Firefox won't update
Hello
I'm currently under Firefox 8.0. When I go to "About Firefox", Firefox checks the updates and then displays "Firefox is updated" even if the current version is version 9.0.1.
How to update? I know that I can download the installer myself, but I would like to know why Firefox does not by itself.
For your information, Thunderbird updated successfully to version 9.0.1. And Firefox is configured to automatically check for updates.
Thank you!
Well, too bad. I tried to maybe the 10th time and it worked.
I guess the update takes a while to be available or the whole process is maybe a bit capricious...
So bad I can't find a way to remove my entire post...

Page updated Firefox won't go away!
Start page is set to empty. Home page is nothing. Yet whenever I open Firefox, I get the stupid message "Hooray your Firefox is updated!" as well as the header asking you if I'm going to help Mozilla improve monitoring my browsing, I ALWAYS click on no. I cleared the cache a zillion times, and that's all just annoying! Someone else knows this or have any ideas?

Firefox won't save bookmarks, passwords or preferences. He also won't save Favorites and imported settings of Safari. I tried the suggestions of help, but nothing seems to work. All the settings seem to be correct. I reloaded the software several times. When I allow Firefox import settings of Safari, it takes more than 40 minutes and then loses everything when I restart Firefox. I tried to start Firefox in safe mode, but it does not help.
I use Mac OS on a MacBook Pro 17 "2011 start 10.6.8. Everything else on the computer seems to work very well.

The problems are gone now. However, I'll never know exactly what that caused them. When I restarted the computer in safe mode problems continue. But when I tried to restart my computer does not recognize the hard drive in safe mode or in normal mode.
It is possible that the Firefox problems were caused by a faulty hard drive.
I was able to rebuild the directory with Disk Warrior and transfer my files, but the disk would not boot. Fortunately, I had a spare hard drive. I installed and reloaded all my software and data from scratch. I also downloaded the latest version of Firefox. Firefox works fine now.
Thanks for all your suggestions. They may not have fixed this particular problem, but I learned a few new tricks from you to solve other problems.

Firefox won't open a new tab on my browser - the option is there, but when I press nothing happens? I have checked all of my options, but couldn't find anything wrong?
Hello, it seems that you run a very outdated version of firefox & old plugins - this is a serious security risk, because there have been dozens of corrected critical vulnerabilities from firefox 3.6 was released (it was more than two years ago).
You must do the following as soon as possible:
- Download and install the latest version of firefox from getfirefox.com
- Check your plugins to https://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/ & update all those which are obsolete
- You can also remove all the toolbars you have installed, because they can cause problems. in firefox, go to tools > addons > extensions and uninstall Yahoo! toolbar, motor driven, Radio TV 2.1 Community Toolbar and "Ask Toolbar". then you can launch the searchreset extension to restore the search parameters which leads crushed...
- do a full scan of your system with your security software
-
All of my toolbars disappeared. I can not download toolbars. I tried the system restore, and it does not work.
This has happened

== I downloaded an update for windows
I can see the menu bar, the toolbars I've installed before are not like the norton toolbar and the points my toolbar. Firefox won't let me download again due to errors. I have updated java and the problem persists.

Firefox won't let me use Hola! RAM as an Add on more. Why? I want it.
I used the Hola! Unblocker for ever to sites like Netflix, MTV, NBC, ABC, Hulu, basically any network American which is not broadcast its content to the Canada and it was great. Now all of a sudden Hola! went and every time I try and install, Firefox won't let me.
Got the problem solved, just simply never installed a missing component, I guess. I went to the main Web page"https://hola.org/"and clicked on the Firefox icon under the big blue icon "Get Hola, it's free!". He invited a couple of small downloads, and they were installed correctly. Just watched a show of the Australia, that I couldn't access before.

After each attempt to update and restart, Firefox will never update to the new version. I'm still at version 34.0.5.
Hello!
Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.
- Download the latest version of Firefox from mozilla.org office (or choose the download for your operating system and language on this page) and save the file to install it on your computer.
- Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (or open the Firefox menu
Click the close button
).
- Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
- Windows:
- C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
- C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
- Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
- Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
- Windows:
- Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
- Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
- Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

Although Firefox 37.0 was published Tuesday, the number of automatic updates is limited so that Mozilla can look for any major problem among early adopters. If you hurry, you can download the full installer instead of waiting for the upgrade (scroll down for your language):

Firefox does not update in page of google finance
When I go to my favorites, firefox is not updated page of google finance, 1 week now works OK in Chrome. Tried resetting, (lost my scapbook, despite the backup info) fact Malwarebytes search Kaspersky, even system restore.
In Firefox, it is Ctrl + F5 to bypass the cache.
You can try the following steps in case of problems with web pages:
You can reload webpages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.
- Hold down the SHIFT key and click the Reload button
- Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
- Press 'Command + shift + R' (Mac)
Clear the cache and delete cookies only from Web sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
- Firefox/tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.
'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:
- Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: "show the Cookies".
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.
- Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
- Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

29.0.1 Firefox won't open links that require a new tab to be opened.
29.0.1 Firefox won't open links that require a new tab to be opened.
What type of links are those?
As far as I KNOW, there is HTML code specific opening in a new tab, as it is to open a new window. Please enlighten me if this is something new to HTML5 that I haven't read.
Now, Firefox has a preference in Options > tabs to open new windows in a new tab instead - you have this pref checked?

When Firefox is automatically updated to 29, he deleted my yahoo toolbar and I cannot reinstall it. I go through the motions of the installation of the toolbar, and when I restart Firefox, the toolbar is there for a split second and then is removed from the display. I have since withdrawn from the Firefox's automatic update feature and update only if I deem it necessary and non-destructive. In the past, your software has also removed the Add on Social Fixer. I am aware that Facebook likes to not Fixer Social. Mozilla should remain neutral. You shouldn't Facebook dirty work for them. I can do without Facebook and I can also do it without Firefox.
