Flag: My laptop keeps freezing

I have my phone for a long time, it was great at first, then all of a sudden it has stopped working, it freezes when I connect and will take about half an hour to go to the homepage when I finally reach the homepage it wont let me click anything whether it's and doesn't load no matter what , people tell me to do these tests, which I can't do because the laptop crashes please someone tell me how to fix it

Hello

24 short drive self-test error code would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This is also consistent with the problems you describe in your initial post.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disk replaced - you can check the status of your warranty here.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

If you are out of warranty and would like a guide to replacing the hard drive yourself, let me know.

Kind regards

It is not easy to say why this happen, but I think it's certainly software related issue.
I don't know how much experience do you have with the operating systems and are you ready to look for a problem or you want to solve this problem quickly.

If you want to quick fix use Toshiba recovery disc and reinstall the OS. With the own operating system preinstalled, everything should be OK again.

Otherway follow the instructions I found on the internet:
    ------------------------------
I have a few here that might solve the problem.

First of all, I suggest that you start the computer in safe mode and of control; safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not run in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed that, follow these steps to start the computer in safe mode with networking:

(A.) to restart the computer using safe mode, restart the computer and press the F8 key for about four to five times. Appears in safe mode listed in the advanced options of Windows. Select Safe Mode, and then press ENTER.

Now check if you are able to work with your programs, if you are able to start the computer in safe mode only, then the problem may be with all the conflicting startup items on your computer.

    (B) you may need to perform the clean boot on your computer, to help troubleshoot error messages and other issues, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

The following link has steps showing how to perform the clean boot: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

    (1) perform the clean boot (check the link to perform the clean boot)
    (2) enable half the services
    (3) determine whether the problem returns
    (4) enable half of the startup items
    (5) determine if the problem returns
    (6) repeat the steps above until you find out which program or service is causing the issue

After you determine the startup item or the service that is causing the problem, contact the manufacturer of the program to determine if the problem can be solved. Or, run the System Configuration utility, and then click to clear the check box of the element of the problem.

Note: Please make sure that the computer is configured to start as usual according to step 7 of the article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

If the problem persists, I suggest that you perform a scan of the file system [SFC] checker on the computer, this replaces the corrupt system files with system Version of Windows on the computer files, follow these steps to perform a scan:

I suggest to empty the temp folder and later, follow these steps:

    i. Click Start > type % temp % in the start search box > press on enter > delete everything present in the temp folder.

    1. Click Start and type cmd in the box start the search.
    2. right click on cmd in the list programs and then click Run as administrator.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue
    3. at the command calls, the following line and press ENTER: sfc/scannow

When the analysis is complete, test to see if the problem you are experiencing is resolved.

My laptop (HP pavilion tx2500) keeps freezing after the start, there is no error message warning that the thing just crashes without warning moments after startup, someone had this problem and know how to solve this problem.

It could be a number of things, then we should try to eliminate some. Try to enter the HP utilities but endearing running tests of disk and tape on the F10 key, I think and hard memory.  Try to run Notepad without the battery installed and just the power adapter.  Try to use one piece of memory and try the two slots. Then try the other room and try the two slots.  If you don't have that one piece of memory, at least try the other location.  Try a hard reset:

One day, I was playing CS, everything's fine, it works well, I know that my pc is not the best for playing games, I'm running with fps constant of 40-60 which is not obtained, but not bad either. I removed my battery of laptop, but kept plugged in because I know that if you kept it loads during use, it can decrease the life of the battery power. A few hours later in the game, my laptop just turned off. I don't know why, maybe the charger has been moved and unplugged then I checked. He was actually plugged in nice and safe, and I don't think it was the cause of the laptop to turn off or maybe it was. Then I turned on my laptop. Every thing seems fine but the 'Welcome' screen any longer that it was. A minutes and continues the 'welcome' to display. I know something was wrong because who usually took only a few seconds to load. I turned off my pc and opened it again. Nothing had changed, it is still stuck on the Welcome screen. So I waited a little longer, now 3 minutes, I saw the circle of loading thingy is frozen and non-mobile.

I'm a little worried that I just broke my laptop, I tried a few corrections in the internet, but I can't find. I went advanced startup settings and did a system restore and choose the settings of only a few days.
The system recovery succeeded. I restarted my PC, I was so happy that I fixed it, for so I thought it was. I open Google chrome, but as soon as I pressed the Enter key everything froze. Same office does not. I restarted my pc again. The start-up took a little longer. After going on the office a few minutes later the pc simply froze again. I can't do anything. I've been waiting so he could meet again for 10 minutes and still frozen. I restarted my pc and was able to put it in SafeMode before it froze again. And everything works fine in safe mode. I can still surf the internet but can't actually play cs: go in what is sad. I can still play undertale but which is nice. When I put back it in normal mode, it keeps freezing after a few minutes.

If someone out there who can help me understand what causes this and how to solve my problem I would appreciate it a lot! :)

Too long and did not read?: my PC turns off suddenly, when I boot it its stuck at welcome screen upward.

Did a system restore and solved the problem but now it keeps freezing and not responding do not.

Set it in safe mode and everything is fine but only limited.

    Hello

Games can be hardware intensive (graphics, etc.) and your problem seems to come from a special combination of games and an accumulation of dust in your laptop causing it to cut.

It may be an overheating problem and it is normally the main reason for your problem.

    .

If it's a hardware problem, it would not not to restart.

That said, it is possible to have a hairline cracks in the motherboard, etc, which becomes obvious as soon as it warms up

Check vents for hair, dust, etc. and do not use a laptop when it is based on material surfaces: bedspreads, blankets, etc.

If the problem persists, because it of a laptop, bring it to a local computer and reliable repair shop and get them to open and clean the dust inside...

If this isn't the case, then run Dism/online/Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth to repair any corruption component store, restart the PC later and try the sfc/scannow command.

If still no, then try using ONE OPTION above to run the command sfc/scannow at the start

If still no, then you could do a Refresh of Windows 8, or run a System Restore using a restore point dated before the wrong file occurred to fix. You may need to repeat doing a restore of the system until you find a restore point that is older that may work.

    ===========================================

Think about it an absolute must - manually update your drivers.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using the methods
above is preferred so that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are
    found)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.

You run these utilities to see if there is any useful information?

You should use diagnostics to determine the cause.

As I said, heat problems do not always mean too, could be something too sensitive
to normal levels. And there may be some power partners or other hardware problems.

There is no magic solution, troubleshooting is required, and you may need technical support

  • Error message: MS office click-to-run stopped working and laptop keep freezing.

I have a Samsung laptop, RV515 (1.65 GB and 4 GB of RAM, 500 GB) running on Windows 7 and MS Office 2007 Academic.

I got the message 'not only respondents' for a long time, but they became more frequent, especially in Internet Explore but then also in Google chrome and Word. Then, I installed MS office 2013 and updated Norton in the same week and got a lot more message "not responding". I also downloaded a program that converts Youtube videos in files.  So I defragmented which took about 14 hours and a complete analysis of the system, which was another 9 hours. The laptop was faster that he had never been but then after a few days started to freeze in almost all programs. CLT-alt-del screen stopped appearing. I did a lot of system and controls maintenance, who says super fetch couldn't run, but everything else was okay. I tried a number of time to start to look great but every time I check it is said that it will not start.

My Norton live-view disappeared at the same time I downloaded the Youtube converter (see above) so I deleted Norton in safe mode and rebooted, but it didn't reappear. Then, I thought that I should delete all parasitic programs that my son downloaded so I deleted a few games and Youtube converter, but also ' ETDware PS/2-X64_WHQL' thinking that was a game too! In any case, my laptop has complained and reinstalled.

I have tried reloading MS Windows 7 and had this message: windows can not retrieve information about the disks on this computer.

In safe mode Office Professional 2013 does not open, but the fact of MS Office 2007. So I tried to repair Office Professional and I got this message: click on MS Office to run has stopped working.

Anyway, my current position is that my computer starts normally but which icon I click on (even the start ORB), it sends the hourglass spinning and the screen freezing. A few times I was able to open a program, but is that I get.

I am not an expert as you have no doubt worked and have messed with it much too now and are out of options. Help someone?

    Hello

    1. How do you reload Windows 7, using repair disk or drive back?

2 are conducting an update install?

I suggest you perform a chkdsk and see if it helps.

Check a drive for errors: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Check-a-drive-for-errors

Note: When running chkdsk on the drive hard if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.

  • Acer Aspire V3 551G. New laptop keeps freezing.

    Hi all.
I literally just got my Acer Aspire V3 to laptop model 551G (about 4 hours.) Be my usual self, I already had it started, set up and install the program I usually use.

It runs Windows 8, has an AMD A10 processor and the AMD Radeon graphics card. (I bought it for moderate usage of Internet games and General quantities.)

I've set up with all my details etc and the first program that I intend to install is Google Chrome which I never imagined causing problems because it's a whole/commonly used the browser world.
Once it was over, I started to install Steam (engine thingy game program)

Everything was fine, these two programs have been installed successfully and opens without any problem. So I thought ' start sick good download my games ' first was Sid Meirs Civilization V. This started a download I decided to check my twitter / Facebook account on Google chrome. About 10 minutes in my browsing session, the frozen screen. Don't would not move the mouse, windows button could not take back me to the home screen, Ctrl + Alt + Delete does not work, so after waiting 30 minutes on something that is happening, I've resorted to now hold the power button. I rebooted and continued the game Steam download and preceded to check twitter and Facebook (oblivious to the fact that multitasking could cause the gel) and frozen again after about 5 minutes.
It has frozen a total of 4 times, and I thought, that what the hell, let's just factory reset, I had nothing to lose. He is currently set to zero and updates with the result.

If anyone knows if this has been a problem with this laptop or how can I find reports of errors etc (I'm not much of a computer boffin, I know how to use, but not fix etc.) it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance for the answers.

I checked some reviews, and it's a nice platform you have.

I can give a little practical advice? With a new computer, slow down on downloads until you saw that everything works fine. Make only one download at a time for a period of time, if something goes wrong, you know what it is.

Eventually, your problem is an intense game on a laptop while performing a download, and it was just too much.

I don't know what OS you were using before, but your game might have problems with Windows 8.

  • Screen keeps freezing especially when on the internet on the Satellite Pro series

The screen on my laptop keeps freezing, especially when I'm on the internet, no idea why this is and what I can do to stop it.

Do you mean that the screen freezes or the whole operating system?

Have you checked the operating system for some viruses and malware?

Have you tried to recover the operating system with the Toshiba restore CD delivered?
    Please check this!

PS: What laptop do you use?

My ipod does not correctly install when I plugged it into USB. Since then, my laptop keeps freezing / crashing.  Start repair found the problem mentioned but could not fix it and just send an error report.

I tried restoring the system and installed the updates of windows, but I still have the problem. I reinstalled itunes and my AV is up to date, I can't find a solution.

    Hello

    1. are you confronted this question all the time or only when using the IPOD?

    2. What is the brand and model of the computer?

  • Computer laptop G62 keeps freezing

For the last two days, my laptop G62 - 227 CL keeps freezing once I used it for about 5-10 minutes.  It freezes completely - no cursor movement or response to all keys.  In addition, it freezes any programs I am running.

However, I am able to use the computer in Mode safe mode with network without any point of freezing (so far; I was in Mode without fail for about 30 minutes).  Unfortunately, I need to use MS Word, which does not work in Mode without failure.

I use the computer entirely on the current because the battery is pretty much kaput.  Could be the problem?  If so, I'm confused as to how the computer can operate in Mode without failure.  I can't afford a new battery, so I hope that there is just some sort of software problem.

Is there some kind of diagnosis I can run who can tell me what is the problem, or if anyone else has had this problem?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hello

    You are welcome

From your description of the issue and the HARD drive error code, it seems that the player is running out - is one of the reasons for which a failing drive will run in Mode safe because it experiences less load (in terms of read/write) when Windows is running in this mode.

The first thing I recommend is to back up all your personal files etc so that you always have access - lack of readers can be unpredictable.

Once completed, see if the following is helpful at all.

Start in Safe Mode, click the Start Menu, click computer, left click Local disk C once to highlight, right-click on Local C drive and select Properties.  Click the Tools tab and then click on the button "check the drive for errors.  In the next window make sure that both boxes are checked, then click Start.  Right plan the audit on the next reboot of the system, and then restart the laptop - this process can take several hours before the load in Windows.

If there is no improvement real time this is over, it is probably time to think about replacing the HARD drive - if you want a guide on this procedure, please let me know.

    Kind regards

  • My HP Pavilion laptop 1001sa g6 keeps freezing (windows 7)

Hi, I wonder if someone can help me.

About 2 months I bought this new laptop, it was fine until recently.

Whenever I go on the internet, try to download something, try opening a new tab, my phone freezes, and generally it won't let me open Task Manager when I press CTRL + ALT + DELETE. I don't know why it does this, I ran virus scans with Norton (I'm still in my free trial of 90 days) and no threats were found, I did Disk Defragmenter, I scanned the computer to find errors, I have done disk clean ups and I have no idea why it freezes again. I also changed my Internet browser from Microsoft Internet Explorer to Mozilla Firefox and I always seem to have the same problems.

Any help would be appreciated as to why he keeps freezing or if anyone has had the same kind of problems with their laptops?

    Thank you

    Hello

Yes, you will need to make a backup of all your personal files to some form of external media (external hard drive, DVD, etc.).  As a general rule, HP will send you the new hard drive - it will be completely empty, then you will need to reinstall the operating system on the new drive using your recovery disks, then load back your personal files from your external backup source.  If you have not created your set of recovery disks, you will need to order a set of replacement of these at the same time.

The procedure of replacing the HARD drive is detailed from Page 45 of your & Maintenance Guide.

    Kind regards
