I took it to the Geek Squad at Best Buy and the guy at the counter said that the screen on my model could not be solved without labor being as much as the laptop was. He has explained that this something on the screen design was aligned by the body and could not be removed easily?  It was a quick and vague explanationa and my memory is blurred on exactly what he says. I have a friend who has the m4 Envy model that would replace its screen and it's a simple enough question and relatively inexpensive. Is it true that to get the screen replaced on the model I have is a difficult and costly process? Can someone better explain why the screen can be fixed quite easily as most laptops if I'm SOL on mine?

  I have a HP 310 1125Y that was purchased in April of this year.  The operating system is Windows 7.  I get the blue screen error message or it will freeze when on internet or application such as Word 2010 and Excel 2010. Once in the shop, the technician has played a DVD and it just stop, deleted and would not come.   I got it in the shop twice. Whenever they tell me that's not material, it's the software.    Someone had this problem?  What did you do to solve it?

  Hello pmb222: this can help until an HP expert can answer you back. I'm just a Toucsmart computer user. Click on help and support next to your program from the right list under default programs. During the opening type on the blue screen error in the search box. The next window will say resolution stop (blue screen) errors in Windows 7 there are given several options to help solve the problem. You already know that this is not a hardware problem. So that makes it easier to fix.  Read it, so most likely you will have to restore back at an early stage as long as it's software problem.   This kind of question is mainly caused by the sound card driver is not not compatible.  Contact the hardware manufacturer directly to confirm the driver is compatible or not.

  Test the issue with another pair of speakers or headphones, or you can plug the device of reading to another port to see the result.

  In the meantime, you can also see if the playback device is disabled. To do this, please check the following steps:

  1 Please, click Start-> Control Panel-> Sound.

  2. on the playback tab, right-click on the empty square and then click on "show disabled devices".

  3. check if your playback device is disabled. If so, right-click on it and click Activate.

  1. Please click Start, type services.msc and press ENTER.

  2. double-click on Windows Audio.

  3. click on the 'general' tab. Make sure the "Startup Type" is "automatic". Then please click on "Stop" under "Status of Service" to stop the service.

  4. click on "Start" under "Status of Service" to start the service.

  Reinstall the audio device

  I found the problem... once again: I had to go to the BIOS and enable Audio integrated. My audio integrated uses Realtek High Definition Audio instead of Nvidia High Definition Audio.

• When you open Photoshop CS6 I used to get what I called a 'quick fix' screen - how do I get it back?

  It was a predominantly white background with sliders for exposure, highlights, shadows, midtones and so on which makes it very easy to quickly bring a raw photo to the height to determine if it is usable or not.
  For some reason, that the program has now started opening in what I think is the standard appearance with a mostly black background and the menu in the upper part, which was what I got when closing down the screen of "quick fix", and I've used for more complex things like pixellating and so on.

  NEF or Nikon files Camera Raw once converted to png, does not open in Adobe Camera Raw. Only ships, jpegs, and tifffs can be opened in ACR,

  If you convert a nave in png, you can not convert in nave, so it's out of the question.

  If you open Bridge and see a tiff or jpeg, Cmd or Ctrl r it will open in Camera Raw.

  Then maybe bulk convert these png jpeg or tiff, then open them in ACR.

  The microphone and USB ports still work. I guess that still works Webcam but have not tested. I can't turn off using the power button (and it is white not orange) and I can't access the menu options waving my finger on the 1st button above the power button.

  * Disconnect all the wiring of the PC monitor (VGA, DVI, DP, HDMI, USB, etc.).
  * Unplug the power cord from the back of the monitor monitor
  * Press and hold the monitor power button during 5 seconds
  * Reconnect only the monitor power cord at the back of the monitor
  * Turn on the screen to see the automatic Test screen
  * The automatic Test floating dialog box should appear on-screen on a black background
  * Check the display for the show

So I told them that and how I broke the screen during the time it did not work and they tried to do a diagnostic on it that wouldn't work if they sent away for repair.   I have Thunderbird installed 28 on a new window machine 8.1 version.

  My hard drive went out on my early 2011 Macbook Pro with a broken screen. The broken screen this weekend, I've not had the chance to put in place for repair. Before the hard drive went out I used it Clamshack mode I know that it does not in recovery mode, but how bad of an idea do you think it would be to replace the hard drive and install Mac OS X blindly? Or do you think I should buy a tablet in Windows of 100 dollar budget to use temporary while that I set up for the fixed screen?

  I can't speak for your calendar or your budget, but... I asked when my MBP 2011 will no longer support the Genius Bar (products Apple will "legacy / obsolete ' possibly) the deadline is the end of this year early next year.   Don't wait too long to save for repair in my opinion.

  I understand that when you tried your YouCam 5 record playback, you can hear the sound, but the screen stays green.

  You did all your Windows updates?

  You either Direct X, Adobe flash player and direct X to date?

• M6-1205dx Windows 7 screen Freeze/Pixilation

  I got my computer from windows 8 for windows 7. I did it before I had done all the research on how this is something that will be super hard and give me a lot of problems. Evil goes through what I did so that we can try to understand what went wrong.

  I tried to install windows 7, he said he did not support Legacy mode enabled, then I have partitioned the hard drive and erased everything, I used the GParted program. I was able to install windows 7 after that. I didn't think it through that I had not all drivers readily avalible to install on my computer. I made a post here and has been gently guided to were I could get some work drivers for my computer.

  Now I am Reciving is that. I at randome times screen Get gel/pixilation - the pixilation isn't all over the screen right into small sections or small lines on the screen, the only way to deal with this is to make a manual stop by holding the power button. The other question I am reciving is also at randome times my computer will restart, and then start back upward with the error message that allows me to choose if I want to start in safe mode or not.

  I understand that I could probably reinstall windows 8 and solve all my problems, but I don't have a windows disc 8 to do this. Any help would be really great.

  This is a brand new computer I just picked up 12/06/2013 did a bad Hardisk sectors check no..  Do you have a RAM check all past and I have also not found that any errors in the event log.

  Windows 7 is not supported on your platform, no official drivers are available for that combination of operating system and platform, and so questions are likely.

  That said, the best option is to install an operating system supported, that the system has been designed - in this case, Windows 8. If you did not create recovery media before you erase your drive, you will need to order some directly contacting HP Support (800-HP-INVENT).
