Firmware Apple 7.7.7 airport broke my Wan

I updated my network routers (Time Capsule connected to the internet with an Extender Airport Extreme and Airport Express) 7.7.7 and 7.6.7 respectively. Once I did, the Airport Express can only be seen by the network on the Airport utility, but shows a green light on the front. I tried to reset and set up after resetting to default values. Nothing works. At one point, he shows the Express before the Capsule of time between it and the broadband. Help?

I would say from the beginning. Let's get the Time Capsule (TC) return "upwards and being run." and then add your AirPort Express base stations to expand the range of Wi - Fi of the TC.

To begin with, allow to perform a "full power recycle" of all your network equipment. Don't forget to reset 'default' as it is called by the link provided. Once completed, exit Express base stations turned off.

Then use AirPort Utility to set up and configure your TC as required. Ensure that all of your network clients can access Internet from the TC. If successful, bring together all Express base stations in the same room as the TC. Yet once, using AirPort Utility, configure (one-at-a-time) each base station Express to extend (via wireless), the TC.

Once verified that each base station Express can extend successfully the TC's wireless, move Express base stations to the desired location.

Audio reading of the Mac to stereo via Airport express has 2 second delay. If I replace the airport express to Apple TV and connect optical to HiFi audio link ATV still do 2 seconds?

    Welcome to the Apple community.

I have no such delay when I play audio via an Airport Express station. You must determine if the problem is with your network or device that you have connected to the AirPort Express Terminal. I don't know what other hardware you have for you for you help in this task.

  • Apple TV remote control glass broke when dropped

Recently, my husband bought our second Apple TV, an upgrade of the first edition, we have purchased four years ago. We are customers of long-time Apple and have always possessed several Apple products. We both like the updates to the new Apple TV with the exception of the remote control. There are a few things we don't like about the design. First, our remote fell of the couch on a ceramic tile floor and broken glass. Accidents happen, and I dare say that it is going to be a lot of unhappy customers when they abandon their distance and it crashes. I will say that if the remote was dropped on the carpet he probably have come out unscathed. The remote control fell to the back of the sofa at a height of about three feet. I think that the remote control must be able to survive a fall like that or maybe Apple could consider designing a case or neoprene as the channel to the remote control. The other complaints we have are things that we have learned to adapt to. Remote ginning glass is well issue and because Apple products are on the pricey side (I had to replace a laptop charge cord twice - $80 a pop - compliments of our puppy) we have not yet checked the cost of replacement.

Yes. It is a delicate user in my opinion not the real world tested. There are other posts on the topic, and I saw the new cases that occurred just as we have for our other handheld devices. I think Siri remotes are also about $80...

I will also mention that the old Apple TV remotes work with the new ATV as well - except Siri. In fact, I use remote money or my universal remote control harmony more than the included remote control of Siri (I can't find Siri on tvOS it useful - still).

  • Of the EA6300 firmware auto update during installation, no random to WAN WAN gigabit drops

Really, I just want the previous firmware, it will not return to the previous firmware, even if she has detected a version more recent and downloaded/installed. Possible problem during this update I want to redo, but not possibility because no prior firmware exists.

Leads me to believe there is something in the previous firmware you guys want that we know or have once again.

    Serious security loophole eventually.

The ultimate question is random disconnects Arris 822 g at the EA6300,.

Don't blame the Arris it worked and maintaines on other EA devices connection. I don't appreciate finger that help professionals tend to blame everything other than your device, then try not to do.

  • Airport Extreme in brick after update firmware 7.7.7

Error while trying to update the Airport Extreme (model A1521) firmware to version 7.7.7. After clicking on "Refresh" for the EPA in the utility AirPort app on my MBP, it seemed like it was downloading and then restart, but then the "error during firmware update" message popped up.

Then he disappeared from the AirPort Utility app. check the physical EPA, he got a quick Orange flashing light on.

Perform a reset by mode on "soft" apple support No change in status in the AirPort or LED utility.

Perform a "hard" reset No change.

Perform a reset "factory". Solid green LED for 1 second, off for 1 second, then fixed Orange LED for 5 to 10 seconds, then orange flashing LED forever.

Removed all connections to the EPAS, repeated above steps with identical results.

Tried to plug the cable to all ports, a both MBP, then in a port to a different router. No connection.

Base from the bottom of the EPA to inspect the connection with the ohmmeter removed rubber physical reset button. Button contacts are open when not depressed, short circuit when pressed.

EPA appears at all in the AirPort Utility (not in "Other WiFi devices" or the other).

Pushing the reset button on the EPA has no effect, no matter how much time or when it is pushed.

Once the power cord is removed and inserted, the indications are always the same, no matter what I do with the reset button. Green LED for 1 second, off for 1 second, Orange fixed for 5 to 10 seconds, then orange blinking forever.

Interaction ONLY with the device, which had until this point was working perfectly for years, has been through the AirPort Utility software. Physical interaction occurred after that the update of the firmware he bricked. Simply, I do not understand how a botched firmware update might brick the MONKEY. The default firmware must always be able to be loaded with the reset sequence.

    Help, please.

You should not open it... Apple may have been told by replacing.

Firmware updates are always dangerous... the airport less then most of the routers.

However very rarely something can go wrong and the firmware written correctly to the ROM. This will leave the router in a State of broken forever. You need to replace unfortunately.

He got a quick Orange flashing light on.

Restore mode flashing quickly means that it is in...

Perform a reset "factory". Solid green LED for 1 second, off for 1 second, then fixed Orange LED for 5 to 10 seconds, then orange flashing LED forever.

It flashes quickly or slowly forever?

The ethernet light when you plug the ethernet cable?

As far as I know, there is no firmware emergency repair method at airports... Apple has every confidence their sequence of upgrade to work, even when the firmware is delivered more wireless... always a big risk CF ethernet.

  • I want to use a Terminal Airport Express to extend network provided by my Fios router/modem without going through another airport base. Is there a way to do this? I understand that Apple does not support this, but surely there must be a way to do this.

Can someone tell me how to set up an Airport Express Terminal to expand Network provided by my Fios router/modem without going through an airport as a base? I understand that apple does not support this use, but my applecare Advisor said it's possible. Thank you!

Unfortunately, your AppleCare Advisor is wrong if he or she has told you that an AirPort Express to extend wireless signal of a Fios router/modem.

Function of "Extend a wireless network" Apple is an exclusive feature that was designed by Apple engineers to extend the signal from another wireless only router from Apple. Thus, the AirPort Express... or any other router Apple besides... would not be able to extend wireless a Fios network.

SO... you have the possibility to locate the Airport Express where it is needed... And... Connect it to the Fios router/modem with a permanent, wired Ethernet cable connection, then the AirPort Express can 'extend' in this way.

Or... If you are ready to add a second AirPort Express, connect the first near Fios modem/router with an Ethernet cable, then the second Airport Express could extend the signal first Express wireless.

Another way to say the same thing, is that if you want an Apple AirPort router to extend wireless network... then you need two Apple routers to achieve this goal.

  • HP Photosmart C4795 with Apple Airport Extreme Wireless router - cable PC problem

    Hello

I searched, but I can't quite find an exact match for my problem.

I have a new HP desktop computer running Windows 7, and I attach it to my wireless router which is an Apple Airport Extreme. I have attached my HP C4795 printer to the USB port on the * router *. In theory, the USB key should pass through, so that the office will think it's a printer "connected", while also allowing us to print remotely from our laptops (via the router).

Unfortunately, while portable computers can print wireless very well, the * office * Guard 'lose' the printer, thinking that it is in offline mode. Even when it shows 'online' (after my relocation via "Add a printer"), still error-out print jobs.

Can someone help me understand how this works? The printer works fine, btw, if I disconnect the USB cable between the router and plug directly to the PC, if it isn't something directly with the printer or the desktop, but rather the * combination * of running through the Apple Airport Extreme router.

    Thank you

    Terry

    Thank you, once again, Jim.

I think I have stumbled on the solution. I did a reading online on Apple application 'Hello', and how he felt necessary for Apple devices, like the airport, knit with device sharing. I forgot that the installation of the airport disk had said something Hello installation, but I discovered on my Wired HP Win 7 PC menu programs, called 'Hello Printer Utility' or something, and I launched it, selected the C4795 in the dialog box, and all seems to be put in place (i.e. the printer suddenly showed as 'online' and I could print from my desktop wired as well as wireless laptop).

    Success!

Thanks for all your help on this. Now, all I need is to get my WD My Book external/sharing the hard drive to work as well! Unfortunately, I do not see here a "Hello Hard Disk Utility", but I feel somehow that morning will be the answer. I just understand it.

    Thank you

  • express problem airport works as a wired wifi Extender

I have TW cable for internet in bridge mode and not as a DHCP server. This is directly related to the port WAN to a time capsule extreme Airport (1-2 years). The time capsule has a link to 16 port 10/100 netgear switch to one of the LAN ports. About 3 weeks ago, I added 2 new Airport Express to expand the wifi of my very large House. I ran the hard lines to the Airport Express as well. Each express is set to bridge mode and just to extend the wifi network. The extreme time capsule is the DHCP server. Everything works fine as long as the couple declares itself to the extreme to the wifi, but this does not solve my problems of scope and speed on the other side of the House that expresses it is installed to cover.

Problem: When it expresses the airport is not connected I get a ping void 5ms from a computer on the local network to express it and extreme. Once I Plug one of them in the cable system my time to ping for all devices are very erratic. From time to time they are in the range 1-10ms, but more often they are in the range of 1-2 seconds and exhale. Once, I disconnect or hard of the line time to ping back to normal within 5 seconds.

Troubleshooting attempted so far: even once, I connected one or the other of expresses it to the hard line the problem occurs. Disconnect it and connect the other the same thing. Connect them directly to the Airport extreme still same thing. Connect the express directly to a PC and run ping test, void 1ms response times and no change for the rest of the devices. Ethernet connected to the WAN port of expresses it instead of the LAN port same question. Repunched and re made the end of the cable used to one of them, same problem. Called Apple and they told me it should work, and provided with additional troubleshooting.

Firmware on all the devices have been updated about 3 weeks after I got them stable on wifi. Unfortunately I do not have the written down version, but they are all on the same version now. All devices have a green light on them when just using wifi to talk to the extreme. When wired in airport utility devices drop the GUI are available intermittently and back.

Whats to test I can think of to the left: replace the extreme airport time capsule. Replace expresses it. Wipe off the network completely and start over from scratch with a factory reset complete.

Any help would be appreciated, I am amazed as to why it does not work.

Each express is set to bridge mode and just to extend the wifi network.

And this... extend the WiFi network... is the problem. When the Express is configured to "extend a wireless network", it waits a connection without wire of the main router. When an Ethernet signal is applied, this translates a huge feedback loop blocking, network.

Start over and do a hard reset on each of the AirPort Express devices

Then for the Setup, use a short piece of spare Ethernet cable... any length will do... and plug it between a LAN port <>- on AirPort Extreme on the "O" WAN port on the AirPort Express Terminal

Don't forget to make the Ethernet connection before you try to implement the Express. In this way, the "Wizard" will pick up the Ethernet connection and apply the correct settings for the Express installation.

Use "Wizard" Apple's Installation in AirPort Utility to configure things. When you do so, you will notice that the final configuration screen will indicate that the AirPort Express is set up to "extend with Ethernet', who must confirm that the correct settings apply to the Express.

The first Express is now properly configured. It turned off and move it to the remote location where it is needed. If your Ethernet cables and the Ethernet switch works correctly, so too the Express will work properly.

Implement the second Express exactly the same way as the first, except him give a different device... as Express2 name, for example... to keep things straight.

  • Network error extend w / Airport Express (7.6.7)

I see on various discussion forums that there is a problem with the firmware 7.6.7 for Airport Express, it generates an error when you try to select the device to extend a network rather than join it. Currently mine is set up for these, and I can't change it to extend the network instead. Again, forums, I have read it seems to be a bug in the firmware 7.6.7.

I tried downgrading the firmware to one of older versions who apparently always worked to expand a network (7.6.1 and 7.6.3) but they cannot be installed on my device as it comes with 7.6.7. Any advice? Anyone else see this problem?

The Airport Express will be only "extend" a wireless network is provided by another Apple AirPort router. We will make sure that your 'main' router is an Apple product and confirm on what model of airport number you may have.

  • About light amber extreme airport

    Hello

Last night out of nowhere my AirPort Extreme which I had for about a year and a half had the blinking yellow light. I was able to reset, but I'm curious as to what may cause this?

6.3.6 on a Mac under v10.11.5 airPort utility

And running the utility AirPort 6.3.2 on a Mac v10.9.5 (no update available)

What is the different versions of the cause AirPort Utility?

My AE is connected to a modem XFinity...

    Thanks in advance!

    Carolyn

Yesterday, Apple released updates firmware for routers from the airport. The yellow light flashes when an update is available.

Have you updated your AirPort Extreme Version 7.7.7? If this is not the case, the flashing yellow light will remind you again in another day or two.

Open AirPort Utility. If you see a button update, click it.

  • Exrteme AC WAN slow airport

    Hello

    I encountered the following problem:

If I test my internet connection directly with PPOE connection since my MacbookPro get 900MB or more download speed.

If I'm testing with the router (with the same cable) I get only 250 MB speed.

Any ideas what might be the problem? As far as I know this model has 1gbit WAN port.

    Thank you very much

    Zoltan

Any ideas what might be the problem? As far as I know this model has 1gbit WAN port.

Yes, it is... but NAT in router is not powerful enough to manage gigabit connections...

I'd say you're still shy of the number... I expect about 400-450Mbps as the best, that the processor can handle without hardware NAT.

The problem is firmware Apple removes material NAT... and without it the speed decreases considerably... but you probably other things running that is causing slow downs.

Apple Airport extreme is in the list... a long long way down. Place about 80... with prices upwards... the design is now 4 years old and simple fact is that they have been exceeded on all fronts.

original title: drive hard extreme airport

Using Windows 7 and the Airport Extreme. The Airport Extreme has a USB port that can be used to mount an external hard drive which is accessible via the wireless connection. Only thing is, I can't get a 2 GB flash drive will appear for mapping. When I use the other hard drives, they never show upward for mapping. They show that it is connected to the Airport Extreme, but are not seen by my PC. The internet has a rumor according to which hard drives will show up only on a PC if they are to FAT32... which would work without another formatted hard drive. What do you know about my problems of compatibility with hard drives?

    Hello

Check updates firmware for the Airport Extreme.

    ---------------------

Although I think that the question is really the Airport Extreme also updates Windows 7 WiFi.
Check with the system manufacturer and the real device manufacturer updates the driver.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using the methods
below is preferred so that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are
    found)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

Download - SAVE - go where you put it - right click – RUN AS ADMIN.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version.
(Those become your fonts of rescue system manufacturer).

Repeat for network (NIC) card and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as windows

    I hope this helps.

  • I want to register to a new Airport extreme

I am trying to record a new extreme airport bought on Amazon, I don't see where I can do I also bought a 2-year warranty that I have not yet received

AS FAR AS I KNOW... Airport extreme is a device and not important in the Apple of things.

There is no available for an Airport Extreme applecare... If you have purchased an extended warranty of 2 years, this is by a third party.

AppleCare on a computer, an ipad or apple TV covers the Airport Extreme as well.

  • Wireless & Airport Solutions

I have an internet connection provided by the residence where I live and I can only get the wifi signal and access the internet by entering a username and password to a login page.

I am looking for a solution to backup my MacBook and PC and I was wondering if I can use the Time Capsule from Apple, or possibly the Airport Extreme with external drives connected via USB.

The idea would be to directly connect Time Capsule to the wifi signal or use Airport Extreme connected to the wifi signal.

Do you think this may be a possible solution or are there other issues that I should?

Unfortunately, the time Capsule or AirPort Extreme is able to connect to the Internet using the wireless and also act as a router at the same time. They all two need a wired Ethernet connection to another modem or router for this purpose.

According to the type of connection that you are using now, it would be possible to set up an AirPort Express to 'join' the wireless network and then provide an Ethernet to a Time Capsule or AirPort Extreme signal . I say "may" here because you don't know if it will work until try you it. So, get all the details about the store return policy before you buy would be wise.

I use a similar editing when I'm traveling and staying in hotels that offer only a wireless connection. An AirPort Express "connects" the hotel network and then connects with a short Ethernet cable to an AirPort Extreme. In this way, I can set up my own private network in the hotel room for several devices.

If you decide to try this... as a test, buy only an AirPort Express and it set up to 'join' the wireless network. Then, use a spare Ethernet short cable... no matter how long is going to connect to your Mac or PC. Turn off the WiFi on the computer and see if you can connect to the network and get a good Internet connection. If you can, then an AirPort Extreme or Time Capsule works.

However, if you can't get the Express to offer Internet Ethernet connection to your computer, then the proposed set up will not work. Return the Express for a refund.
