next to the home button) nothing happens.

As the title suggests, for some reason any I can no longer save password unless I'm in safe mode. Same time he began to arrive, the download next to the home button icon became useless. Clicking on it does nothing.

I tried to reset Firefox, I disabled add ons (it is not them that is the cause), I reinstalled Firefox, I created a new profile, I even transferred data between the profiles. Nothing seems to fix. I don't know what else to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I found the solution! By turning fixed hardware acceleration and turn it on again!

  • Since the update of FF 8/9, many Web sites does not, even in safe mode. Any idea what the problem might be?

All sites worked fine before v8.0 and 9.0. But now many sites (for example, newegg.com & baltimoresun.com) won't load. I hit the button reload several times before that something appears on the screen at all. I tried safe mode - no help. I disabled javascript, which helped some, but does not cure the problem, since even with him off a few sites still never finish loading. I've also disabled IPv6 and DNS Prefetching and emptied the cache, all to nothing does not. He seems to graphics that are not loading. Someone has an idea what is the question? I swear that I'm ready to switch to Chrome or Solaris, if I can't solve this problem. It's incredibly frustrating.

Well, the problem was caused by the upgrade to v8.0 corrupt something in my profile. Create a new profile loading problem disappear, this is the fix for this particular problem. Significant pain for sure, since the creation of a profile "duplicate" isn't a very elegant process in FF.

WARNING: If you try this fix, be sure to first make a backup of your current profile. (When I deleted my original profile in the Profile Manager, it also - incredibly - deleted the files that I had copied to my new profile.) Any thoughts on that, dev team?)
