Fixed with Windows 7 black screen problem?

My HP Pavilion dv2000 is having the dreaded black screen problem.  I figured out how do boot mode safe and backed up all my files.  Now, I'm ready for this ongoing problem (hopefully).  My other laptop HP running Windows 7 never had the problem of black screen.  So, upgrade to W7 will fix this problem?

You should not pass the operation when it does not work properly. You can make a difficult to solve the problem, unable to be resolved.

Have you tried last known good configuration or safe mode?

Please note that the problem may be with the hardware and not the operating system.

I have a Windows Vista SP1 64 bit with 8 GB of RAM and 2 3850's Radeon ATi CrossFireX. in any case, I have a program called mechanical system, you've all probably heard before, this is an excellent program to clean your hard disk and defragment your memory. However, I ran last night and said the program automatically restarts the computer when it ended, after that he finished and I rebooted was greeted with the atrocious Black Screen of Death with a cursor, if it is not blinking and I can move it freely, but there is nothing I can do with it given the background task bar is non-existent and the entire screen is black.

I tried some of the solutions, I can not even the CTRL + ALT + DELETE to get into task manager and manually start explorer.exe; Help me please. The only type of response I can get from the system is to obtain the keys to stick to pop up when I hit the SHIFT key five times. I am very confused. I don't have external hard drives hooked up to it and there is no thumb-drive connected via USB either. I'm completely puzzled here. Please help me.

    Hello

System Mechanic, by Iolo is one of the best of this type of program, he's trying to at least
be legitimate, however it is still a Registry Cleaner and system optimizer that leaves a
much to be desired in terms of compatibility. These programs are more likely to ask questions
While fixing anything. Most are like snake oil. So my advice would be to uninstall. If you insist
use make sure you have done a current Restore Point before using it and keep current backups
    on the primary drive.

No saving necessary data and re-installing Windows Vista might be the best option, but here
    are a few others.

You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer as a 2nd disk (best) or external
Drive USB enclosure and then backup to removable media such as CD, DVD or other USB drives.
Of course a real store of the computer or the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files.

Or you can use a boot Ubuntu CD to back up data.

A method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure) is CTRL +.

  • Windows 7 black screen with the cursor of the mouse in normal mode and safe

    Hi all
    I hope someone can help.
Laptop downloaded updates and after the restart will only go to a black screen with the mobile mouse cursor.
This occurs in safe mode, normal mode.
I tried all variations of safe mode and still the same thing happens.
Last known configuration does not solve. (i.e. no restoration or image to enter)
Using the vista win7 dvd upgrade or a linux dvd and screen appears as you expect his obvious system is very good.
I tried the options on ctrl alt del, ctrl shift esc etc etc, but I cannot go into Control Panel, or a any part of the win7 GUI.
Best I can do is access via the command-line... any thoughts on how to fix?

    Hello

Welcome to Microsoft Windows 7 answers Forum!

You can try the following steps and check whether the problem is resolved.

You can disconnect all external devices except the keyboard and mouse and check if you are able to boot to the desktop and check.

I also recommend what to do the Startup Repair. Follow these steps:

To perform a Startup Repair follow these steps:

    1. Insert the DVD of Windows 7 and restart the computer.

    2. when we are asked to press a key to boot from the DVD, please press enter or the SPACEBAR.

    3. choose your language settings, and then click Next.

    4. click on repair your computer.

    5. Select the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.

    6. in the System Recovery Options menu, click Startup Repair. Startup Repair can invite you to make choices as it tries to solve the problem, and if necessary, it may restart your computer, because it makes the repairs.

Access the link below for more information on the Startup Repair:

  • Windows Vista starts with only a black screen with the mouse pointer.

Saturday, 02/27/10, I left my laptop (Dell Inspiron 1405 E) because I used Studio to produce a couple of videos.  When I got up in the morning, he himself had closed.  I tried to put on normally, and he said: recovery error windows, then on lists: Launch Startup Repair tool and start windows normally.  I tried to do a repair, but it just comes back to the same screen.  When I try to boot normally, it shows the progress on the background as usual bar, but then he comes up to a black screen with a mouse pointer.  When I run one of the many diagnostic tests, it is said that the BIOS cannot find the operating system loader.  I'm pretty adept at computers, but nothing I've tried before reinstalling Vista works.  I have files that I need to keep it on the computer, and only a few of them are saved.  Please help me soon, as I need for my school musical production on Thursday.

  • Strange black screen problem Inspiron 1526

    Dell Inspiron 1526 - Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bit) - Service Pack 2 (problem started all with SP1) - AMD Turion (TM) 64 X 2 Mobile Technology TL-60 2.00 GHz - ATI Radeon X 1200 Series

This is probably the strangest problem that I've never seen or heard of.  I've owned this phone for about a year and a half without any problem, then one day, I decided to put my computer into sleep mode by closing the lid (I've done several times before without problem.).  When I lifted the lid, the computer woke up, but the screen refused to show.  Thinking it was an easily solvable problem, I restarted the computer.  The computer turned on, but the screen was black.  After having turned the computer works enough times (probably 20), finally displayed screen and the error message say 'RTC Mode Fixed.  Date and time can be wrong. "I couldn't help but think"What the... ". "I ran into my share of issues of computer before, but nothing as weird as this.

Assuming that everything was fine, I let the computer start normally and shortly after the BIOS, the computer screen suddenly turns off.  The only way I could get the boot sequence to pass the BIOS screen and start normally, I had to remove all the devices (including the power cord.)  After the computer has finally loaded completely, I was able to function normally.  Almost every time that I cut it however, the black screen problem happen again.

A solution will be greatly appreciated.

If you still experience the problem, or if you arrived after doing a search for the same problem with your Inspiron1526 (or other). The solution is to replace the CMOS battery. There was some problems with the connector of the screen becomes loose, but if reinstalling the display connector does not solve your problem, then the battery is dead.  The Mitsubishi CR2032 batteries from CHINA are down less than 1.5 volts in only 1-2 years. Looking at the battery that looks like they're a cheap copy of bootleg and probably not at all Mitsubishi. They all have the "Made In CHINA" stamp on the bottom edge. Unfortunately to get to the CMOS battery, you will need to disassemble the laptop computer entire almost to have access, but by replacing the bad battery with a reputable CR2032 3 v battery will solve the problem. After the first reboot, you need to give time for the BIOS to reconfigure and you need to reset the time system and date but the laptop will resume its normal operation after that.

Unfortunately many calls to Dell technical service gave no help to this problem either. Technicians have even claimed to have no knowledge of what the CAPS and the blinking NUM LOCK lights meant. If you are lucky, you may be able to restart a couple times before the laptop doesn't start is not at all, but the time system must be reset - if this happened to you, it's a dead giveaway that the CMOS battery is about to fail. Once you hear the voltage of the battery drops to initial power engage readers and the fan will run for a few moments and then the unit will completely disable. Nothing appears on the screen.

Good then Ive internet scowerd to subject a houre read a lot of black screen of death without success problems.  Ive come to the conclusion that it is a unique problem.

    Inspiron 9400, Windows vista

Problem: I'm catching up after startup, it does not show the vista logo but showed the loading bar, doesn't make it to the login screen. Instead shows the bright black screen with a cursor, the cursor moves freely. Ctrl-alt-del does not work, StickyKeys is sound but no visual. So we know that this abomination of windows load. We are now trying to startup repair. We know that the battery did not work because more than a year, the bios indicates there is no battery, I wonder what this block that says battery is lol.

Whatcha got for me internet doesn't let me down.

PS one of the dumbest moments of windows.

Repair window said. May take a few minutes.

Startup Repair process may take an hour to complete

  • Windows 7 black screen with the cursor on the linen. 3-5 minutes long

I have an Elitebook 8740w HP with Windows 7 which takes longer than 5 minutes to start. It will sit on a black screen with the mouse (which moves), until finally, it loads the login screen. The netsvcs group takes up to 900 MB + of ram and possibly the computer overheating? and turns off immediately. I think it may be issued a driver. This is the last log to start the laptop. The machine works fine in safe mode.

In addition, no major change was to the PC.

  • Windows 7 black screen with cursor (without flashing) to start in normal mode or safe. HELP PLEASE!

Yesterday, I was using my computer and it locked up, so I turned off the power and the reboot. When I did this went to a system startup repair screen and said that no problem was detected on windows startup. However, I always get a black with a cursor screen when I try to start my computer. It does this in regular mode, course, debugging, any mode that concerns windows makes the screen just go black after the windows loading screen.

I found many people having problems with black screen, but none seems to be identical to mine, since most people can always use safe mode. I tried to do a system restore but it says that no restore point has been set, even if I did restorations in the past by the control panel (not the computer repairman found by pressing F8 to turn on my laptop.

My laptop is a Sony VAIO VGN NW125J, I don't have a windows recovery disk, or something like that because I got a free upgrade to Windows 7, when I bought the laptop a little over a year. Someone knows a way to solve this problem, or I'll have to give up a few hundred dollars and bring it to the Geek Squad? Thanks in advance!
