For some reason, I can't get my Outlook Express to send my emails... they do not connect or send failed
For some reason, I can't get my Outlook Express to send my emails... they do not connect or send failed... what I am doing wrong to cause this... I have used Outlook Express in the past and had no problem with it... Also, how can I know what e-mail programs POP3 or request the program Outlook Express? Could you please clarify this for me, thanks...
I use Windows Live Mail as my regular e-mail address... but I can use a different e-mail to another e-mail program to configure Outlook Express?
Visit the website of your email provider and see if they have instructions to set up an account in Outlook Express. They provide you with the appropriate settings. Nobody here knows them, because they are specific to the e-mail provider. So check with your provider of messaging on the correct settings to use for OE.

You don't offer a lot of information and a new thread of your own would have been better than locking it.Do you have an error message when you try to send? If so, post it. If this is not the case, make sure that there are no messages in the Outbox. If there is, check: file | Work offline and in: reviews | Layout: uncheck the preview pane. You can remove them now?If this isn't the case, create a new Outbox.Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.In Windows XP, 2K & 2K 3, files from user OE (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View. With OE closed, find the DBX the Outbox.dbx file and delete it. A new vacuum will be created automatically when you open OE. -
I have Windows 7 and for some reason, I can't install Adobe Type Manager on my computer. I need ATM to install the DIN font but I'm having no luck what so ever. I can see the police DIN in my Dropbox, but it appears like this: - ._DIN-"BOLD", no file extension. what I am doing wrong? What is Mac?
(1) Adobe Type Manager (ATM) is not compatible with any version of Windows beyond Windows XP (32 bit only). Try to install ATM on any newer version of Windows can actually disable the ability of the rendering of Type 1 and OpenType CFF fonts window, requiring a reinstall of Windows.
(2) there is no need to use the ATM to install fonts on Windows.
(3) the name of the file ._DIN-bold is indicative of a police of MacOS. These fonts may not be installed on Windows systems.

copy the address book Outlook Express for Hotmail - can't get in Outlook Express
copy the address book Outlook Express for Hotmail - can't get in Outlook Express.
Lately I often can't get into my Outlook email. I know that I can use Hotmail, but I need my address book. I know that it has to see with the Qwest no longer carring MSN. Can you tell me how to recover or to carry it?
Thank you, Cookie 303-371-6295 or 303-931-4632
The address book is a file with an extension of wab file. Search for *.wab and then you can click on it to open it. You can then go to file | Export | Address book, then save it as a csv file. To import into Hotmail, as in this case: www.windowslivehelp.com because it is where are the experts of Hotmail.

How can I get my outlook express to receive messages
Have just set Outlook Express on my new laptop computer, I get the error code (0x800408FC) for incoming emails. Outgoing settings are ok, even if I use the same server. How can I fix this?
- It is a 'new' XP Machine?
- Please post any error message in its entirety. You can left click on it to highlight then right click to copy and then paste in this thread. Just the number of code alone is not enough.

Had problems with Outlook Express. When I send a mail, I get an error message indicating the e-mail was sent not. The e-mail has been sent, but it never leaves the output area. I have to go and delete the e-mail. Then I don't have a folder of e-mails, except in my deleted file.
Any help would be appreciated. You have apparent dbx file corruption.
Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox and then create new folders to send and sent items box after having moved the messages you want to save to a local folder that you create.
Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.
In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.
With OE closed, find the DBX files for the items in the Outbox and sent and delete them. New ones will be created automatically when you open OE.
After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.
Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.
General precautions for Outlook Express:
Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.
Information on the maximum size of the .dbx files that are used by Outlook Express:
http://support.Microsoft.com/?kbid=903095Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:
http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3Why you don't need your anti-virus to scan your email
http://thundercloud.NET/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htmNote that for some AV programs, it may be necessary to uninstall the program and reinstall in custom Mode and uncheck analysis when the option is the result of e-mail messages.
Compact often as specified above.
And backup often.

How can I get my Outlook Express folders to new Windows Live Mail
my old XP computer has blown the motherboard. Hard drive is OK. Bought the new computer using Windows LIve Mail. I transferred 'My Documents' folder to the new computer. How can I get my files from the old computer to the new Windows Live Mail Outlook Express when the old computer does not work?
Assuming you have the message OE together on the new computer store, (the OE message store is hidden in XP in Documents and Settings, not my Documents), then go to the next topic. If you still have questions, continue your problem here.

When I went to send a link to a video Today Show, I could not send it via Outlook Express. How to make a server to help me send videos from Web sites?
To use Outlook Express, you must set up your account with it. You must know the names of the servers POP3 and SMTP from your ISP uses and perhaps a few other things. The best way to get the information you need is normally to look at on the web site of the ISP, but you can usually also call them and ask them.
