Flash player will not install can not watch videos

I want to see the videos. Be it the latest new ones, music, whatever. Got this useless Vista & these are some messages I get when I TRY to watch a video:

Yahoo says:

Yahoo requires Macromedia Flash Player version 10: Action required
Macromedia Flash Player needs to be updated / installed on your computer.

YouTube says:

Hello, you have disabled JavaScript or an old version of Adobe Flash Player. Download the latest version of the Flash player.

Fine. I'm not dense. Go to the site. do as he says. NOTHING! Said that it has installed yada is... wrong! It won't work... said again & again, it is installed & is NOT! Stop, restart, remove and reload! Nothing! STILL no playback of videos. Ok. Call HP.  I am told that I have 32 bit op sys & 64-bit. I am told will work if I go to Internet Explorer via 32-bit. FAKE! Sometimes I can watch videos. Most of the time... no way! What is the one & only solution that will solve it & fix it right & why I see some but not all? I'm not called a tech in Mumbai yet either! Reading of a manual is no solution. My old clumsy slow piece of crap PC NEVER made me this in. ' ed! Freakin computer ' brand new that gave me pain early. Also had a printer problem. FINALLY got to be resolved!

Thanks to everyone who cares to help. I'm really not bad. LOL just very annoyed!

Computer model number would be useful.

1. open computer.
2. go in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\.
3. scroll down and open the C:\windows\system32\macromed folder.
4. open the Flash directory.
5 click right FlashUtil9b.
6. Select run as administrator.
7. when the UAC prompt appears, select continue.
8. follow the installer of Flash Player.

If this does not in any 64-bit try 32-bit

    Hi Sam,

    Thanks for the reply.

You might face this problem because of the flash drive corruption, that's why I suggest to uninstall and reinstall once and check. You can uninstall the Flash player using uninstaller from the link below.

  • Adobe Flash Player will not install.

I tried several times to install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player, but it WON'T install.  It downloads fine, but when you click on install, load the Adobe's Installation file (window), but that he was doing the lock of my computer.  Why?  I had 13. What is installed and it has worked well, but kept getting a message that I needed to update the flash player, but the computer will not be installed.  He installed the other updates very well, so what gives.  When you try to install, the window is displayed, but does not install and the computer crashes.  I DO not close the Explorer window and even updated my IE from 10 to 11.  Still will not install.

Another problem I have is that the ANT downloader will not work either.  I click on it to download a file will not download YouTube downloader, but when you try to use it, it says that it is disabled.  Yet, when you go to "Manage Add on", and clicking it, it shows the Ant.com downloader is indeed enabled, but it will not work too.  They are linked, or do I have to have two separate problems?

  • Flash Player will not be updated or uninstall... :(

I use Firefox 3.6.15 (with Shockwave Flash active) on Windows 7 64 bit with Flash Player 10,0,32,18 depending on the box here:

    http://www.Adobe.com/software/Flash/about/

Then... My problem is... I downloaded and installed Flash Player 10.2 several times and it says full intall... but once more, he says I 10,0,32,18.  I used the Flash Player uninstaller and follow this guide:

    http://kb2.Adobe.com/CPS/141/tn_14157.html

    Re-installed, but still no luck...

Sigh... I only noticed that he is has not been updated after yesterday when YouTube was the Symphonic live event and when I went to watch it, it says I need the latest version of Flash Player, 10.2 (which I installed manually before this event) and made me install.

I tried the method of cleanup with CCleaner, I did some tests antivirus, registry cleaning and same registry defrags, but no luck...

Again, I will say that I try uninstall using Revo uninstaller, add/remove Prgrams Uninstller and Flash Player Uninstaller.exe

I'm pretty good with computers and I tried to fix myself because I rarely ask for help from others, but this time... I don't know what to do...

I also went through the troubleshooting and still no luck...

    http://kb2.Adobe.com/CPS/191/tn_19166.html#main_Uninstall

If I remember, 10.0.32.18 is a pretty old version... Does this mean that my Flash Player is not updated? I update all my software from their output updates...

I had a problem with Flash Player, where one of the folders in Firefox missing some .dll files and videos YouTube didn't work, but I solved that last...

And as for any recent changes. I think the biggest impact may be the update of Windows to Windows 7 service pack 1 that came out recently...

So... any help will be followed carefully and is very appreciated... Thanks ^_^

    It's very curious...

    You can try the following:

Http://www.Adobe.com/software/Flash/about/ still shows the old version?

If so, you can search across the system if you have another version of NPSWF32.dll somewhere?

  • Flash Player will NOT work in 8.1 Windows useless

I'm now regretting upgrading to Windows 8.1 Flash Player will (even after following ALL the recommended fixes on the forums) does NOT work in Windows 8.1 it is now clear that there is no official reason - fix if there is, Microsoft would put an update which should fix the problem. As a result, we end up with a bunch of patched-together patches unofficial "maybe it works" - neither works.

As for many others with this problem, I have Windows 8.1, 64 bit system with IE 11. Yes, I have the latest version of the flash player installed. Yes, I see the bouncing ball or whatever the hell it is in the gray box... or clouds moving in the other box. Yes, Shockwave active in Manage Add-ons. Yes, the ActiveX filtering is not verified in respect of the security. I went through this list so many times, that my head is spinning. The most annoying part when I 'test' to see if the latest version of Flash is installed (sigh, of course, it is) this is the message: "you are not running IE in Windows 8" good duuhhh.» Of course I'm not. I just upgraded to your platform 8.1 stupid.

If someone is asleep at the switch from Microsoft? They roll 8.1 and screw everyone who installs it when it does not work with Flash? Shouldn't they tested this first? Why this problem has not been fixed yet? It is obvious that I'm not the only one who is frustrated beyond the point of view of white to this incompetence.

Anyone know if there is a fix coming out of this outrageous mistake? Or will just sit us and twiddle thumbs as the gang at Microsoft?

Flash Player is actually integrated in Internet Explorer on Windows 8 and 8.1.  There is nothing for you to download or install it from Adobe.

After the description of the problem, looks like you're going to a Web site and send a message that Flash Player is not found.

On most sites, there is JavaScript that determines which version of your browser and Flash are installed, so that it can determine what content to show you.  In Internet Explorer 11, Microsoft has changed the string that identifies Internet Explorer for these scripts, and it is very likely that the Web site you are visiting needs to make adjustments to account for the change.  There will probably be a chaotic transition period, as web properties major pointed out the problem and fix it.

Meanwhile, Mike's suggestions are good.  Use Compatibility Mode or another browser.  You can also contact the website (especially if they have a small shop) to make them aware of the problem.  You are on the end at the beginning of the adoption curve, and they may need up to a leader.

    Thank you!

  • Flash Player will NOT UNINSTALL whether

    ARRRGH!

I was playing with some Windows Media Widget today installed a plugin in Flash Player. From there on, my system is really bad. Since I was Flash Builder 4.5 on my computer, it ran really bad lock up my computer and stop audio playback. I uninstalled the widgets that appeared to be the fault of my computer. Did not help.

So I deleted Flash Player through the normal route, via the Windows uninstall program. It does solve the problem because I discovered via the Adobe website that I was always running the latest version of Flash Player. I ran their executable uninstall SEVERAL TIMES and restarted my computer: still running the same version of Flash Player.

I decided to uninstall my Flash Player dependent programs and run the uninstall program. ALWAYS run the same version of Flash Player.

How can I get rid of this beast so I can start over?

    Thank you

    Kristin

    Hi doubleradiation,

Have you moved the file installation from one machine to the other?  If so, please try the following:

    2. On the general tab, click the unlock button
    3. Click apply
    4. Click OK to close the window

The procedure to enable downloads of Flash Player, as suggested in help, has been followed.

Sites that require Flash Player to be installed to receive their output suggest that a more up-to-date version of Flash Player must be installed.  It is not the fault of the websites because Adobe Flash Player works perfectly on my PC, when you use the same sites.

My old videos in my windows media player will not play. acquire CODECS rises. I get audio but not video for all the movies at home. Movies that I downloaded and clips play very well. How can I fix it. I use wmp 11.

    Hello satindoll11233,

    1. What is the exact error message you get when you try to play videos?

    2. What is the format of the videos that you try to play?

    3. are you able to play other files with Windows Media Player?

Media Player will not be able to play video files, if there are no required codecs or video format is not supported by Media Player.

I suggest you to check the format of the video you are trying to play. You can also try the steps in the article to resolve this problem:
