I remember I put a password once, and then I removed the password once again, but now that I formatted my pc and returned to windows 7 ultimate, when I press F10 it asking me a password. I tried to put the same password I used the first time I tried, but it was not valid. I tried to put my user password is the administrator user, and it did not work... After 3 passwords, it shows me the numbers and I can't do nothing but put it off and on again.

  I have a Compaq Mini CQ10-400 s/n CNC02648QX. My son has put both a boot password, we've been able to guess AND a second password necessary to access the settings of the BIOS itself that is lost.

  From what I've read in the forums, the error code is a human readable a master password hash. So I don't think all of the "e9". "passwords that I found posted on this forum already at work. (and they do not have)

  You cannot reset your bios EliteBook, with unknown-admin-password Bios, without the help of HP!
