    Hello

Is that what the problem if you are using an original DVD? Try to check if the lens is dirty. I don't know how old is your unit, but if the warranty is still valid, contact the Service partner and let check the device.

If the reader has this problem reading original DVD movies it's probably hardware malfunction.

  • DVD Player/Recorder does not work all of a sudden.

DVD a few weeks previously, worked the last time I played a DVD. Now can not access all. Device Mgr gives this comment, "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19). "I tried driver update, but it says I have the latest version of the driver. Guess that something happened with the registry. Someone tell a novice how to fix?

    Hi Numbrod,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community Forums.

Leave your post, it seems that you have found an error Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) »

This can occur when more than one service is defined for a device, if there is a failure at the opening of the service registry entry, or if the driver name cannot be obtained from the service registry entry.

Let's try the steps in this link and check if it works:

Your CD or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs

To do: Important this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. Sounds as if the reader does not, replace it and see what happens.

I have a HP dv7 1262us running SP2 from Vista and HP mediasmart 222.3309 and a DVD burner/bluray player. I can watch a dvd very well, but when I put in a bluray, he asked if I want to check the updates, I said yes and he flashes on the screen and ask you to check the updates again. I uninstalled medaismart and reinstalled twice and entered in the HP support and installed medaismart dvd v2.20 b2 five times, mediasmart can request to update and takes me on free upgrade to cyberlink website, I do this and it uninstalls and reinstalls the drivers. But still no bluray player. I can also go to windows Explorer and look at whats on the disk, so I know it isn't a hardware problem, but a problem with mediasmart. What should I do?

  • My DVD/CD drive does not work in Windows 8 Professional, and it ISN'T a hardware problem.

My DVD/CD drive does not work in Windows 8 Professional with or without data or audio in it. However, if I turn off the PC with a bootable CD/DVD in there, the PC recognize the media and initiate the CD when turned on. This confirms that the DVD/CD drive actually works, but for some stupid reason, Microsoft Windows 8 Professional will not recognize the same DVD/CD player it loaded since! Thanks again Microsoft for another product of shit. Now, how are you going to fix this? And how are we supposed to run things such as WordPad or paint, etc. I predict that Windows 8 will fall faster than Windows Me!

  • The Windows media player 11 does not work correctly

My windows media player 11 does not work properly

whenever I go to open a video with it, it appears on the taskbar, you can here the sound, but the player himself does not appear on the destop

I tried to reinstall the drive, and I get the same thing.

If I go to roll back the player, add remove programs say it has been restored, but the media runtime in Add Remove programs won't disappear because it says that windows media player 11 is always there.

    Help

    Hello rockys_rod,

To fix it, simply remove your old library files. Then have Windows Media Player find your new files. It will not destroy your music files.

How to get WMP to re - index your music:

    1. close Microsoft Media Player.
    2. click on Start and then run
    3. in the box, type the following:
    [list] %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player

    4. click on OK and a folder containing your library files will be displayed
    5. delete all files ending with .wmdb
    6. open Microsoft Media Player
    7. press F3
    8. Select the addresses of your music files
9 WMP will re-index your music.

If this does not help, try the FixIt in the article below:
KB Article ID: 947541 -Windows Media Player stops responding after you install a third-party product that registers its own version of the Wmp.dll file

Please reply back and let us know if this can help.
