For these past few days, whenever I try to use Firefox, I get a pop-up (such as when you update a prorgram) asking if I want to allow Mozilla to make changes to this computer.
I have not changed my security warnings.
The Firefox program folder is located here: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\

A few days ago, I started getting the following message EVERY time I try to open a session:
«You want the following program to make changes to this computer: it lists the FF and Mozilla Corp.»
I have to click 'Yes' EVERY time, and then it seems my Comcast home page.
I have a PC with Windows 7.In addition, when my home page appears, 3 small icons at the top right do not appear. (Minimize, X)
A possible cause of this error is that Firefox is configured to run as administrator.
Make sure that Firefox is not set to run as administrator.
Right click on the desktop Firefox shortcut and choose "Properties".Make sure that all items are disabled in the tab "Compatibility" in the Properties window.
- Privilege level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
- "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" must not be selected
Also check the firefox.exe program properties in the program Firefox (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) folder.

Why windows will ask permission to allow Skype to make changes to this computer?
Original title: open Skype with windows firewall 7.
When Skype (ver.5.2.60.113) try to open, windows 7 application firewall to allow Skype to make changes to this computer. All Windows Firewall settings are configured to allow Skype. I even made a new rule for "ProgramFiles (x 86) \Skype\Phone\Skype.exe" to be allowed in the inbound and outbound rules, but nothing helps. Is this a bug or a dark environment. I think it happened since Skype last updated.
Hello
I suggest you to change the setting of user account in windows 7 and check if it helps to refer to the article below:
Guided Help: adjust the settings of user account control in Windows 7
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/975787
Also check out the article below
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/what-are-user-account-control-settings
Warning: User Account Control (UAC) can help you to prevent your computer from unauthorized changes. It works by asking permission when a task requires administrative rights, such as installing software or changing settings affecting other users. We do not recommend disable user account control. If you turn it off, you must reactivate as soon as possible.
Hope this helps,

This has happened only since the upgrade to 29.5. No other version has caused this problem. TBird 29.5 also loses its icon on each new startup get up every morning, but not a restart, requiring a manual purge of the iconcache.db. Why is - what happens to 29.5 and what workaround for these problems?
Re: "Windows 7 permission" to make changes to this computer"". "
In addition to changing the UAC - image settings as shown here:
http://www.PCWorld.com/article/2046046/how-to-fix-your-PCs-worst-annoyances.htmlTry this for the specific programmes:
- Go to the shortcut properties Compatibility tab
- Make sure that "Run as Administratror" is NOT checked
- Make sure you check "run in compatibility mode for:" and select "Windows 7"

The title says it all really.
I try to use WinMerge, a program I've used for years.
Now, every time that I throw I get say popup "want allow you the program following an unknown Publisher to make changes to this computer".I tried to use the application compatibility Wizard to solve this problem, and I managed to get to the pop-up window IF I run the program from the inside of the Act.
But if I try to start the Dowes program I get the popup :(I guess I must be missing something in the law so that it works all the time.
Any help/suggestions appreciated.
Thank you

Hello
This message appears when the application doesn't have an authority root certificate. These types of notifications can be disabled from user account control settings.[1] method: Using Control Panel to change UAC settingsCAUTION: Turn off UAC is NOT recommended- On the start menu, select Control Panel
- Go to system and security > Action Center
- In the left pane, select change user account control settings
- Drag the button scroll never notify
- Click OK to save your settings
OPINIONS: UAC can avoid potentially dangerous applications to make changes on your computer. Disable UAC would disable the feature for all programs and not for a specific special application.Thank you
I hope this helps :) -
I'm trying to run a system restore, and I have Windows 7. The problem started when Yahoo hacked my Google with Firefox search engine. I could not understand how to get my search engine to Google, so I tried to do a "system restore." I get a message from "user account control" who says: ' do you want to allow the program following an unknown Publisher to make changes to this computer: rstrui.exe Editor: unknown origin of the file: hard drive of this computer. " I think that rstrui.exe is actually the Windows program for the restoration of the system, but I don't think I should get a message like "Editor: unknown." I ran Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and Spybot, but came to nothing. If my system restore has been disabled?
Hello
This can help you, because these are a few reasons for problems with SR:
1. If you are using Norton, you should disable Norton inviolable Protection before using the system restore.
http://Service1.Symantec.com/support/sharedtech.nsf/pfdocs/2005113009323013
AVG will cause problems with SR too.
«Temporarily disable AVG»
http://www.Avg.com/ww-en/FAQ.Num-3857
2. try to use Safe Mode system restore.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/system-restore
"Start your computer in safe mode.
See you soon.

Hi EatonmcMT,
1. what security software is installed on the computer?
2 did you do changes on the computer before the show?
I suggest you scan your computer with the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.
The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.
http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.
Important: During the scan of the hard drive if bad sectors are found, the scanner tries to repair this sector, all available on which data may be lost.
Let us know if that helps.

Question
Recently, whenever I try to open Firefox, I get a dialog box: Exc in ev handl: TypeError: brw is not defined (JavaScript Application). Certainly, Firefox is my default browser.
After clicking on OK Firefox opens. You can probably get rid of it by disabling McAfee Site Advisor ending Firefox and then restarting Firefox and the reactivation of McAfee Site Advisor, ending at Firefox and restart Firefox. But it would probably be best to uninstall Site Advisor and reinstall (as opposed to the update)...
Please see the solution in http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problematic_extensions
"McAfee Site Advisor.(Windows): for best results, you need to uninstall McAfee Site Advisor from Control Panel > add/edit programs (programs and features). Restart the system. Then http://www.siteadvisor.com/ reinstalling and reboot the system. Installation of other waste (crapware) suggested applications.
Please mark "resolved" a response that will better help others with a similar problem - hope it was her.
