I use the new Windows 7 and have no programs of Toshiba and cannot open the FN + F8, F9 keys.
Why do they work?
What should I do? Pls help!
Answer pls clearly what I understand!
You must install the Toshiba Value added package.
I don t know what model of laptop you have exactly and what version of Win7 you use, but if you have the European model laptop you can find all the drivers, tools and utilities on the Toshiba support and download page - http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

Hello, I have a Toshiba Satellite L350 - 20 portable computer G, I went down to windows XP
Screen, sound, WIFI all work great, but the Fn brightness key does not work, anyone know the solution to my problem
You have installed the clean version of Windows XP Home edition?
Have you installed all the drivers available, tools and utilities?
I have the Satellite A500-1F4 and FN keys do not work please help me
Since when did you notice this?
Try to back up OS to an earlier time using System Restore tool just to see if this will help.
If this is not the case, try to reinstall Toshiba Value added Package.
This package contains several tools and utilities, and one of them is Toshiba Flash cards utility.
yesterday, I uninstall almost all toshiba prog and then my FN key does not work!
Please help me this laptop is only a week
Install the VAP (value added package) and reboot the laptop.
Then install the Support Flash Card utility and reboot once more.
Then test the Fn keys.
The buttons are controlled by Flash cards, so you should be able to use the buttons after a new installation of this app.
I recently bought TuneUp Utilities 2012 to speed up my laptop and arrested a number of programs, including some of Toshiba which were included with my current laptop.
Problem is that the FN key is no longer made up a screen what do my F keys, and the F keys do not work (so I can't hibernate with F4).
Does anyone know what utility is responsible for the F keys?
Fn keys are controlled by the Support of Flash memory card utility.
The Support of Flash memory card utility Msconfig must be activated!
In addition the utility of the Flash card is located in all programs-> Toshiba
Here, you can restart this tool.
Recently, I pointed out my Fn key does not work, if I press any (F1 - F12) nothing happens, but I don't care, my wireless was pick up automatically. But not today. My doctor of connectivity "(votre wireless dans pas-touche Fn8) answer Yes, I would, but does not work."
I tried to restore a month ago, but did not help. Help, please! And if possible simple way, I thank you in advance.
I put t know which model of laptop you have and what operating system you use, but try please reinstall Toshiba value added package.
You can find it on the download page of Toshiba under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
If you need assistance you are welcome.
I have a Toshiba Satellite L550D - 136 PSLXSE
I wanted to work with the keys Fn + f (f1 etc.) numbers
But they do not work. I've already updated my Windown and I already updated the package of service evaluated.
What can I do, they work?
By the way: the keys have no mechanical defects.
I put t really know what you are doing with your laptops. Each new laptop comes with the pre-installed operating system clean (recovery image) and FN (Flash cards) keys SHOULD work correctly.
Later, when you install your own stuff or configure OS, something can go wrong, and cards flash may stop working. On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what may be the problem.
Of course, you can try to fix this resettlement package added. This software contains cards Flash utility and it should work again. Before install VAP remove preinstalled version and restart your laptop.
I put t know which type of installation of Windows you have installed, but anything is possible may be responsible for the non working flash cards.
In the end, if you will not be able to fix it, to save all your data and install recovery disk HARD recovery plant using image - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm
Wth all factory settings will be OK again.
I have the Satellite L300D-242, keyboard key 6-7-R-H-B left and right arrow not working not not on Win 7 32 Bit OS. his job very well if I try the keyboard external usb.
My question is if I buy the new keyboard problem will be fix or it's something to do with the motherboard?
If everything is ok with the external keyboard, it seems that a few keys on the internal keyboard are faulty. I agree with Timox and swap the keyboard internal which is very cheap and can be done in 10 minutes.
Do you know where you can order spare parts?
You can do this if you contact an authorized service provider. You can find a list of the guys here:

I have a Toshiba Satellite C855-1GN, I received as a gift for Christmas.
I just have it for all my college work, but I noticed my function keys changed round.
Usually when I hold the FN, is for the f1 to f12 keys but suddenly it's the other way around and that's what the key is for example (brightness, etc.).
Now it seems simple, but I found that not the case...
I was in the BIOS and I checked the settings and changed them several times, but still the value of special function parameters, it does not work.
I've been on the HWsetup and checked, but even once, even the special function value, it fails to work.
I tried various keyboard shortcuts suggested by people because the key fn is 'locked' or however they described, but still I can't understand what has happened and how to restore it.
I can't stand my laptop being that I just got used to it and use the other keys MUCH more than the F-keys.
Please can someone help me?

Hi, I had a portable Satellite L10, used with a lot of software. However, many of the key with the Fn key combinations do not work. FN more Esc, F6 F12 and the arrows above, everything works, but others that I can't do. Is it possible that they have somehow been disabled? If so, how can they be enabled again?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
Please see the following [SITE | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp], choose the machine that you have and the operating system that is installed, download all the drivers and tools and install them, no matter if they´re already installed or not.
Eventually the FN keys should work again. If not, back up all your important data from the HARD disk and perform a reinstallation of your operating system with the embedded restore CD. The installation goes automatically, so Don t be worried.
After recovering from the machine, the keys MUST work.
I bought laptop Satellite Pro C660 - 2TQ PSC0RE - 01801QGR 2 days ago and found the Fn key does not.
Someone help me to activate it?
Select all programs-> Toshiba-> Flash cards, and then restart this utility.
Now if you press Fn + F8, you should be able to turn on or turn off the WiFi.
The FN + F9 active needs or disable the touchpad.
I just got a Satelite L505-13N and upgrade to Win 7 Professional. The Wireless does not work. It seems that the driver is not yet installed.
FN + F8, that should give me the option to turn on/off Wireless does nothing and the wireless on the laptop light is lit (orange color).
What should I do?
Wait a moment George.
What do you mean with upgrade? Did you do your own installation of Win7?
I have a Satellite Pro A300 with Windows Vista business, and some of my FN stop working.
I have tried to re - install the package of added value, but it changed nothing.
Can someone help me?
Not quite sure, why some of your FN buttons stopped working, but the fact is that utility support memory card Flash controls the FN keys and you should try to restart Flash cards first.
Select all programs-> Toshiba-> Flash cards, and then restart the tool.
Also go to Control Panel - tools and performance Information - adjust Visual effects
Here the function "Use Visual styles on windows and buttons" option on the bottom must be enabled to allow the Flashcards software work
I ' v I just A100-003 with Vista, but reinstall W - XP. What driver I have to get a Fn key work properly? Only Fn + F5 (switch to VGA output) works well. I can't adjust brightness disp., sound mute or touchpad switch. Where can I find a driver for Windows XP Home edition solve this problem?
Satellite A100-003 is a part of the PSAARE series. I visited the page European driver of Toshiba, but I found only the acoustic silence, help them and the driver sound
Other XP drivers are not available.
You can try to download and install the tools (Touch Pad on / off Utility, Hotkey Utility)
etc.) Another A100 series I don't know but maybe it will work if you do not have to give up this feature m
