  • Instructions for Mac connection to LJ P1102w wireless

I just bought a new HP LJ P1102w for our conference room to serve a printer without comment thread.  I want to enable wireless printing, but not to join our enterprise network for security reasons.

I use a Mac 10.6.3, which says that the package and instructions is supported under way of execution.

I can't do the wireless to connect with my Mac, and there is no instructions for the use of a Mac - only to install wireless by using the CD - that has wireless options or guest.

    Anyone have any ideas?

I had all the trouble that you guys are self-describing. I then implemented flawlessly on another system. That's what I did.

    1. when I put it up on my own system (laptop #1), when I installed the driver, I checked the box for a set up USB, rather than a network configuration. Maybe it's a difference, I don't know. In any case, when I put it up on top of another system (laptop #2), when I installed the driver (using the supplied CD), I checked the box that says "network printer". Maybe that makes a difference.

    2. I have had no bad USB connection setting.

    3. I then configure for use with an Airport Express station. I unplugged the Airport Express, attached the printer with a USB cable, plugged in and re-installed Airport Express with its installation software (which is on the laptop in applications / utilities / Airport utility). I have reset to factory, but only changed settings two windows: If use with iTunes and confirming the use with the printer (which appeared in the window as Hewlett Packard...). As I went through this procedure, I did a duty to observe that the password was not in WEP and WPA/WPA-2. I concluded the reconfiguration of the Airport Express. Now I connected the USB cable to the laptop Mac #2. I went through the Apple / system preferences / print and fax, has highlighted the LJ P1102w, etc., etc., as it is stated in the Youtube video. I chose the Airport Express as the SSID and used encryption WPA/WPA-2, alphanumeric and entered the Airport Express password. I then closed it all out as it shows in the Youtube video. I plugged the USB cable in the Airport Express. Then, I removed the printer from my list of printer as shown in the Youtube video and clicked on '+' to add a printer. Up jumps a printer Hello "Hewlett Packard," I added. I was able to print now 'Wireless' laptop #2 with the printer connected by USB cable to the Airport Express.

    4. I then plugged the USB cable in my computer and to the high jump the USB printer in my list of printers. I followed the Youtube video all over again, with basically all the previous settings. After running through the procedure, I've removed the USB printer (keeping the Airport Express printer), unplug the laptop Mac #2 USB cable and click on '+' to add a printer. A few seconds later, jumped up to a Hello LJP1102w printer, which I clicked on Add.

-C' is to say that the printer unit now works in three different ways on this system (Mac laptop #2), all depending on how I put my default in the computer.

-I think that the differences between my first failure and the subsequent success has been

    A. ensuring that I select the pilot of 'network' at the beginning, when you install the driver on the CD provided

    B. ensuring that I use encryption appropriate (which, for the Airport Express was WPA/WPA-2)

    C. unplug the laptop USB cable before searching for the printer Hello.

    D. I do not know if the OS X makes a difference. Laptop #1 is 10.5.8 (Leopard), while Portable #2 is 10.6.6 (snow leopard, as in the Youtube video).

-So, as I say, I had a very easy installation and successful triple, following a frustrating initial attempt. On this first attempt, with #1 laptop, I could do two of the three works, but you have a wireless printer. And be fully wireless is really very cool...

Maybe something in that will help the rest of you guys. Good luck.

  • Much time for re - connect to the router wirelessly after waking from sleep

    Hello, hope someone can help.

I 64but Win 7 on an Acer laptop, connected to a Belkin wireless router, when the computer wakes up from his sleep, it takes 30-45 seconds for the adapter to reconnect to my network - get the spinning blue "o" for a while.

At first I thought the wireless adapter was power down, under power options, that I made, it has a maximum performance in all cases.

No change. Then, I thought that perhaps it was due to the computer, enter the hybrid sleep mode, so I disabled who.

No change. Then, I checked to make sure that the SSID of the router was broadcast (it is) and that the WEP keys are the same. They are.

I have to update my firmware on the router? The router is at least a year - I don't have it in front of me, but it supports N and g should change my wireless network card drivers (it is an internal Intel chipset).

What else could be the cause of this delay? It is very annoying. When connected, everything works fine.

PS, I should add that I use the power of Microsoft Signature Plan, but I have changed the power adapter, as shown options above.

Thanks Jack. I guess I'll have to live with it for now, although I might update my firmware on the router just for fun and giggles

I ended up changed to WEP as WPA seemed to worsen my connection (fewer bars).

  • HP P1102W WIRELESS PRINTING HAS STOPPED WORKING

Our P1102W lost the wi - fi connection and we cannot get it back.  Seems to be a printer WiFi issue.

It is one of two HP printers (other is a 5510) using a wifi network at home (WPA2, w/password), accessible by a Dell laptop and an Apple MacBook AIr (mines).  Two computers can access the 5510.  Both lost the P1102W.

The blue network on the P1102W is no longer regularly lights up.  By pressing the button on the P1102W wireless accomplishes nothing.  Electric bike achieves nothing (but used).  Moving the printer does not help.  P1102w works fine on USB key.

We tried to reset the Modem and the router. No change.

We have reinstalled the software. No change.

    Hi @maddog8212 ,

I see that you have lost connection with the P1102w wireless. I will definitely do my best to help you.

I would like to reset the printer first to clear the previous network settings.
Turn the printer off, press and hold the wireless button and cancel (x button) while turning the printer on and do not release both buttons until the printer stops making the noise.

Print a configuration report and check the SSID address and IP are disabled.
    Print a Configuration Page.

Plug the USB cable from the printer to the computer.

I have provided Windows and Mac steps, you can choose how you want to set up the printer again.

    Windows as follows:

Run the Wireless Setup to set up the printer on the network again.

Go to start, all programs, HP, HP Laserjet P1102w, then select Wireless Network Configuration.

    Steps to configure the wireless.

    Then, unplug the USB cable.

    Test the printer.

Mac as follows: (since you mentioned that you had the HTML option for your Mac)

Make sure that Safari is set as default browser. (sometimes the SAP will not open if it is not set by default)

Open Safari, at the top, select the Safari menu, select Preferences, general, as a default value.

    Close all applications.

In the Apple menu bar, click Go, computer, MAC hard drive, library, Printers, HP, LaserJet, click the folder for your printer, click browser EWS or HTML config, it should open the webserver integrated for the printer to set up the wireless, and then click the network tab, click on wireless on the left and fill out your information. (be sure to infrastructure is selected and alpha or numeric is selected) Apply the settings.

You should get a solid blue light on the printer in 1 minute about.

Remove the USB driver, then add the network printer:

    Click on the Apple.
    Click on System Preferences.

    Click the printing and scanning.

Select the printer, and then click the sign - to remove the printer. (USB driver)

    Unplug the USB cable.

Then click on the + sign and select the printer from the list and click Add. (Hello P1102w)

    Try to print.

If you have run Setup for the wireless again on Mac in the first place, on the Windows computer, simply create a new port.

Go to start, devices and printers, click right on the printer and on the left, click printer properties, select the ports tab.

Click Add Port, select the Port TCP/IP Standard, then New Port and follow the instructions in the wizard.
  • OfficeJet 6700 Premium: Officejet 6700 Premium - Support for direct printing HP (Ad Hoc) wireless

Please can someone confirm if you can set the to either ad hoc printing or using HP Officejet 6700 Premium Wireless Direct. I can't find anything in the user manual.

The situation is that a friend has just moved into his own office with a connection high speed standard with a wireless router, in 'Serviced Offices'. These connections allow broadband to the office and he has to pay for a dial-up connection to the internet.

So he paid for two ethernet connections which probably come out through internet gateway of the complex. However, he lost the ability to print at its 6700 HP that has been previously set up wireless. He tried to install the printer using infrastructure mode by connecting to the network without wire of the complex, but still can not access the printer. It could be that the wireless network is on a different network for LAN connections segment.

The only solution I can think off is to let each PC with ethernet for Internet connection and install a wireless dongle in each PC to connect to the wireless printer. However, as noted above though I can't find the instructions for the Officejet 6500 to print Ad Hoc has nothing in the manual for the 6700.

    Is this possible?

  • HP LaserJet Pro P1102w: HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Wireless Installation - adding other laptops and desktop PC...

    Hello

I have a question about computers adding more to my HP printer.

I followed the instructions & so I can print wireless from laptop, I used during the installation (after removing the USB cable).

I can also print wireless from our various iPads & iPhones (after the change of the printer WiFi).

But I don't see how I can 'Add' laptop (Windows Vista) daughter & my main desktop computers (Windows XP), so they can print wireless too!

Does anyone know how to do this?

I tried to launch the installation of the drive on my laptop HP printer girls. He was able to recognize the printer, but was unfortunately unable to print.

For any help or suggestion would be appreciated.

    Thank you very much

    Simon B.

    Hi & thanks,

I also found a solution to install my printer HP LaserJet Pro P1102w wireless & connecting then 2nd, 3rd & subsequent laptop/desktop computers.

I initially reset the printer to remove any configuration, then I did the following:-

Install on a laptop using a CD or could start simply by connecting the USB cable to the laptop. Follow the instructions, test the characters etc. (to prove that the wireless network is configured correctly)).

Check printing wireless since this laptop computer 1 initial works, & also works various iPad/iPhone etc.

Problems have been met when try to get other laptops/workstations to print wireless (2nd & later).

The following seemed to work: -.

On the other portable computers desktop (do not plug printer with USB cable): -.

    (1) the installation of the CD,

    (2) choose the series w1100 - Wireless install,

    (3) choose to install the printer software (& display the Guide of the user if want),

    4) click Add another printer (option 1).

    (5) choose HP LJ P1100w Pro Series.

    (6) choose option 3 (to connect to a network configured wireless (that established earlier),

    (7) following, a lot of software is installed,

    (8) identify the printer by choosing the method to identify it (select in a list),

    (9) side of firewall pinhole (all).

    (10) looking for printer, concludes HP LJ Pro P1102w,

    (11) then the TCP/IP data has been: -.
    IP 192.168.2.46
    Subnet 255.255.255.0
    Gateway 192.168.2.1

    Host Name NPI1C754F

    (12) (stupid 'password required' kept appearing several times - X box to close),

    (13) to enable direct printing,

    (14) then,

Finally success!  A test prints to computers/idevices like many that I could find.

Thank you very much. I hope the above can help someone else!

    Hi @Atmasin,

I see that you have trouble connecting the printer to the new router. I want to help you.

I would like to reset the printer first to clear the previous network settings.
Turn the printer off, press and hold the wireless button and cancel (x button) while turning the printer on and do not release both buttons until the printer stops making the noise.

    Print a Configuration Page.

If the network name has spaces or special characters, the printer may not recognize it.

The printer is able to send/receive in the 2.4 ghz band.

If it is set to 5 GHZ network, you may need to change to 2.4 ghz. (rename the 5 ghz or turn it off)

The WPA key setting must be on AES to work properly not TKIP.

    Multi flow must be enabled.
Router firewall must be open for printer ports.
If you have Mac filtering give you printer hardware to meet the needs of the Configuration page.

You may need to contact your router company to get help to check these settings.

Try to run the Configuration Wizard wireless of the HP software to set up the printer on the network.

  • IPAD detects only not HP6500 wireless printer

I used to be able to print with my IPAD on the HP 6500 wireless. Printer works and shows wireless is enabled.

The router looks like a good router and the printer definitely supports Airprint.

Because it worked before, we will try to rebuild the network connection between the iPad and the printer.

    1. turn off the power to the printer.

    2. completely turn off the iPad.

    3. turn off the power to the router for 1 minute.

4 reconnect power to the router and wait for the lights to return to normal.

5 turn the printer power on and wait for it to power on completely and connect to the network.

    6. power on the iPad.

    7. try printing again.

While steps have been tried in a different order, this process works in most cases where Airprint was working and now it isn't.

  • DeskJet 3055 has J11n: connect Deskjet 3055a J11n wireless network without PIN or WPSA and with Mac Mavericks

    Hello

I run a Mac with Yosemite and would like to add the printer Hp Deskjet 3055a J11n for the wireless network.

My router doesn't have any a WPSA button and not a PIN code.

Before, when I used Mac OS 10.6, I could run the features of the CD that came with the Hp Printer.

When I try to open the Setup from the CD on Yosemite, he says 'cannot open only on Mac 10.6.

How can I connect the printer to my wireless network?

    Thank you!!

    Marjolein

    Hi @MarjoleinPeters,

A driver full features for Yosemite is not available for your printer, or from the CD supplied with your printer from the HP website.  This document applies to the HP printers supported in versions of Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion), 10.8 (Mountain Lion), 10.6 (Snow Leopard), 10.9 (Mavericks), and 10.10 (Yosemite) who have only drivers available via Apple Software Update.

I can help you put the printer on your network wireless software. I use this method for iPads, iPhones and other devices that have no software.

    1. Restore default network settings on the printer by pressing the wireless button, by going to settings and then restore the default settings. The wireless button should then start flashing, this means that it is now in auto wireless mode.
    2. To connect to the network that broadcasts the printer. It is usually HP-setup-3050 has and then a part of the MAC address. Always wireless light will blink on the printer at this stage, which is normal since it is not a real ad-hoc connection.
    3. Load up the built-in webserver (EWS) in the browser of your mobile device. For automatic wireless default IP address is 192.168.223.1.
    4. Go to the tab network along the top of the SAP.
    5. Click Setup Wizard along on the left hand side to begin to set up the printer wireless.

You have now completed the configuration of wireless network, follow the next 3 steps to start printing.

    1. Blue wireless light will be solid, put the Mac on your network.
    2. Add the printer in system preferences.
    3. Print

Please let me know if that solves the problem. I look forward to hear from you.

    Hi @Eoj25karfuno,

I see that you have problems running the HTML configuration. I'd love to help you.

Make sure that Safari is set as default browser. (sometimes the SAP will not open if it is not set by default)
Open Safari, at the top, select the Safari menu, select Preferences, general, as a default value.

Restore the settings of the default printer Wireless:
    1. turn off the product.
    2. hold the wireless button and the Cancel button and then turn on the product.
3 press and hold the buttons until the printer stops making noise, then release the buttons.

Print a Page of Configuration to ensure that IPv4 and SSID are deleted from the old settings.
    Print a Configuration Page.

Remove the printer in printers and Scanners and add it again. You may need to click the P1102w in the drop-down menu, do not use the default driver.

Here is a screenshot, it is a printer model different, but just to show you what it will look like.

Follow this document to reconfigure the printer via the wireless network.

Under OS X v10.10 Yosemite, OS X v10.9 Mavericks and OS X Lion mountain v10.8 Select method three: using a USB wireless setup.

If you are still having problems loading of HTML, update the firmware of the printer configuration Page.

Unfortunately, there is not one available currently to 10.10, but if you have 10.9 or less or a Windows computer, you can update the firmware in this way.
