  to see all that is corrupt.  It could be a simple file.  Hope the DVD was not a RW, they can cause this kind of thing.

  Assuming that you have not scheduled a chkdsk to run at the next reboot of your system:

  If your system is running a chkdsk, it means that Windows has found the volume to be 'dirty' and will make an effort to solve the problem by running chkdsk with fixed error (chkdsk/r) of Windows startup.

  A volume may become dirty things such as a power failure, power failure, taken by pulling, using the power/reset button, etc. While Windows is running off the battery.

• Cannot start the VM, corrupted disk

  I can't start my VM. I get the error message "file not found: FSL_vm5_32.vmdk". I then navigate to the file, which is where it should be, select this option and keeps coming, same error.  Opening of the FSL_vm5_32.vmdk it seems ok. I pasted the files vmdk and vmx below. I noticed that the size of the hard disk is 0 bytes. If I click on the hard drive I get an error "the specified file is not a virtual disk.  So I tried to add a hard disk using an existing virtual drive and then got the same error that "the specified file is not a virtual disk.  Then I tried to import the virtual machine by using the source of other and selecting the VMX file. Which gives an error that it cannot determine the guest operating system.

  Looking for the log file, it appears that one of the files that make up the virtual disk cannot be read. I have posted the log below.

  Is it possible to repair this file or around?

  I am running VMware Workstation 6.5.2 build-156735 on Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit. The virtual machine is a Linux RedHat enterprise 5.

  The laptop is a Satellite L300D-13 s.

  I tried to restore the laptop using the restore discs, the first disc has worked well, but he did not recognize the second disk. No matter what I have I could not get to read this disc.

  Recovery procedure can be performed on two tracks:
  -Via recovery CD/DVD or
  -From the HDD recovery procedure

  If there is problem with the created discs, then you should try to use the second option. It works as follows:
  -Start your laptop and press F8 for Advanced Startup Options
  -Here you will see the option to fix my computer
  -Choose this option and follow the on-screen menu.
  -Then, you will encounter the system recovery options
  -The last option is the Toshiba recovery procedure. Select it and follow the on-screen menu.

  Please note: this will work if you didn t change partition structure, installed OS clean or deleted the folder HDDRecovery.

  At the end I have to say, if nothing helps, and if you are not able to install the OS by using one of these methods I see a solution only: you must order the new recovery DVDs.

  Hello, I own XPS 1530. I get a screen showing errors on the c drive, which can only be fixed after a restart, but they are not fixed no matter how many times I reboot. I did the command-line as administrator then SFC/scannow. at the end of the scan he says that some problems are not fixed. Theres be a way I can have these scanned/fixed disks at startup and avoid this nonsense altogether. Does anyone know how to fix this? I thank very you much for your time and help!

  I reinstalled windows by dvd. A dell technician got on my comp. Dell connect and helped me to reinstall windows. It's the only thing that worked.apparently, I got a bad installation to try to do a restore to factory before. Thank you for your response.

  Does turn a SLES 11 guest in Workstation 9 no problem almost year-round.  After the upgrade to WS 10 guest suspended on startup. I had to reboot the client and upon restart initrd reported the error:

  The virtual machine has been roasted.  So I created a new virtual machine within WS10.  SLES 11 SP2 installation went well, but on reboot, the Hung guest.  He hung so badly that the comment process will not re-start and that he could not be killed.  I had to reboot my entire army.  The virtual machine is restarted, I got the same error: "incompatible file system structure.

  The client is running 3.0.38 - 0.5

  The virtual computer is configured with 64 GB of RAM, 16 processors and a single 1 TB virtual disk (not allocated in advance).

  WS10 itself is pretty grumpy and open hangs for a while open settings, by clicking on restart, etc..

  The host is Windows 7 64 bit, 256 GB of RAM, 2 x E5-2670 (total of 16 cores, 32 processors with hyperthreading).

  I was wondering if it is a known problem with VMware, or I have a new problem

  A virtual machine with this record is IMHO a ticket to the problems. I wouldn't like that of any useful data in a virtual machine.
  Too much RAM and CPU using a vmdk more in addition to the other side.

  If you really need the RAM and the CPU you should also give a preallouee vmdk virtual machine.

  One little mistake with a drive can increasingly do all the unreadable disk.
  Préallouée record on the other side are also stable and forgiving error like a physical machine on hard drives ordinary.

  I use vmdk growing with a dimension nominal superior say 200 GB only for test VMs.
  For virtual machines with VMDK preallouees only valid data should be used

  Removed a temporary file; tried to install it in a different folder on the desktop. Created the folder... couldn't copy on CD-ROM in record high desk. No other discs could be copied to desktop. Tried the "scan" (right click) with CD-ROM drive... The scan never completed with disc #4. Didn't say there are errors, just kept turning the CD-ROM drive. I could try to load all the four discs in old computer (10 years) to see if the 4 disk is corrupted or damaged. But if he writes above DirectX 7 with DirectX 9 c. .t will destroy the old drivers and I keep the old PC to run old programs. But what are the chances that I have a corrupted disk? Who and how I will replace if FS9 is no longer supported?
  When I bought this PC in 2007 (BTW there installed SP3) it loaded and run Fs 2002 to 100 FPS. Why it won't install (let alone run) FS9?

  How to get Vista recovery Media or the Vista recovery Partition on your computer back to factory settings.

  There is no Vista free download legal available.

  Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

  Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

  In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

  See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

  Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

  Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

  Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

  They will tell you how to do this.

  Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

  Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
  A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
  The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

  There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

  If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

  Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

  At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

• Windows want to format the iPod, iTunes wants to restore, nothing works...

  I bought an iPod nano 7th generation,

  I had iTunes already installed on my pc (surface pro 4 Windows 10).

  If I loaded the iPod with a phone charger, then I plugged into my computer, and two things prompted, 2 first messages from Windows Explorer, saying that the iPod needs to be formatted, then iTunes says that the iPod is corrupted and must be restored.

  So I ignore windows messages and I restored the iPod to iTunes (you download the latest version of its software), but whenever the restoration is finished and iTunes is waiting for the iPod restart, it began in the early, saying it needs formatting and iTunes says the Windows device is damaged.

  I have tried everything, formatting of the iPod, uninstall the drivers, reinstall iTunes, delete the letter of the Disk Manager disk (although the iPod is shown in RAW format).

  Don't know what to do anymore.

  Try to get someone running iTunes on Windows 7 to restore the device for you. There seems to be a problem with recent versions of Windows 10 reports falsely iPods as having a corrupted disk when they don't. This can prevent the restore process to complete successfully. You can also try a complete tear down and rebuild iTunes, in case there is a different reason for your question.   A few weeks ago my laptop had against accidental damage to the display. I immediately sent it in repairs to ensure IT Services in South Africa, they're a HP authorized repair center. They sent me a quote asserting that the RAM is faulty as well. What I gather from their bill after repairs, is that they have replaced the unit mother and display. So I took home, turn it on, 5 minutes later BSOD. It happens randomly and often now. I can't update to win 10. Before you send them, I never had problems.

  The laptop is still under warranty.
  
  I tried a full factory reset without success. Doesn't a scan of the memory with memtest86, it found no problem. I ran sfc/scannow and it found some corrupted files and fixed them but to no avail. I downloaded BlueSreenView and checked, google and tried some fixes, but all without success. Windows Update also bugs out. I uninstalled the AV, always of BSOD. I reinstalled a different AV, still BSOD.
  
  I think they may have given me a faulty motherboard, or somewhere, some drivers are broken.

  Thanks for your reply.

  After much more research on Google I tried to analyze the event log which led me to believe that my computer had cancer. Random errors for a lot of things. Opening of my task scheduler has given a face full of error messages telling me that each task no longer exists.

  Finally, I tried a full recovery and redefinition of disc.

  This does not, gives me an error related to the FeatureByte of the motherboard.

  Turns out the technician who installed it has not changed the specific FeatureByte of motherboard in the BIOS of the new motherboard than the old motherboard they replaced. This led to both windows and my recovery is irrevocably corrupted disk (unless of course I changed the FeatureByte myself but it seems that you have need of the soul of a thousand children and owner HP EEPROM, programming material).

  I fixed that by completely reinstalling my windows with an old drive that I had to hang out (ISO, rufus, boot USB... image) and redownloading all of my HP drivers. Unfortunately I now don't have a recovery on my SSD partition, but it's a nuisance, with that I am ready to implement.

  I hope someone reads this and helps them solve the same problem.

  I have a laptop tecra a-2 after installation of a new firmware for toshiba dvd rom sd-r2512 all I get this message when starting and the reader is unaccesible. What should I do?

  Where did you get the firmware?
  I guess you used is not not compatible or not supported in the firmware and this software has changed either the csel/slave/master settings or damage the player.
  This ide #1 error appears if the BIOS can not find the drive.
  This happens because of the wrong settings or corrupted disk.

  Unfortunately, I put t see chances to solve this problem. It seems that you damage the drive ;(

• TouchSmart 300-1223 re - install - stalls

  At the risk of giving too much information, I'll detail what I did the last two weeks and where I am...

  To prepare the machine for use by several different users, my son wanted to delete all. Before that, he created the 3 disk restore package. (This was about 6 months ago).

  > Tried to restore using the 3 disks. Restore the drive failed on 2, with the error 'corrupt disk '. I tried to "Retry" it, but I couldn't get the first boot or installation disk.

  > As of a couple of weeks, cold start re-boot (try to boot from the hard disk), leaves message "bootmgr" is missing.

  > In the process of moving from House to House, the mouse supplied with the machine has been lost.

  > After trying the below re - install without a mouse, I finally removed the USB KB and mouse 'antenna' of the slot in the bottom at the back of the machine. First tried to use a wireless mouse, by inserting the USB 'antenna' in a classical USB port. And even once attempted to re - install.

  > Downloaded a disc re - install and could somehow make a hardware diagnostic test. All the past.

  > Ordered re - install (Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit).

  > Machine started with disk 1 in. Indicates the file copy. Tracks for 10 to 12 hours.   Jlh4431 OK, the error "error 0 x 1005: unable to copy the file from source to destination" seems to point to a recovery corrupted disk, or possible hard disk corruption. Hard drive corruption is more likely, given that you got the error during formatting. It may be fixable, but you must connect your hard drive to a computer that can analyze the disk for errors. If you do not have this ability in the best way to get up and running is to replace the drive and perform a recovery of HP to restore it to factory settings.
